I personally prefer A certain scientific railgun rather than A certain magical index by far, the first one is like a city filled of people with powers going from level 0 (no power) to level 5 (there are only 7). The protagonist is Misaka the 3th ranked also called railgun, the thing I was most attracted to this anime was the abilities, for example, Misaka can control electricity however she doesnt limit herself to throw lightnings like the typical electricity users in other animes, she can create a magnetic field to walk on walls, power up a shot like a railgun... Btw index is more about magic and religion things mixed with the scientific stuff, I only watched it for accelerator who is the first ranked level 5, kinda like an antihero

This is the basics because the plot is gonna take way too long to get into.

While the heads of the city conduct inhumane experiments on the students, the main character fights against the underground organizations that try to keep this experiments a secret, either to protect her friends or because of her past...well it's a lot more than this,nobody is gonna give you a small description of this anime
