- 15/2758H - Ruth Morris Gray has created a spirited and artful setting of Shakespeare's flirtatious text from "Much Ado About Nothing." Also a fabulous choice for smaller ensembles, the piece includes a playful polyphonic chorus of "Hey, nonny, nonny-o" and an accompaniment featuring a driving rhythmic ostinato that underscores the ladies' cry "Men were deceivers ever. To one thing constant never. Sigh no more, ladies."
My choir Is practicing this sing for our festival concert currently.
My choir is learning this song and my teacher calls it the 'boys suck song'.
Nice 👌
same lol. Our choir only has girls so we just spend our entire day just dissing men lmao
Mine does too. Yes I know this was 3 years ago but that's alright
I randomly started thinking about this song and remembered that my choir sung this when I was in 8th grade. And yet, I can’t remember what I ate for dinner last night 😂🤦🏾♀️
My choir sung this and it was amazing
SAMEEE
my choir will be learning this soon:-)
I can’t explain to you how much I LOVE THIS SONG it’s so cool omg 😭😭 my choir is learning it for region and I’m so excited to sing it!!
I'm doing this in a small ensemble and it's so pretty! There's nothing particularly hard about the notes themselves but figuring out the rhythms and where you come in can be a tad bit tricky. All in all, though, it's really fun.
Singing this with my choir for all region! Love it!
Sigh no more, ladies, sigh nor more;
Men were deceivers ever;
One foot in sea and one on shore,
To one thing constant never;
Then sigh not so,
But let them go,
And be you blithe and bonny;
Converting all your sounds of woe
Into. Hey nonny, nonny.
Sing no more ditties, sing no mo,
Or dumps so dull and heavy;
The fraud of men was ever so,
Since summer first was leavy.
Then sigh not so,
But let them go,
And be you blithe and bonny,
Converting all your sounds of woe
Into. Hey, nonny, nonny.
My whole choir is gonna be doing this and were all excited!
My chior is learning this right now, and it's really fun to sing

I definitely had WAY too much fun singing this song in high school. I was going through a rough patch with a guy as we were learning it
I sang this song in high school 31 years ago, but the arrangement was very different. This was a beautiful rendition.

Same my choir is too
Sigh no more, ladies, sigh no more,
Men were deceivers ever;
One foot in sea, and one on shore,
To one thing constant never.
Then sigh not so,
But let them go,
And be you blith and bonny,
Converting all your sounds of woe
Into Hey nonny, nonny.
Sing no more ditties, sing no mo
Of dumps so dull and heavy;
The fraud of men was ever so,
Since summer first was leavy.
Then sigh not so,
But let them go,
And be you blith and bonny,
Converting all your sounds of woe
Into Hey nonny, nonny.
~ "Sigh No More" -William Shakespeare
Lovely performance. What chorus is that?
Great question! Our recordings are typically performed by professional singers that are contracted by a studio in the Indianapolis area!
My choir for contest Saturday
2:10 - 2:34 my favorite part
Most obnoxious part.... Actually
Miri Noa it’s not that bad
"Not that bad" bcz you said that EVEN to you.. It's not nearly that good either. Meh art is worse than art worth hating.
when singing this portion it feels like how it would feel if one is slowly going insane
😍🥺🥺love
Could somebody please explain the ornamentations/notations above certain bars in this choral score - the circles in squares with random numbers in them above random bars (measures for you Americans)? They appear to be surplus to any instructions for pianist or singers and do not appear in other editions of this score.

My classmate read this better than u sung it... Which my classmate did wonderful. Im not sure where as to plant my finger opposed to this song. Rather contradictory to the theme of the poem and maybe too theatrical when it is realy more of an alarming response to a reasonable conduct, speaking of an immoral silencing to women about the insincere behavior of man. Sigh no mo' ladies, sigh no mo'.
Utterly useless. Totally wrong music. Use THE film’s music by Patrick Doyle. The ON,Y music for this.
My choir sang this and it was amazing
