The speech prank worked because it was in pure Hindi and the guy only spoke passable Hindi for daily usage and didn't understand the meaning of all the heavy words, he didn't even care to do his research to find the meaning. He just memorized it.
And he was from Uganda. Obviously he would have problem with hard-hindi, like balatkar-chamatkar word. Even people who from India, who doesn’t know bit strong word. But the message was right.

This movie is mostly relatable to Asians. The education system is actually that way in Asia. And this is like old bollywood masala musicals with a mix of different genres together. Btw, I know u won't get most of the jokes cause many of them are lost in translation but this movie is popular all over Asia & is watched by literally EVERY indian. It's a classic. So thanx for reacting to this one 💜
Its also relatable to the whole world, you can't confine it to a single culture or geography, ya it's relatable for us but the themes like friendship, Love, fear & Depression, Passion, Inspiration & living your dreams, showing male vulnerablility, these all are universal so it ll make cry everyone irrespective of someone is Asian, European, American, African or etc, that's what makes a movie great and a classic
This movie is relatable in so many ways and not just to one particular aspect of life or just one ethnicity which is why it will always be one of the greatest movies ever made, every character had their own story which is why it attracts a much wider audience.
PK and 3 Idiots are made by the same filmmaker, Rajkumar Hirani, lovingly aka Raju Hirani by others in Bollywood. He's one of the most looked up to directors/writers by everyone in the industry. I think you can already understand why.

Education is the most important possession which an Indian has and all the Indian students are pushed extremely hard by their parents to excel in studies. Hence this film was a Roaring success in Asia.

Just realized you had to put so much time and energy during editing I really appreciate your efforts. I agree with the romance not being developed nicely, the musical suggested that the girl was in love but nothing hinted on main guys feelings, mayb to keep him mysterious? They just added a time jump and said rancho likes the girl too. it didn't felt they were going in that direction and just added romance to drive the story or to appeal general public. Anyways, I am glad that you enjoyed the film. There's a similar philosophical comedy film directed by the same guy and follows similar pattern of an naive badass dude questioning society. Its called "Munna bhai MBBS". Tho I recommend checking other indian stuff before jumping into this to avoid the feeling of repetition.
I would recommend a more indie kind of a movie with a little bit of a commercial vibe as well its a weird combo for sure. Its about a girl who grew up very closeted and then gets an opportunity to get out of india alone and how that changes her. Its has amazing music humor and dialogue its my favorite movie of all time and i've seen tons. Its called Queen (2013).

There's another thought provoking film I'd recommend by Amir if you want, it's called Taare Jameen Par. It's another one of the films you see Amir kinda going differently than how most of the society would go.
Amir khan's character is inspired by a real person named rachordas, same as Amir khan character name in the movie, only the character is inspired, not the story, the real person also made a school by his own, and look lil similar what we see at the end of movie . Not totally similar, but he's doing what Amir khan's character was trying to do in the movie.
Story transcends culture, geography, and time. Anyone can find something to relate to in this story; any well crafted story. I'm pretty sure I'm not a white, orphan boy hanging with a rough but close group of guys and two brothers in 1950s rural Oklahoma but you can bet your bottom dollar I can relate to Ponyboy Curtis and I read that book just to remind myself, its okay even when things are not okay.
Like Stars on Earth, Dangal and PK are three films that I would highly recommend that you should definitely watch that have the same lead actor as this film.
If want to then you can react to so many masterpiece 'Tare zamee par" ,'Dangal', 'Airlift' , 'Merry Com','Bhag mikha bhag', 'pad man ' , 'toilet ek Prem Katha ' and so many etc........ It's endless . These are so motivational and educational powerful movies.

First was Munnan Bhai M.B.B.S. Sanjay Dutt was lead actor. Second was Lage raho Munna Bhai(Keep it up Munna brother) with Sanjay reprising his role. Boman Irani stars in both. Third was 3 idiots. Fourth PK in which Sanjay Dutt plays Bhairon Singh, PK's friend. Fifth was Sanju which was not critically appreciated. It was a biopic of Sanjay Dutt. Ranbir Kapoor plays Sanjay. Ranbir had a cameo in PK as the alien that comes with PK in last scene. Boman Irani stars again.

48:00 One tip for you while watching Indian films, especially like this one. Indian films are mostly drama + melo drama. Scenes are created more dramatic. Moreover, you'll always miss one of the biggest and most loved part of the films, which give so much meaning and soul to the movies, which is, songs. You won't understand unless you know the language.
You should definitely check out "Sardar Udham" (2021) movie,in my opinion it is one of the best movies of this decade. It is available on Amazon Prime video.

35:35 it's fair to say anyone who says what you just said probably doesn't truly grasp how much pain someone has to feel at that exact moment, it does seem selfish but understand that a suicidal person fully understands this point while making this decision, but the pain has surpassed what the person can mentally and physically handle and the decision at that point feels involuntary, so like they said in the movie, it's not suicide, it's murder.

Amir khan is not one of the best, but the best A grade actor in Indian cinema,in today's date, before 2000 he do alot of mediocre movies, but after 2000 he take a sharp turn in his career, and after 2000 he only gives movies, which we can simply say, it's a masterpiece, only 2 which are lil no nonsense movies, but majorly, he choose very well scripted movies, tho if you are looking for more technically good Indian movies, then I would say, Padmaavat, Sardar udham, super delux,jallikatu, I can say alot but I can't remember much now, I've seen a movie yesterday, movie name churuli, that's a must watch I would say, so I've secommeded some, see each trailer, one which attract you most watch that one. one thing i never heard any one point out though.... even though rancho was a natural learner and ultimately did better that chatur in his life.... chatur actually did pretty darn good with himself, no matter how much people say he is just a guy who likes to memorize stuff. 35:35 it's fair to say anyone who says what you just said probably doesn't truly grasp how much pain someone has to feel at that exact moment, it does seem selfish but understand that a suicidal person fully understands this point while making this decision, but the pain has surpassed what the person can mentally and physically handle and the decision at that point feels involuntary, so like they said in the movie, it's not suicide, it's murder.

Amir khan is not one of the best, but the best A grade actor in Indian cinema,in today's date, before 2000 he do alot of mediocre movies, but after 2000 he take a sharp turn in his career, and after 2000 he only gives movies, which we can simply say, it's a masterpiece, only 2 which are lil no nonsense movies, but majorly, he choose very well scripted movies, tho if you are looking for more technically good Indian movies, then I would say, Padmaavat, Sardar udham, super delux,jallikatu, I can say alot but I can't remember much now, I've seen a movie yesterday, movie name churuli, that's a must watch I would say, so I've secommeded some, see each trailer, one which attract you most watch that one.
