    In this video we provide several tips to write a successful NSF CAREER proposal. Dr. Silvestri has been awarded the NSF CAREER award in 2020. Since then, he has served in several CAREER panels, spoke as a panelist in several NSF CAREER workshops, and gathered feedback from NSF Program Officers and senior colleagues on how to write a successful CAREER proposal.
    In this video, Dr. Silvestri shares this experience to help you write your CAREER proposal and maximize the chances of acceptance.
    Bio: Dr. Silvestri is currently an Associate Professor and Director of Graduate Studies in Computer Science and Computer Engineering at the University of Kentucky. Before joining UK, Dr. Silvestri was a Post-Doctoral Research Associate in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering at Pennsylvania State University. He received his Ph.D. in Computer Science in 2010 from the Department of Computer Science of the Sapienza University of Rome, Italy. Dr. Silvestri's research is funded by several national and international agencies such as NIFA, NATO and the NSF, and he received the NSF CAREER award in 2020. He published more than 80 papers in international journals and conferences including IEEE Transactions on Mobile Computing, IEEE Transactions on Smart Grids, ACM Transactions on Sensor Networks, IEEE INFOCOM, and IEEE ICDCS. He served in the organizing committee of several international conferences including as General Co-Chair of IEEE ICNP, Technical Program Co-Chair of IEEE SECON, IEEE SmartComp, and IEEE DCOSS. He also served in the Technical Program Committee of more than 100 conferences, including IEEE INFOCOM, IEEE ICNP, IEEE SECON and IEEE GLOBECOM.

    Nice! I was fortunate enough to win the Career in my first attempt. It did very positively change the trajectory of my career. These are all great tips that I agree on, especially: Don't neglect the the educational plan or assign it five lines as a afterthought. Do read funded proposals, if possible with their panel reviews. Finally, some people feel that a career proposal win is both necessary and sufficient for tenure. Neither is the case. Many successful profs did not win it, but went on to have amazing careers. Don't stress too much ;-)

      How to write a project highly depends on where you are planning to submit it. Could you be more specific?
