Apart from the ground clearance, it was one lovely car. Not sure if you would agree, but the Multijet sounded nicest in the Linea compared to any other car it shared its engine bay with. The first time i tested my friends Abarth punto in Kerala highways, i was simply blown away by its insane power. Whats funnier is that Abarth gives u no clue as to whats lurking inside the hood. Even the exhaust is just like the normal 1.2 Naturally aspirated petrol engines in the segment. But once i hit the accelerator, the massive torque followed by G force that throws us back on the seat was terrifyingly thrilling. Once you get used to the gear setup then its just point and shoot. The only downside in Abarth was a gearbox which did no justice and a completely messed up ergonomics that ruined an otherwise supreme beast on wheels. 👌👌👌

Great story Evo India... I have always been a great fan of Fiat. I have owned a Punto in the past and still haven't driven another car that is as involving to drive as the Punto, this side of 20 lacs. Those days these were one of the best cars. Still remember chasing an adventure in my bike to take a closer look at it. Regret not been in that generation of buyin a Fiat. Best diesel in class .. Italian stallion
Punto was my love at first sight car! Drove for ten years and literally had wet eyes when I bade it goodbye! I drive the Sonet now, but Fiat & Punto will always have a special place in my heart! ❤️ It also was the first car I bought myself. Oh the memories! 🥹🥹

Picked up a Fiat palio stile 2008 basic , used it for 5 years & man o man what a beauty . Engine response was good & a fantastic milage ( diesel ) of 22- 23. 5 km/ l n that too at 120 - 150 speeds , never had to shift for overtaking once you've reached a speed of 60kmph . been taking curves at high speeds with no roal . Have done 600 kms stretches , beautiful handaling in city n Highway the only drawback was spared n showroom response . Picked up this car after it had done 130000 km , I did bout 70000 km n the connecting conked out , spent rs.60000/ the engine came back to life , did another 40000km but had to sell it cause o non availability / expensive spares . All said n done a lovely car for paved roads ( low clearance ) . Have picked up a Punto Emotion but planning to sell it n buy a ritz .
My father has that amazing adventure. That car is an absolute gem.I’m so used to being in that car I hate all new cars. The engine the Fiat is mind bogglingly good.Still runs today and if it were upgraded with a turbo I’m sure it would do 200hp
Oh man.. thanks for this video. I too own a Fiat and I can only say it's one of my best decision. Fiat is not just a car ..there is whole life in it. 🎉🎈
Awesome video. I'm glad to see a video that has given the Palio Stile some credit. I own a 2008 Palio Stile MJD and am unable to part with it even after 13 years. The car has done over 1.25L KM and has been the most reliable of the cars I've owned. She is really close to my heart!
@@evoIndia Sold my Palio Stile in December and felt a very deep void in my life. Felt like I had made a mistake selling something that had lived with me for such a long time...you see a lot of ups n downs in 13 years. Anyway, as I said couldn't bear the loss and then did something stupid.... Got myself a pre-worshipped Abarth Punto 😈Life is good now!
i still to this date have a fiat palio stile slx petrol. been 17 years now and the car has really outlasted the roads. 3,50,000+ kilometers driven still starts and runs smoothly. yes minor issues here and there but nothing that could not be fixed. recently had an issue with the clutch plate so my father had it specially fabricated with the help of a mechanic and oh god it is such a pleasure to drive. God Bless that car. need both the fpg lamps grills the only thing which is giving trouble cause cannot find it anywhere. leads would be helpful to preserve this gem!
Proud owner of Punto Evo Emotion 2015. Clocked 1.2L kms till date and no sign of it slowing down. Haven't had any trouble with the performance and the quality is amazing. It's still fit n fine 😎👍🏻. Would continue to drive it as long as I can... 👌🏻👌🏻👌🏻👍🏻🥰
Super Video There should be 1.9 and 1.2 also in this test but finding them in pristine condition is difficult. Nevertheless one and only my old favorite auto journalist sirish cared about palio fans and made a episode on queens of the 2000 era. Gone but not forgotten series has won millions of hearts . One more thing Sirish’s smile is always connected to throttle response 😊. Long live the EVO.

Every Fiats are so well made that they last for decades easily. Only trouble is getting the spares/ a mechanic that is expertised in Fiats. But when you consider the reliability, Fiats are the best.
greetings from Brasil! over here the FIat Palio is a very popular car, actually the last variant of this model was sold here until 2021, was the lightweight pick-up truck Strada and even having such an old project, still was the leader in sales in the category and today Fiat sells a new version of the Strada but in a modern platform here most of the Palio cars was sold with a 1,0 litre FIRE flex engine (it accepts petrol or ethanol, or even a mix of both in any proportion) and is a very popular cheap used car, and is a very easy sight on brazilian roads, but we don't have any diesel engines in these cars (actually in brazil any vehicles that aren't trucks, lorries, buses or 4x4 with low gear can't legally have diesel engines) we also have a sports version, the Palio 1.8R, with 115 hp a good trivia aswell: the Palio Adventure was designed in Brazil and most of the Weekend models was sold in this trim level over here, and we have this trim level for the Strada pick-up aswell
Brilliant review....i have owned the palio, uno and still own the linea....thank you for this video....wish you make many more videos with some great cars that were launched in india that didnt appeal to most of us back then, but feel nostalgic when we see them in such videos. Thank you!!!
Drove a Palio 1.2 petrol for 14 years and now a Linea 1.3 MJD. I have enjoyed the safety and comfort of the cars for so long. They make cars for driving pleasure... Sad they packed up...
Would you recommend getting a used abarth ? ( For enthusiast , I don't mind single digit mileage but availability of parts is a concern for me ) Inputs from car owners would help...thanks
Fiat made a mistake by signing partnership with Tata . When we gone to buy a Fiat , that Tata guy was more interested in selling Vista but we chosen fiat Punto 1.3 multijet in 2013 , and now in 2021 with 80,000 km My Punto is still an beast and also many people are amused and asks which car is this 😊
Very good and very well made video, i think evo India nailed it. I felt like I'm watching foreign video, content and delivery is spot on. Gained a subscriber today.
Shirish - Gone but Not forgotten is one of the best things EVO has given the Auto Enthusiast to Look and cherish the glorious Automotive past we had back till 2010 It really pains that really good cars cos (catering to Enthusiast) could not cater to like of Indian consumers.. Ford, Mitsubishi, Fiat, VW, Cars like Yeti, X trail, Corsa, Adventure, Peugot 307 were not understood well Also what pains is the todays craze for SUV, mini suv, Soft roaders, which have undermined all other forms of automotive body styles. and with Electric being a neartime reality ... Words like Turbocharged, Supercharged and boost will be things of past.. Keep up the good work buddy.. more power to you...🙂
Clocked 2 lakhs in my Palio 1.9 a few weeks ago. My son uses a Punto, I also had a Petra 1.6 but had to sell it due to lack of parking space. I do have a Duster 110PS but prefer my 1.9D as my daily ride.
My Dad bought the Fiat Uno back in 1999 or 2000. We had it for 18 years. In that particular showroom it was the last Uno with Carburetors and did not have Power Steering. We got a decent discount on it. It was a TN38 registration :) The memories are all coming back now. Just a shame that Fiat is gone.
I am so lucky that i own the abarth punto and get the best service from fiat easy availability of spare parts too in pune fiat showroom where jeep has owned that showroom i loved their cars and i am planning to buy the compass to ❤️❤️
@@mukeshraheja8969 it itself is a costly car than others in this segment and it is a good deal if parts and other things of the car are in good condition..finding parts may be a problem but price at which the car is available will compensate that..try getting more discount if at all available..
My father was a great fan of Fiat. His first car was a FIAT 1100 Delight. He drove it for over 2 lakh kilometres. We later had the FIAT SIENNA 1.7 Turbo DIESEL which was later replaced by a FIAT PETRA 1.9 DIESEL. Fiat tried their best and bought in the best India had ever seen. Sometimes I feel they were little ahead of their times. Always a car that one will buy with thair heart and will never regret
I cried.... I do that each time I see the Punto Abarth. Because that was the time I was out in the market to buy my second car... First one being the Palio. My heart used to pull me towards Abarth or even the Linea Tjet. But the agony was such that Fiat who was headquartered in Mumbai did not have any showroom in the city.... only Fiat can do this. Also, despite die hard lover of Abarth and Tjet... I dared not to test drive even once because then all sense would then go out of the window and heart would get me a Fiat.... But this time I had to let the head rule... and got myselves a Hyundai Verna.
absolutly amazing .. true Fiat Fan . we had the Fiat Seina 1.6 which we bought in 1999 . what an amazing car , beautiful and we kept it untill 2013 . Well my Fiat Seina was rare thing onthe road , more rare than a Ferari . i adored my car . thanks Sirish for this episode , would have loved to see the Seina . also here
Fiat brings tons of nostalgia, remebering the sleek siena which I saw often on the road during my school days, dont remember why, but I loved those looks. Later during college being in a UNO in which I felt speeding above 100 but while actually doing 60 kmph 😬 And later during early years of my career when I started appretiating vintage cars I started falling in love with 118's , Padminis(I consider them as fiat at heart). I do remeber going to Delhi Auto Expo where they showcased an abarth puntho and clicking some nice pics of it and a close up on the cool scorpion logo. But sadly I never brought a Fiat.
I believe Those who never owned a FIAT are now wanting a FIAT but... the time is over, like it is said, Good things never last forever. I am a proud owner but i will always live in a regret that i could not own an ABARTH. Waiting for FIAT to do a come back.
Would love to see Mitsubishi in the next episode. I have been your fan since the Overdrive Days, love your work, Sirish. Evo India is doing a fab job. Keep it up!
I drive the face-lift emotion Linea in beautiful Sun beam gold shade. It is very difficult to think of replacement in 20 lakh territory today. It's a special Car and unparalleled expressway cruiser.
Had a silver Palio 1.6GTX. You could forgive its 6kmpl mileage for the performance and build. It might not be upto today’s standards but back in the day when there were Zens and 800s it was truly a tank. Bought a Palio multi jet in 2008. Man….how they cut corners. No where as well put together as the old one. Big mistake. But the old Palio will always be among the greatest hits.
I owned Fiat Linea which is gorgeous as you said but there are many ways to call it like beast, monster and what not, it's 9 years old but never put my lips down on road...I love to grab it's steering and I'll for few more years.....

@@evoIndia I'm going to hit that subscribe button and you deserve it :) , Cheers 🙏👍
Those days these were one of the best cars. Still remember chasing an adventure in my bike to take a closer look at it. Regret not been in that generation of buyin a Fiat. Best diesel in class .. Italian stallion
Palio was my first car. Ahead of its time. Thank you for this.
Punto was my love at first sight car! Drove for ten years and literally had wet eyes when I bade it goodbye! I drive the Sonet now, but Fiat & Punto will always have a special place in my heart! ❤️ It also was the first car I bought myself. Oh the memories! 🥹🥹
I was waiting so badly for this video since the post came on instagram. Literally this is Automobile journalism , this is how it should be. Only real enthusiasts can do it . Absolutely meaningful slogan - #Forenthusiastsbyenthusiasts . Thank you guys ........lots of love❤❤
Enthusiasts 💪🏻💪🏻💪🏻💪🏻
Thank you so much for this video! Who better than Sirish to profile these icons.
The heart still skips a beat whenever i see one of these beauties. The college crushes you never get 😁
Glad you liked it!
That Abarth has been taken good care of.
My dad still owns Fiat Linea no complains till now . Punto Abarth is on my wishlist 😍
My punto sports 90 hp. What a fabulous car to be in.
Thank you so much for the video @evo india.
Every fiat is quite hard to get replaced...
Its an endless love story....
Welcome 🙏
Oh man.. thanks for this video. I too own a Fiat and I can only say it's one of my best decision. Fiat is not just a car ..there is whole life in it. 🎉🎈
That's really true words for this brand
I still drive a Fiat linea T Jet and I am still in love with the machine
I miss all those gems . Now what to do is think about it and cry inside a tin dabba
Awesome video. I'm glad to see a video that has given the Palio Stile some credit. I own a 2008 Palio Stile MJD and am unable to part with it even after 13 years. The car has done over 1.25L KM and has been the most reliable of the cars I've owned. She is really close to my heart!
The MJD engine is a legend
@@evoIndia Sold my Palio Stile in December and felt a very deep void in my life. Felt like I had made a mistake selling something that had lived with me for such a long time...you see a lot of ups n downs in 13 years. Anyway, as I said couldn't bear the loss and then did something stupid.... Got myself a pre-worshipped Abarth Punto 😈Life is good now!
No one can beat the abarth punto. What a car man
I Love These Old Cars and Your Series ,You are The Man👍 , No One Making Classic Cars Videos , You Deserve OwnTv Show.
Having driven Abarth punto for 70k. i can confidently say it is really really comfy.
i still to this date have a fiat palio stile slx petrol. been 17 years now and the car has really outlasted the roads.
Never slow down…
Super Video There should be 1.9 and 1.2 also in this test but finding them in pristine condition is difficult. Nevertheless one and only my old favorite auto journalist sirish cared about palio fans and made a episode on queens of the 2000 era. Gone but not forgotten series has won millions of hearts . One more thing Sirish’s smile is always connected to throttle response 😊. Long live the EVO.
Thank you for the kind words 😁
Please continue this series "Gone but not forgotten". Gives nostalgic feelings .
We have forgotten these .
A video every month we promise
@@evoIndia Thank U
Thanks Evo this really made me tear up... I have always been a Fiatian had a Punto GP, Linea Tjet and now a awesome Avventura in my garage
Love the brand that puts a smile on my face each time to get on the road

Is it worth to buy a second hand avventura 2016 model?
How is your car doing?
@@mukeshraheja8969 no issues with the avventura spares are available and service centers are friendly. Please do take one if you are getting it's worth it
@@sajands1 thanks..maintenance etc kaisi hai? Mtlb jada costly to nhi hai na
@@mukeshraheja8969 I get the car serviced once a year and the cost of service with tax is 10k and spares are almost equal to maruti baleno and easy to maintain and long lasting
This guy presentation is killing other journalists.. bro people need this kind of video thanks a lot ❤️
Every Fiats are so well made that they last for decades easily. Only trouble is getting the spares/ a mechanic that is expertised in Fiats. But when you consider the reliability, Fiats are the best.

greetings from Brasil!
over here the FIat Palio is a very popular car, actually the last variant of this model was sold here until 2021, was the lightweight pick-up truck Strada and even having such an old project, still was the leader in sales in the category and today Fiat sells a new version of the Strada but in a modern platform
here most of the Palio cars was sold with a 1,0 litre FIRE flex engine (it accepts petrol or ethanol, or even a mix of both in any proportion) and is a very popular cheap used car, and is a very easy sight on brazilian roads, but we don't have any diesel engines in these cars (actually in brazil any vehicles that aren't trucks, lorries, buses or 4x4 with low gear can't legally have diesel engines)
we also have a sports version, the Palio 1.8R, with 115 hp
a good trivia aswell: the Palio Adventure was designed in Brazil and most of the Weekend models was sold in this trim level over here, and we have this trim level for the Strada pick-up aswell
Brilliant review....i have owned the palio, uno and still own the linea....thank you for this video....wish you make many more videos with some great cars that were launched in india that didnt appeal to most of us back then, but feel nostalgic when we see them in such videos. Thank you!!!
So glad you enjoyed this episode!
The smile on Sirish's face while driving says it all
21:21 that's the reason why I'd put 2 cushions underneath me while I drive linea! I really had tireless long drives. A 600 km on a single day!
Man, I remember the Fiat Uno. I used to go to school in that everyday. Always wanted a palio.
Second hand 🤔
Drove a Palio 1.2 petrol for 14 years and now a Linea 1.3 MJD. I have enjoyed the safety and comfort of the cars for so long. They make cars for driving pleasure... Sad they packed up...
I owned one s10, it's a nostalgic moment on seeing this video, thanks man, fiat s10 has lack of spare parts in my city
Great video, if I move to India, the Sachin s10 will be one of the cars in garage for sure.
Feels lucky to own the beast . Ultimate Abarth punto ❤️ . Pure thrill . Thanks team EVO for this series .
🤗🙏
Would you recommend getting a used abarth ? ( For enthusiast , I don't mind single digit mileage but availability of parts is a concern for me )
Inputs from car owners would help...thanks
Evo india knows what pulls enthusiasts heart strings❤
Fiat made a mistake by signing partnership with Tata .
When we gone to buy a Fiat , that Tata guy was more interested in selling Vista but we chosen fiat Punto 1.3 multijet in 2013 , and now in 2021 with 80,000 km My Punto is still an beast and also many people are amused and asks which car is this 😊
Now that's a video worthy of being weighed in gold. Evo team please review such past beauties
🤩
Proud owner of 2019 Abarth punto from last lot.
Awesome
Very good and very well made video, i think evo India nailed it. I felt like I'm watching foreign video, content and delivery is spot on. Gained a subscriber today.
Awesomeness 🤗
Shirish - Gone but Not forgotten is one of the best things EVO has given the Auto Enthusiast to Look and cherish the glorious Automotive past we had back till 2010
It really pains that really good cars cos (catering to Enthusiast) could not cater to like of Indian consumers..
Ford, Mitsubishi, Fiat, VW, Cars like Yeti, X trail, Corsa, Adventure, Peugot 307 were not understood well
Also what pains is the todays craze for SUV, mini suv, Soft roaders, which have undermined all other forms of automotive body styles. and with Electric being a neartime reality ... Words like Turbocharged, Supercharged and boost will be things of past..
Keep up the good work buddy.. more power to you...🙂
That Fiat Punto Abarth looks awesome man!, definitely a collector's car.
True such a shame fiat has gone
I am proud to be a FIAT Punto Owner as of now 15 years completed still it's rocking....
I am so lucky that i own the abarth punto and get the best service from fiat easy availability of spare parts too in pune fiat showroom where jeep has owned that showroom i loved their cars and i am planning to buy the compass to ❤️❤️
Palio was a very different and modern looking car and punto avventura is still one of the best looking hatchback or crossover with a great engine
Is it worth to buy second hand avventura in 2021in 1.5L?
@@mukeshraheja8969 it itself is a costly car than others in this segment and it is a good deal if parts and other things of the car are in good condition..finding parts may be a problem but price at which the car is available will compensate that..try getting more discount if at all available..
You may try some sites who deal with second hand cars to know the market price of this
@@psen.9659 5 year old with 50K run..1L is good for that?
@@mukeshraheja8969 yes and not much km is done
My father was a great fan of Fiat. His first car was a FIAT 1100 Delight. He drove it for over 2 lakh kilometres. We later had the FIAT SIENNA 1.7 Turbo DIESEL which was later replaced by a FIAT PETRA 1.9 DIESEL.
Fiat tried their best and bought in the best India had ever seen. Sometimes I feel they were little ahead of their times. Always a car that one will buy with thair heart and will never regret
So true!
Crazy to think that they didn’t have a dealer in Mumbai when Abarth was launched!!!!
absolutly amazing .. true Fiat Fan . we had the Fiat Seina 1.6 which we bought in 1999 . what an amazing car , beautiful and we kept it untill 2013 . Well my Fiat Seina was rare thing onthe road , more rare than a Ferari . i adored my car . thanks Sirish for this episode , would have loved to see the Seina . also here
As you said, Siena rarer than a Ferrari 😂
My dad used to have red fiat adventure sport! It was such a head-turner
Such a rarity

Oh Yeah,,, Happy having a Fiat Palio S10 🤩🤩
Proudly own one of the 1st lot S10s and T-Jet.... petrol head forever!!!!
👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
I believe Those who never owned a FIAT are now wanting a FIAT but... the time is over, like it is said, Good things never last forever. I am a proud owner but i will always live in a regret that i could not own an ABARTH. Waiting for FIAT to do a come back.
Will they come back? Million dollar question
Bringing classic retro cars is much needed, nostalgia vibes

It's a great car, had to sell mine coz I cudnt find anyone who knew to repair it. It was so smooth and well built.
Would love to see Mitsubishi in the next episode.
I have been your fan since the Overdrive Days, love your work, Sirish.
Evo India is doing a fab job. Keep it up!
Thank you! On Mitsubhishi soon 👍🏼
And the gorgeous wheels on the GTX, even better than the S10
I owned Fiat Linea which is gorgeous as you said but there are many ways to call it like beast, monster and what not, it's 9 years old but never put my lips down on road...I love to grab it's steering and I'll for few more years.....
Fiats are ❤️! Still miss my Fiat Palio 1.3 Diesel, such a great car it was!
If 1.3 multijet diesel would be upgraded to bs6 .. i bet it would be still best selling engine
My uncle had Fiat Siena.. can tell you it was a fucking rocket and build quality was miles ahead of Maruti esteem.
Ahhh!!!!! If you remember, while you shot this video, I was driving my fiat dynamic and you had to stop in between till I cross over. It's such ana amazing feeling to see this video, wish I had stop my back and meet you. Next time, you roll in here let me know 👍😀
Wish I could give it a million likes. The Abarth, My first car, my only car, possibly the last car I will buy with as much enthusiasm (unless I hit a crores worth jackpot). Boy do I have stories to tell... ❤️ Only thing missing in the video is the Fiat Uno.
True that and you also have a Fiat connection as well
Thank you! Uno deserves a separate video in itself and will come in time
@@evoIndia That's a good idea. A car that grossed 2.97lac bookings in India, giving Maruti the jitters, surely deserves a special mention.
