- As he makes his way from Cape Town back to the UK onboard his HUGO BOSS yacht, British Skipper Alex Thomson takes a moment to discuss the America's Cup. Thomson believes that fellow British sailor Sir Ben Ainslie and INEOS TEAM UK stand a great chance of 'bringing the Cup back home!'

I'm Russian, but I really want UK to win America's Cup! There was such a story of America's Cup... I mean. Sorry, but the America's Cup was often so dishonorable from America's side, that I want to just shout: British, take the cup already and don't give it to anyone)
But I also have to say, americans really built some awesome boats, thanks to Mr. Herreshoff (and not only)

What's the status of Alex's boat? Apparently it's good enough to sail her home. Will it be able to race again under harsh conditions? What exactly made it fail and what was done to repair it?
He had managed the repairs to the bow.
He had to retire from the race because one of the rudders snapped off.
They replaced the rudder a couple of weeks ago before beginning the passage home
Rudder has been replaced so boat is in great shape to sail back home!
