Just saw you live with gloryhammer. Awesome show and fantastic live performance. Only comment I’ll make is I feel like your voice is more suited to sonata arctica style music or symphonic metal. That being said, I’m expecting the next gloryhammer album to be a banger that fully utilizes your vocals as the 2023 one felt a bit transitory though still awesome.
Love it. Just one question - you play this in half-step detuned, with a drop D (actually C#) - C# G# C# F# A# d# - , enabling those nice power chords using the lower 3 strings with 1 finger. It sounds great, by the way. But all the tunings I see on the tabs spread around the net list it as just half-step detuned, without the dropped lower string (i.e. with a D#/Eb as the lowest note, meaning that you'd have to play a power chord on the 5th fret, starting on the A-string to get the root of the song). Is that an addition that you made to improve the sound, or is it how you believe it's played? Because I've listened to the times the song goes back to the root a LOT, and I can't say that I hear the low note in there *on guitar at least.* Anyway, I love that you transcribed the vocal harmonies and sang them all. This project must have taken you forever. Subscribed!
Hey Volcanoman, sorry for the late reply! to be honest I never noticed that they play the root minor chord on the 5th fret. It made sense to me to downtune and I just assumed that SA might have downtuned as well. Glad you liked this one, took me ages indeed :)
