- Nyc's Ultimate Budget Bites: $6.50 Hainanese Chicken Rice And Irresistible Pineapple Roast Pork Bun in Chinatown Manhattan! In my opinion, these are some of the best bang for your buck cheap eats in Chinatown Manhattan. I went to Gai Kitchen on Mott Street for their Thai Style Hainan Chicken and Rice and it was the most delicious cheap eat I've had in a long time! You can't find a better deal then this in New York City. Next, I went around the corner over to the famous Mei Lai Wah and tried their BBQ roast pork and pineapple bun for the first time and I was shocked by how delicious it was! I can' t believe I never ate there when I lived in NYC! Now I must have it everytime I'm in Chinatown and you should too. Shout out to my boy Nono for meeting up with and stay tuned for the next episode. Hope ya'll enjoy the video and please subscribe, like, share, and leave me a comment as well as restaurant recommendations and I will pull up to review it!

That looks like a winner, big pieces of chicken thighs, rice and scallion ginger dipping sauce for $6.50. The pineapple/pork bun looked great too. Now I'll be waiting for your visit to Hop Kee (or Wo Hop if you changed your minds), two restaurants that have been down there forever.
Hop Kee episode dropping Sunday. Stay tuned!
@@HellaChluy I will.
I always gotta get a dozen of them browns in a box every time you go to Mei Lai Wah.
Hainan chicken is poached in a stockpot of water with ginger, scallion, garlic, lemongrass, pandan leaf and salt. After the chicken is done and removed to cool, the rice is cooked with the chicken stock created by poaching.
Wow thanks. So good, I need more 🔥🔥🔥
@@HellaChluy Try the roast chicken, Thai fish cake and scallion chives pancake. Looks good.
I shall try the whole menu
This chicken rice spot is no joke .
