Why tf are our teachers forced to sign an oath to Israel?
It’s not just the teachers. Hurricane Harvey Victims have to sign a pledge not to boycott Israel before they can receive any assistance, and more importantly, any US Senator or congressman are forced to sign an oath to support Israel before they can get to office. You should also wonder why Presidential candidates, with no exception, govbefore AIPAC kiss the lobby’s ass and compete on who loves Israel more before every elections.
I imagine the school was a public Texas school that contracted Bahia as an independent speech pathologist. That is probably why this came about.
I pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States of Israel??! Wow when you actually thought you and everyone around you was “All American” in a country you always knew as the USA... but you’re actually not. This is absolutely hurtful and shocking😳
@@hichamrocks your points are pretty interesting, can you please share with me any explicit excerpt of US federal or state law that clearly requires presidential candidates to support Israel or not boycott it? I am aware of anti BDS laws in 26 states but I am not aware of other laws that require politicians to support Israel. I would like to use this argument but I need the actual text from the law
@@commonsensedude6211 there’s no Federal law as of yet, but at least 28 states have passed laws with the same content but under different names, all of them are against “BDS” and they require anyone who does business with the state or a sub-contractor for the state to sign a pledge to not boycott any Israeli products.
Also, former Senator Cynthia McKinney, spelled the beans on the fact that when she was running for re-election she was approached by Zionist lobbyists who gave her a document to sign that was a pledge to support Israel when she refused to sign it, they starved her campaign from donations and they throw all their financial and logistical support to her opponent which resulted in her loss at the elections. You can find clips of her talking about this issue in detail.

Christian Evangelicals - who by the way, are largely responsible for the election of the president - want Israel to succeed because they believe that success will help fulfill the end times prophecy and bring the second coming of Jesus Christ. I imagine that the school is a public Texas school which contracted out Bahia as an independent contractor. That is why this occurred. I don't think the teachers have to sign such a document. I just checked my own state school contract, and as a teacher, it is assumed that I swear an oath to " the constitution and laws" of my state, but I don't have to sign extra paperwork like Bahia had to. So if it applies to teachers, we don't see it.

I know. This was never told to the public in Texas. I’ve lived here for 15 years and this is the first time I’ve heard about this law. Texas is messed up. The kids here have to do a Pledge of Allegiance to the Texas flag in school!

@Righteousbyfaith Exactly what ideology would that be? I am unaware of any ideology that has been designated to be specifically "American." It's my understanding that everyone is free to follow whatever ideology they so choose, in as much as it doesn't impinge on the rights, freedoms & property of others. & if it does then we already have laws in place to address that and the motivations behind those impingements are inconsequential. To create a class of legally recognized hate crimes is simply a broadening of what is deemed legally recognized hate speech which is itself a violation of first ammendment rights. Hate speech is exactly what the first ammendment was created to protect. This is made evident by the simple fact that it's unnecessary to protect love speech, no one has ever been prevented from saying something nice about someone or something. These crimes are created as the first step in the evolution of regulating ALL speech & behavior which is not freedom, it's communism.

Yes. Write your state representatives and remind them that such laws directly oppose the constitution, and that when they take office, they take an oath to protect the constitution against enemies both foreign and domestic. If they support laws which literally supersede the constitution, then they are essentially committing treason. Because they are placing foreign interests above the Constitutional Rights of United States Citizens. I have found that when you spell this out clearly to representatives, they snap out of whatever insane party lines they are walking, and move to become more independent, because they clearly see then that they are being led astray from their oath of office and also from their duty to this country and its citizens. IF they don't snap out of it, then it's time to replace them. Do not allow ANY lawmaker to stay in office if they continue to support these types of laws. They shouldn't be doing so in the first place.. just shows you how idiotic more than half these people are. They cannot think for themselves - they simply follow party lines … even if it means pushing the entire country off a cliff.

As an aside, we Irish created The Boycott as an action - which actually takes its name from an English officer by the same name, who was so hated by the Irish town he ended up at that the whole town refused to talk to or serve him and his family, making them utter pariahs in the area. British people say someone is “Sent to Coventry” when someone is ignored, but in stepping ‘Coventry’ up a gear the mass Irish snubbing turned Boycott, the man, into boycott, the internationally known word and action, which today has much more currency around the world.
In a modern echo, relations between Ireland and Israel are *extremely* icy - so much so that Israel is closing its mission in Ireland, as one of a tiny number of missions around the world it’s closing. The Irish Government constantly criticizes Israel’s actions over Palestine; councils all over Ireland often fly Palestine’s flag from Town/City Halls in solidarity with Palestinians - but never, ever Israel’s flag - and there’s widespread public sympathy for Palestinians, and criticism of Israel’s government, and particularly of Netanyahu, who is universally regarded in Ireland as a venally corrupt, dangerous thug and bully who helps keep Israel and Palestine mired in conflict rather than honestly attempting to broker peace and end the occupation.
In return, Israel regards Ireland as anti-Semitic (which is utter nonsense) and siding with Palestine’s Hezbollah terrorists (more nonsense), as relations continue to sour between the two countries - a stance not helped by Israel using forged Irish passports to assassinate a Hezbollah leader some years back. You can lose your job for not signing what is basically a loyalty oath to Israel? Incredible, but true. So the country that imposes sanctions on other countries as if it were a hobby, makes it illegal for its citizens to support a boycott of Israeli products? What happened to that teacher in Texas is simply an injustice. A woman of Palestinian descent was expected to swear she would not support any boycott of Israel and because she refused to sign that document, she lost her job. That is something that used to happen in communist or totalitarian countries. There you had to swear allegiance to the ruling party or dictator, here you have to swear allegiance, for all intents and purposes, to a foreign country? This has to be unconstitutional, but who will have the courage to take it to the Supreme Court? What judge will dare declare these laws unconstitutional, so that the Supreme Court can hear the case? That judge may lose his job as well or be recalled or smeared. This is serious, but you can blame our politicians. I mean, it's just a matter of simple justice and common sense.
