Jim I one of the few such rated aerobatic / gyroplane pilots in the world to have such FAA approval. His product line is one of the best if not THE best. This ain't your daddys gyrocopter... unless your Jim Vanek.....
It's a different license than Helicopter. There are multiple types of licenses you can hold for this as there are different categories. The hour requirements are different for each one. A quick search for "gyroplane license requirements" will get you the info. Also found in the FAR/AIM book.
I am a gyro instructor and I am quite impressed with the roll, be interested to see how the sport copter stacks up against arrow or Autogyro, I guess time will tell. Trixy is coming on well lately too
somewhere i've seen it written that some kind of "permission/approoval " must recieved from the FAA? based on vehicle and or mostly the pilot ability to do a lateral roll over. Possible sure but rotation must not be stopped, keeping pressure on the "bottom" side of the rotor will allow it work. Enough power to push through this position and strong enough rotor blades so they don't break is required. regards,
I've started evaluating the different makes of gyrocopters. It's tough to determine how Sport Copters compare with Magni, Arrow-Copter, Cavalon, etc. It's becoming an obsession. I have 29 hours in a Robinson R-22, and this certainly looks like a more affordable sport.

Do you need a regular helicopter pilot's license? How many hours does it take to get licensed?
Call Sport Copter for an exact quote. This machine is about 36K less engine and prop. The price of the engine varies with the economy.
Rolling a gyro?!? How is that even possible?
How much?
Ахренеть... Всё. Коплю на Спорткоптер)))
