I've seen traits of sonic adventure, adventure 2, sonic 06, even some sonic boom aspects like losing one ring per small damage and the grapple beam, and crash bandicoot oddly enough, on the level selector
Gameplay and level design looks really solid! I think the only thing that's missing is probably some hyper-action music like a lot of the Sonic games are known for. And maybe some UI design tweaking.

Amazing effort! The only thing I think this needs is more "setpieces" that set the levels more apart from eachother other than just aesthetic, like being chased by a whale in Sonic Adventure or having upside down sections as in Sonic Heroes. Other than that, there is definitely a great vision and attention to quality here, something that recent Sonic games have been sorely missing.
Man does this game have a lot going for it. The super engaging fast paced gameplay, the fantastic animations (especially since this a Dreams game if I'm not mistaken), the amazing sound design of the red rings, the robots AND THE SPINDASH?? This is peak Sonic right here, ladies n gents.
Man.... I clicked on this thing just to take a " *glance* "... and mannnnnnnnn my jaw was literally dropped the entire time.. I had to stop at 6:08 , cause I REALLY gotta get to work. But this obliterated my expectations. wow
From gameplay to level layout, to even art style. While unitended all of these things listed are comparable to the "Spiro The Dragon trilogy" from the PlayStation 1 era, if reoriented for Speed focused levels.
This is EPIC! I'm not kidding this feels like the golden age of Sonic and I love and miss this. This was thw stuff that made Sonic a household name and marverick of all of our childhoods. Please please please keep up the awesome work. People would ao buy this.
It honestly looks like an official Sonic game made for the PS3, Xbox 360, or Nintendo Wii! Kinda has the gameplay style of a Sonic Adventure 3! It's VERY well made! Im really excited for its future!

if sega was smart, they would buy this off him and remake it identically to sell, and then add some sega finishing touches, and do you know how big it would sell. a huge publisher, actually respecting the fans for the first time, just the sheer fact of that alone would skyrocket sales. anyone watching this for 2 minutes is impressed af when you turn on the game, and a picture of ONE guy comes up, and thenwords under it saying, thank you for being sonics best fan . your work and dedication are truly inspring, and we wish more companies let down their ego, and embraced the modern ability of fans to make as good or better content. or have him say, SAYYY GAAAA and a quick audio clip saying, I hope you like it! I just want to see some emeralds, the famous sonic 2 music, and super sonic. also knuckes and tails, who have differnt move sets. and last but not least a multiplayer battle sort of game, if you recall diddy kong racings battle game. just imagine all this speed and auto targeting another character doing the exact same, it would be a real DBZ fight!

Man Sony needs to port Dreams to PC. Imagine the influx of support the game and community would have. Not to mention how the tools could potentially advance with mods.

There's a part of me that would love to see a new Sonic game where Sonic wears a shoulder bag, like the one that he keeps his rings in in the live action movies. Maybe Tails could have his rucksack, or they could give Knuckles a bum bag/fanny pack. It'd certainly help in the cutscenes, so they don't have to resort to just pulling Chaos Emeralds out of nowhere! But who am I kidding? Sega would never alter Sonic's design again! They're still terrified of upsetting all the whiners who complained about Sonic's eye colour in Sonic 4!

Dreams is on the PS+ catalog. So most Sonic fans with a playstation can play it. At the very least.
