I think part of the problem with the Watts link in that particular setup is that the center rotating bar isn't mounted directly to the center diff cover. If I remember my Watts link setups, having the center bearing mounted to the center cover instead of a different assembly would prevent the endlinks from impacting the cooling lines. Of course, putting revised cooling lines in there could prevent that issue as well. Perhaps a banjo bolt arrangement might reduce the clearance height and allow the current design to work...

If the bushing on the rears are worn (causing watts to move move and causing interference), it is not that they are broken..they are "worn" and will need to be replaced. That is a simple maintenance issue. Look at the bushings..what condition are they in? Clearance for the watts should have taken into consideration extreme movement of the arms (whether they are worn or not), but you are truly dealing with a maintenance issue (bushings on any watts equipped car will get worn). Easy fix..fix the differential cover..move hoses, replace bushings in the rears and watts attachment points (you can do this yourself).

The ac issue may be related to many high performance, high rpm motors. The rubber dampener between the pulley and inner drive magnetic base often separates from high rpm's. Remember, the ac compressor takes approx 10 hp to operate. Turning off the ac when going all in can help but remember at WOT the compressor automatically kicks off, but there is a time lag with this scenario. When you have it repaired you may only need the magnetic Kickin and pulley to get it going again. I doubt very much that the AC compressor is bad as a whole. Keep this in mind when you bring it to the dealer. Because I'm 90% certain that they will just try to sell you a new AC unit and everything else down stream of it. Anyway hope this was some help to you and your car. Not really a Ford guy but your Mustang is pretty Kick-Ass.
You said it all in the description. "On the way to the drag strip. Car began to leak from the differential." IRS axles don't like squat or hard launch. Yeah, the Shelby SS is supposed to be stronger, but more power equals more stress on everything else. Your car is using bushings that are meant to have a lot of deflection regardless, and thus more stress. If you've modified to hook better then you can multiply the stress by a lot lot more. In 25 years of drag racing and tracking, I've seen a lot of higher end cars break because the manufacturer cuts corners on the suspension, and Ford tops the list. Generally speaking, suspension upgrades are one of the first things you do before power adders and whatnot. On any vehicle.

Couple of comments here 1. Props for actually TRACKING the GT350R. I run track events regularly and we get a lot of them, but I see so many GT350's at car shows that barely see the outside of a garage, much less track day duty 2. Look into the oil starvation issues that have caused some of the engine failures on GT350's. The issue of motors blowing due to lack of having the required coolers (non R models) is well known and the 2017+ all have the coolers now I believe, but there's a lesser known issue where the oil pickup design can lead to oil starvation under certain circumstances and no amount of computer safeties can save a motor from that. 3. Hope Shelby gets this resolve for you quick. I have an 08 GT500 that I've done the same watts link on and I have the 13/14 diff cover on it as well and it's a TIGHT fit; I don't have a diff cooler yet so I can easily see diff cooler lines getting slapped by the watts arms. Not sure I buy the "lower and upper control arm bushings are worn" argument, especially on a 13 which is relatively new. I believe as part of the super snake package they replace the lower and upper control arms (Shelby-branded BMR suspension parts I believe) and those have poly bushings which are stiffer but poly can still deteriorate. Regardless, with the fays2 watts being an optional upfit on the super snake packages you'd hope that the Shelby engineers tested it for clearances first. Good luck!

First, a Watts Link has nothing to do with drag strip acceleration. So dead hooking means nothing. Its simple a suspension piece design to locate the axel left and right in the car. Its theoretically better than a Panhard bar in that the axle only moves slightly left and right when it droops out or compresses. I say theoretically because 1) Its heavier, and with the extra brackets might be more unsprung weight. 2) the roll center is typically higher - The mustangs of old (fox body etc) had a very low roll center on the front and you typically wanted to get the rear as low as practical. Not sure about the later models. More importantly, when you install a Watts link, the center pivot should be vertical when the car is at ride height, every picture you shown suggest that its not adjusted correct (probably the bolt on axle mounts not far enough apart). Bottom line, its not setup correctly and that should be taken care of as well as clearance checked. BTW, tire pressure should be check with cold tires. I agree if you race a car things are going to brake and ware out. I have an 2006 Mustang GT. I have upgraded quite a few things. I don’t do “burn outs” or do “donuts”. When I was your age I had a 1966 “Royal Bobcat” GTO. Incidentally that was the Year I graduated from high school. I didn’t do a lot of “burn out” then. Tires have always been expensive. I did take it to the drags 12.8 @ 108 mph in the quarter mile. A respectable time. I did go out at 0200 in the morning and race on Sunrise Blvd. See the last reel of “American Graffiti”. In High School I had a Canary Yellow ‘55 Chevy Bel Aire. It had a 327 fuel injected about 365 hp. It was sweet. Anyway I think your dealing with a design flaw.
I removed my watts link from my 2013 SuperSnake because it was causing me to burn through pinion gears and bearings. Since I traded it out for an adjustable panhard bar I haven't had any issues.
Once the GT350GT was on the lift the GT350R was then hitting the watts link due to shelby GT350R suspension not working, but I called shelby on my shelby GT350R and told them the shebly GT350R was at the track and also the GT350R was at ford to find repairs for the shelby GT350R
What does Shelby say after seeing the car? What kind of bushing has gone out? Is it possible to upgrade the bushing on the Watts linkage to a stronger material? How many miles are on your cars? How much of your driving is on the track or strip for each car?
the super snake is goin on 5 years old I would replace the bushings every 3 years mine have gone out as well on my regular gt. its a common thing not a issue bushing are designed to wear you can get harder bushing which should last longer and I'm guess your super snake has them but they will still wear as well .

You need to covert to the Ford Australia Watts Link set up as the Watts Link is mounted to the diff hat not a separate cross brace & the link arms are mounted to the chassis not the diff tubes
Carroll is out and won’t be getting back to you. Heim joints are bushings? They gonna replace your hard line with a rubber line? Typical furd lol. Diff cooler? Put a steel cover on it without an unnecessary “diff cooler” that adds weight, electronics and something else that will go wrong with a furd.
Ok, the clearance is so tight in there so maybe they are right about the control arm bushings but I don't believe it. How many miles on the car? Make sure you get polyurethane bushings in the control arms because the stock rubber ones do flex (just didn't think they flexed THAT much to cause a clearance issue with the rear end).
Went through 2 videos and still unclear if Shelby fixed the problem. Two beautiful cars, I had a 1968 Shelby GT-500 KR convertible one time, obviously wish I still had it.
If the watts link bushings wore out that fast I wouldn't let them replace those bushings I would tell him to take that piece of crap off and put in a adjustable track arm on there that's what I have on my Shelby it works perfect I have the same differential cover as you with the cooling lines mine has lots of clearance
So the coolant line has to big a fitting. Simple go to a hydraulic hose company have the same hose ends made on a longer line. Get a new diff cover and relocate the hole. Simple repair.

Wait till the GT350 vibrates the oil cap out of the cover, cracks the bellhousing or the track pack oil cooler breaks off due to all the excessive vibration from consistantly revving to 8,000.....the flat-plane-crankshaft engine is junk. Years of developing these in a testing facility you see these problems behind the scenes. Just wait....keep it up with those rev-limiting shifts.
bushings go out overtime, it's the nature of the game. faster the car, harder the launching, faster they go out. and your ac issue, I had that in my mustang. a quick recharge of the system and I haven't had the issue again.
The watts link isnt installed in a way that works with your 13-14 diff cooler. I have the same kit on my 2007 gt500 but it doesnt have those lines. It can be installed better so it will not come in contact when the suspension compresses.... it takes time to dial in the watts.... so it doesnt hit the over axle pipes, and in you case the diff cooler lines at the bottom. They should be able to install it better for you application.... blaming the bushings going out is probably bullsh*t imo

Props for the love of American muscles cars and bringing contents to all, even those who are jealous!
How did you not see all the clearance issuse in the 1st place Stevie Wonder?
LMFAO
How did the installer not see these problems?
George Garcia.... that's some funny shit right there 🤣🤣🤣
@@davecheney8501he made it way to easy I couldn't hold my smartassery in
lmao
@@GeorgeGarciadamuhfukinman ... Dude takes some Major heat in the comments lmao
And again, a 13 year old kid with a very nice vehicle. And I still live in a tent in the woods. WHY!
you live in a tent in the woods because you spend your time watching a 13 year old kid with a nice car.
Nick Jones priorities. Lol
Nick Jones Lol
Wow, you must have a really nice tent if you have Wi-fi. I bet you have really cool facial hair though.
Drinking game: Take a shot every time he says "super snake."
hahaha no doubt
Tried, but I passed out before the video ended!
Please don't do that you will be in the hospital
I’d be shit faced
Or gt350r
You're living my dream life buddy!!! Driving Shelby's and driving em how they were made to be driven, keep er up
I removed my watts link from my 2013 SuperSnake because it was causing me to burn through pinion gears and bearings.
I can't get enough of that super snake, my dream car.
Please never get rid of it
I like how he only likes the comment he wants to see and not what he needs to see.
How the hell can you afford both cars. Does your parents pay for them
Can you replace the rubber bushings with polyurethane bushings. Polyurethane stronger stiffer. Might last longer if that's the problem.
Tell your mom and dad to adopt me I’m hungry for a Shelby in my immune system.
At least he is being honest. He drives fast cars fast. I wouldn't want to buy a used one knowing how people would drive them. I am curious on where he could drive it fast. Certainly nowhere around where I live. Seattle-Tacoma area traffic sucks 24/7.
By the way, is that thing on your face penciled on? Ford technicians can work on all Shelby installed parts as long as they're certified. People in NY don't bring it back there, it's repaired at the dealer.
Watts has a solid centre mount off the rear diff housing, has to be bushing
Dude all your doing is bragging about driving your cars like you stole them and how much money your spending to fix them! Give it a rest, high performance vehicles are expensive we don't need to be told every 5 seconds!!!!
Shelby suspension wasnt made for 17 inch drag wheels
hes so fucking dumb
Bro i envy u. Im getting the 2019 shelby 350 next year and u have helped me alot. I Love ur cars bro. Do what u love and love what u do
Thanks for sharing your adventures in your very cool cars. Don’t be discouraged by idiots that are jealous of your success. All the best to you and your charming sister!
I hate how people who grew up poor have to leave nasty comments ,...Good for this kid if his well off parents bought him a car, ..In this life water seeks its own level, so if he and his family can afford it, God Bless , im glad hes having fun.
They won't fix it because he broke his dad's car, love ya dad's car kid.
TheDrlethalassasin 😡
You need to covert to the Ford Australia Watts Link set up as the Watts Link is mounted to the diff hat not a separate cross brace & the link arms are mounted to the chassis not the diff tubes
I'm a HUGE fan of all shelby cars and totally jealous right now! Glad they are going to address your issue. Definitely subbing so I can follow!
Those Shelbys are awesome! Keep doing you and making good videos!
Was the Watts linkage designed by Shelby to work with a rear axle fitted with a differential cooler? If not, that's the problem.
I envy you brother. I'd give my left nut just to ride shotgun with you in any of the cars you show on your channel. Piss on all these people running their mouth about you simply because they're green with you envy. Keep on posting, I'll keep watching
then im willing to give up my right nut so he can have some real nuts LOL
you can put me in the trunk just to feel the power of that fucking beast
Can you say gt350r one more time please??
Wait till the GT350 vibrates the oil cap out of the cover, cracks the bellhousing or the track pack oil cooler breaks off due to all the excessive vibration from consistantly revving to 8,000.....the flat-plane-crankshaft engine is junk. Years of developing these in a testing facility you see these problems behind the scenes. Just wait....keep it up with those rev-limiting shifts.
This vid should be titled " trials of a rich kid".
bushings go out overtime, it's the nature of the game. faster the car, harder the launching, faster they go out.
and your ac issue, I had that in my mustang. a quick recharge of the system and I haven't had the issue again.
You need to put a defrent link on the car if you can some how change it that could be a problem all the time
Would you still buy a GT500 2013-2014 does it share the super snake suspension system “ IE watts link cross member .. ?! What year is ur super Snake?
The watts link isnt installed in a way that works with your 13-14 diff cooler. I have the same kit on my 2007 gt500 but it doesnt have those lines. It can be installed better so it will not come in contact when the suspension compresses.... it takes time to dial in the watts.... so it doesnt hit the over axle pipes, and in you case the diff cooler lines at the bottom. They should be able to install it better for you application.... blaming the bushings going out is probably bullsh*t imo
The comment section is 90% older gentlemen being bitter over this young kid having a couple expensive cars. Makes me sad how jealousy converts into hate
It's not maintenance if parts are colliding, it's a design flaw
@jjw3579 no it's a design flaw. Dragsters run over 1000hp all the time. This car should have had an appropriate ladder in it.
Watts Link system needs a redesign with an angle.
Put a good set of control arms on it and be done with it. I mentioned this in the earlier thread where you were kind of throwing Ford under the bus , but not.....Yeah...
What was the conclusion from Shelby??
The conclusion was the kid will be a douche bag no matter what he drives !! lol!!
If it was a bushing causing the rear end to move enough to contact the watts link it had to be making a lot of clunking noises!
You bought a Snake and whining about a 200 mile tow! 1600 bucks for tires another whining! Whats a GT350R? So what did Shelby say after 10 min of GT350R?
If you look in a dictionary under the word Bubblegummer, there is a picture of this kid standing next to those cars.
10 minutes of my life i will never get back.
No wonder we don't see old commercial anymore. Quality at Ford is no longer job one.......
Bottom line Shelby engineers failed in the clearance on the rear end it should be covered
Spend 80,000+ on a car and treat it like shit all the time=broken car. Wow, real genius here. No sympathy, bro. None at all.
James Lee he’s not searching for sympathy dude. Stop being a hater your dad should’ve taught you not to worry about another mans pockets and not to be a hateful shmuck.
In my opinion ford should be able to fix it because if you really look at it shelby is fords srt like dodge. I know alot of people will disagree but thats how I see it. So yes I do see a shelby as a stock mustang but alot more rare.
Still whining about something you broke?....not ford or shelbys fault
if you had the money to pay for one. you would do the same thing!
I’m subbing because of all the haters calling it your dads car. Nice rides and people are simply jealous. GROWN ASS ADULTS hating because someone has nicer things. Imagine you took your hating energy and put that toward making your dreams come true?...
The way you drive the shit out of these vehicles you don't deserve to get warranty.
So whys it hitting from the factory or after market set up
Did u try to go to a low profile aftermarket mount that will let u clear the rear link ?
I hate trust fund kids
Yeah, it's hard to watch
If I had been one, I definitely wouldn't flaunt it on UA-cam or social media. It just makes you look like a douche. Nobody would turn down that much money coming in BUT you're either insecure and/or a complete narcissistic douche-bag to show it off.
Geez the kid has some nice cars and hes spending time making videos about them. Hes taking the time to learn about repairs and maintenance. Hopefully he picks up a wrench but maybe he doesn't who cares watch something else. Bunch of haters. Speed Phenom keep doing what you like.
I really want a 1978 Ford Mustang II King Cobra but pretty u cant find them anymore
Put modified control arm with solid bushings in them the ride will be stiff on the street
Nice cars but I could only afford a Focus RS I don't think I settled it's a blaster drive to I love the all-wheel drive
Hello people forget Ford & Shelby scenes now. I think the boy is too exited after watching "baby driver". Doesnt he look the same with that attire?
The way you treat your car with burn outs how do you expect to keep your Shelby for a long time
Hands down the best sounding street car
You beat the shit out of your cars and then expect the manufacturer to fix it. That makes no sense
Dude lookin like he about to remake Suberbad lmao
You'd never pull that shit in my neighborhood twice.
well if you want to fix a shelby get a old 90's part for it it will work just fine
Take a drink every time he says GT350R, 2 drinks GT500 Super Snake!....... Passed out @ 06:28..
Just some simple advise.... Stick to the title, too much run on about the Gt350 and not the SuperSnake, you just did a recap of what happened, this is technically considered true click bait
So a big company built hotrod is no better than the ones we build for ourselves, maybe worse?
Mom and daddy pay his bills
