hey seth i have a problem because there is wd40 on my disc brakes and now it brakes not good any more i clean it but it didnt work what to do ??? i really like your videos i am really good with downhill mtb i am in trek world racing downhill but can you help me thanks
Seth, for your next walmart bike series. Instead of Walmart, go to a good/average bike shop and get the cheapest bike there or one of the cheapest and test tht out. See if its any good even tho its in a bike shop, or is it better than the walmart bike! Thanks Seth keep it up!
looking back at this video in 2016 and seeing the question I asked amazed me. now I am working in a bike shop and I love my Job in high school! thanks Seth for making UA-cam great!
hi Seth, found your channel recently and I think it's top quality. Best thing is that you seem to be able to realize the points preventing beginners / improvers from making progress and then give fairly specific advice on how to overcome them. It's a rare quality among pros ( in any field really ). I also like the compact format and relaxed narrative. The whole thing looks cool and motivating. You and Richard Kelly from IMB are now my favorite mtb tutors. Thanks!
Gotta love the sound of gunfire as you ride the trails. It adds motivation! I love riding the levy from Coral Springs to the park. The have the signs warning you of stray bullets and ricochets .
I am late to the party. I am caught up on your current stuff but I am enjoying the deep cuts. 9:04 I am glad you took the risk to make UA-cam your full-time job. You are an inspiration to this 50-year old MAMIL.
Not gonna lie But by far the best, the ultimate UA-cam channel, you easily deserve more subscribers than many others but keep up the amazing content and don't die crashing into a tree ;) or something like that. :)
Seth can you do a video on fat bikes? Maybe you could rent one and do a ride video and review? They are all the rage now and I would be interested to hear your take on them.
I found using a shorter stem like 50mm or less helps me draw the bars in closer shifts my weight further back and helps me sit up more. I'm 6ft1 on a 19inch frame and ride a 40mm and 50mm stem on my all mountain and downhill bikes all day without much back pain now. now it's fingers hurting lol
+Jon Basham I've done the same, 40mm stem with 15 degree rise and it seems to help a lil bit. just wanted to see if seth had any cool hacks. you should try the ergon grips for numb fingers
+robert le Okay this might be too obvious but just better to get it out of the way. Is your saddle height right? Too high causes the hips to move side to side and that usually causes pain.
I did a drops video earlier this year, but I'm going to do another one which goes over the techniques in a little more detail. If you're back is hurting then yes, your saddle might be too high, and your tire pressure may also be too high. Some people try full suspension, and others just need to stay out of the saddle more. Try dropping it a hair and staying up on your feet on rougher sections.
Also i would love to see some aggressive road bike videos. As a roady on an MTB i have such a hard time figuring out what I can roll over and what (and how) to avoid. It's a mental block, but one I can beat by getting better handling skills (which is why i love your trials series) and seeing how rough I can get on my road bike.
+ben firth I got a few friends who actually chopped off a few walmart like steel mountain bike frames and re welded them to form different bikes ranging from street trial and flatland. I got a video on that on my channel.
Is it a lot harder to wheelie on a Speed/Urban Bike? I have a Specialized Source Comp Disc (i know it's not the right bike to do wheelie on, or is it?). I am trying for a couple month now, but can't hold the wheelie over a longer distance and get frustrated.
Follow-up question: On your new plus derailleur with the lockout.....are you still running a 7/8/9 (forgot which one you use) speed cassette? Or better question...How many speeds is your bike rolling with? Because if I can use a narrow wide and a zee derailleur on my 8 speed hardtail...I'd be pumped
+Salty P Seth runs a stock 8 speed cassette on his bike however its not compatible with the Zee since the rear mech has a different pull ratio compared to the Altus rear mech. However if you want 8 speed on your Zee you should get a ten speed road cassette and remove the outer two cassettes and replace them with spacers.
Thomas John Solidum Yeah...but he said in the video he has a locking derailleur now....if he didn't change his cassette-how is he running a shadow plus (locking) derailleur?
Salty P Oh hadn't been updated so far with his bike but the last time I remembered he still ran a Shimano Altus mech then a Sunrace mech with a stock 8 speed hyperglide cassette. Don't know about his current setup though
Thomas John Solidum I know....it's confusing. I think I'm going to just buy a zee and see if it works....because isn't the pull actuated by the shifter's anyway???....at worst, I'll have to get a longer screw for the L and H to stop it
I always work on my bike getting my hands dirty I found you should do this hack take a clothe with flour rub your hands with it you will see your hand are clean or oil on your hands when you have finished with the bike rub it again with the flour clothe
Hey man, nice video, especially that footage at the end. Also, quick question, is the lock out feature really useful and worth the extra money? I have a 29er with no lock out that I ride both on trails and on asphalt and sometimes I feel that my suspension is dissipating too much of my energy when I'm trying to keep up with my speed riding friends.
Yeah, a lockout is nice. You pay a huge premium though for a remote lockout, and I'm not sure that particular feature is worth it for the average rider.
I'm not so sold on derailleur hangers. My brother busted his derailleur + the hanger a week ago, but the hanger cost $30 and the derailleur only cost $25! I suppose it's different when you're running top of the line gear, but for such a simple throw-away part to cost more than an entire derailleur - it's senseless.
Hey Seth, Great video as always. I also really enjoyed the clip at the end of just some short riding. How are you liking that single chain ring up front in lieu of a a front derailleur system? Also, what are the specs of your stem, and handlebar setup? they look rather narrow, and I was just curious as to how much you prefer a wide vs. narrow handlebar setup. As always, thanks!
I would go with Shimano if I had it to do over, but only because the brakes on my MTB have been working for over 6 years without service, and the brakes on my trials bike are giving me problems.
Seth's Bike Hacks Avids are a pain to maintain especially when handling DOT3 fluid. Shimano brakes at least are easier to maintain with mineral oil and you can even use Baby oil for alternative brake fluid. I'd recommend getting the Deore or the XT if you're willing to upgrade..
Hello I want to start mtb but I can't manage to do any tricks due to fear. My dad will not allow me to practice on the lawn and no parks are flat, what should I do to learn a manual
If money didn't matter I would choose every part on it. The steel Ritchey hardtail frames would be high on my list, and I'd just go super lightweight and minimalist for the rest of it.
Whats your take on E-bikes? Would you ever consider doing some MTB Tricks on it? I fitted my specialized hard rock sport with a Bionx D-500 kit and due to the drive motor on the rear wheel, I cant bunny hop for sh*t now ..lol
Hello Seth! I would like to know if you could list me some brands which manufacture good mtb trials bikes. I talked with INSPIRED and they told me they dont have a sales representative here in Uruguay, nor in the near region, so I would like to look for other options. Thanks in advance. Love your videos!
Great videos. You're a badass rider! Quick question, what do you recommend between air fork and coil fork? (considering durability and function) Thank you! Ride safe!
+Danny Kim Thanks, and honestly I've always used air so I'm not too well versed on the differences. I know a lot of downhill riders use coils, so they may be better at absorbing huge changes in the terrain. I know one of the advantages of air is how easy it is to adjust to achieve the desired ride. Coils wear out, while air pressure only needs to be topped off. Coils are heavy, and air is....air. So if you're riding singletrack or doing the stuff I do, air is probably your easiest option.
+Seth's Bike Hacks I will probably change my fork to air since I'm not a downhill rider. I just do some random tricks and ride trails haha. I appreciate your answer!
+DIVYANSH AGRAWAL Hardtail for climbing and Full suspension for descending. Though modern full suspension bikes can almost climb just as well as hardtails.
I can't manual. When I fall my body back,I feel I will fall down then I break the bike. I can't find the balance point, should I just fall my body back and don't care about fall down? Tips pls

Hi there wanna ask a question last time I ask a question I think you missed it anyway I just wanna know about moving your bike while in endo I kept doing it but I get flipped over from my bike...if you can answer it please.

Love your vidz too. Hope you make a group on fb so theres a good communication too. Hope you do an endo vidz someday good luck to you :)
If you're seeing this video in lower resolution, you probably just got here too early. UA-cam needs to process it and it'll be in 1080p 60i
you should do an entire video dedicated to your dog :P
^^ This needs more upvotes!

Can you make a video of you reviewing multiple taco joints around town?
Seth, for your next walmart bike series. Instead of Walmart, go to a good/average bike shop and get the cheapest bike there or one of the cheapest and test tht out. See if its any good even tho its in a bike shop, or is it better than the walmart bike! Thanks Seth keep it up!

Nice footage in the 2nd part of the video! Definitely appreciated!
Thanks as always Seth. I work in IT too. Nice to see I'm in good company.

+Seth's Bike Hacks No doubt man.
You seem like a really nice guy! Really enjoying your videos keep it up :D
thanks!
+SomeRiderGuy hey fellow motovlogger
Vegemite On Toast Hi :D
after more than one year following you, I decided towatch all of your videos again :)
best mtb content
"I just wanna jump off of shit" HAHAHA the most true comment ever. I think its that mindset as a kid that got me into skateboarding and biking.
Yes i love the length, format, and action-packed-ness of your videos. Condensed knowledge.
You seem like an honest guy. Thanks for all of the videos. Hopefully I run into you one day at Markham. 👍🏼
loving the videos broski. Keep it up
Money is the only hardship on mtb( I'm still a high school students)
Same feeling man, especially when your parents will only buy one thing and your friends have $4500 downhill bikes
+Eric Kuhn If you have a >1000$ MTB in school you're doing it wrong. Don't think that you need a better bike to have more fun.
+Michael Ip same man, good thing i live in a valley, the trails in here are just too awesome
I want a enduro bike, but it's >$2000. I need to wait until a have a job
I have a xc bike about $700~800, once a ride in mountain, my rims were injured, and it can't go a straight line if i don't control it
Seth can you do a video on fat bikes? Maybe you could rent one and do a ride video and review? They are all the rage now and I would be interested to hear your take on them.
Your videos are my favorite on youtube for anything mtb.

how do you deal with lower back pain with mtn biking? how do you conquer for (1-3ft high) at slow and high speeds

"I want you to have every reason to just click it." That's so true, I'm like- I'm never gonna need this? *click* damn Seth I love your content!

To stop the lever from bing pulled cram an inner tube between the handlebar and stem
"Do you have kids?" "Not Yet"
Congrats Seth
I’ve been watching Seth since he started his channel. When he started he wasn’t as energetic and now his videos are vibrate .
Nice to know you're a NY'er!! Let us know when you come up again, would love to ride with you!
"My girlfriend's bike"
Your bikes have bikes?
Also, thanks for using my question. Happy riding! :)
You should buy a Walmart bike and overhaul it! Use the frame and work from that, would be interesting. And show the whole process
Like replace the fork and rear shock
Totally not worth it
+ben firth I got a few friends who actually chopped off a few walmart like steel mountain bike frames and re welded them to form different bikes ranging from street trial and flatland. I got a video on that on my channel.
+Thomas John Solidum will check it thanks
ben firth Video name is Flatland / Street Trials
If you're ever in Tallahassee check out Munson and Tom brown trails, they are pretty nice.
I have always wondered what your though on power grips as an alternative to clips.

hey seth, I'm wondering why you use quite a long stem on your mountain bike? I'm wondering to get a short one. what should i do?
Hey man, nice video, especially that footage at the end.

Yeah, a lockout is nice. You pay a huge premium though for a remote lockout, and I'm not sure that particular feature is worth it for the average rider.
Sup Seth?
could you make a video about proper seat height and handle bar set up on a MTB, and also how to fix common creaks and rattles?
YAY love from New York
I'm not so sold on derailleur hangers. My brother busted his derailleur + the hanger a week ago, but the hanger cost $30 and the derailleur only cost $25! I suppose it's different when you're running top of the line gear, but for such a simple throw-away part to cost more than an entire derailleur - it's senseless.
It doesn't protect the derailer it protects your frame from being cracked by a broken derailed at high speed
Yeah you'll want a derailleur hanger when it bends your frame.
The way Seth says water is so good
EYY back to the good old days, I got in your video!
Hey Seth, Great video as always. I also really enjoyed the clip at the end of just some short riding. How are you liking that single chain ring up front in lieu of a a front derailleur system? It’s very interesting how Seth had his dropper lever positioned
Hey.Can you tell me the price of your trial bike?I'm searching for one of those in a really long time.
Yeah that sounds about right... I had to pay a little more though to have it shipped here, plus the tariffs.
You want me to want to click for your new vids?! ALREADY THERE! jeez, my phone updates me when you share a new video. haha
A fellow bagel w/CC & Lox lover! You're a good jew. I try to eat bagel/lox at least once a week.

If money didn't matter I would choose every part on it. The steel Ritchey hardtail frames would be high on my list, and I'd just go super lightweight and minimalist for the rest of it.
