You're totally right about this song 👍
Indila is using an old french song "Douce France" by Charles Trenet (Sweet France) from 1947 (a nice vintage song btw )
She's playing with the pronunciation of "Douce souffrance" (sweet suffering) and "Douce France"
It's about the suffering of being a descendant of immigrants in France
In the video clip, she is facing rejections and then she's sacrificing herself in the dark storm which represents hatred and fear. The storm also refers to the Paris terrorist attack that had bring even more fear and hatred towards immigrants due to the terrorists origin
She's witnessed by the little girl in the car and after the storm comes a quiet weather showing that's there is still hope for a peaceful future with the next generations
thanks for the words "orchestral pop" , i don't know if it's a genre in itself, but here it perfectly describes what they've done
I think Zaho and Indila are just the BEST female singers in France
hello , ty for your reaction .....from a frenchie
Good choice !Love from France !☮️🦩
Your feeling about this song is interesting.
Something like 10 years ago, Indila was interviewed about the signification of this song.
To resume, she said that she talk about people who are looking for their place in this world, who try things and are rejected, who have dreams but don't achieve them. She explain it's not really about racism, cause everyone in life as time when they will be rejected.
She said that "Dernière danse" is the Buddhist way of thinking that it is "one last thing before a new one", and that she made the video in Paris because she was born there, and that, for her, it is the place where everything started.
So the sun after the dark is indeed the best interpretation.
If you want to experience the most emotional song ever in French, with the best interpretation, in my huble opinion, you shoul try this one :
Lara Fabian - 'Je suis malade", in a live concert in 2000. I have a version on my channel with subtitles ( ua-cam.com/video/AYWj3Uahrzs/v-deo.html ) but you can easily find some other versions.
Vous avez tout compris j ai bien aime votre reaction
