Man. The PC version looks freaking amazing! When all that stuff be fixed and stable (all modes, weapons working correctly, lowering latency, etc), I bet that there'll be a healthy community that'll create new maps, guns, challenges, more than 8 players online, missions, etc! It would even make a randomizer much more easier to implement! I'd play a Perfect Dark randomizer right now.
This looks amazing, can't wait for it to get improved upon, because honestly for me, having all the sounds be localized would mess with my situational awareness too much.

Played it on my Quest 3 via Virtual Desktop a few days ago. I just maxed out the size of it so the screen was filled, controlled with mouse and keyboard. It was already a whole new way to expierience this game.
I've been dying to replay Perfect Dark, but I remembered the original having some FPS drops in tense moments, so I wanted to play the XBLA version. But this looks hella stable. Love it. Are there any changes to the emulator settings to make it run this smoothly?
This is not emulated! This is the new PC port, and it is much better than any emulator. Much better than XBLA too since it controls nicely. XBLA has issues with music, some sounds, and 45% forced deadzone.
@@YawleyG Get on it! I downloaded the PC port around a month ago... just finished 100%'ing the game (okay okay, I still have some combat simulator missions to do x'D) but unlocked everything else and the game worked flawlessly the entire time.
The PC decomp is probably the definitive way to play this game right now, Not to dog on the XBLA port because that port is playalbe but it has it's own quirks. The PC decomp version is more faithful to the n64 release without all the limitations the N64 hardware had for the game.
I need to drag my friends into this somehow. Btw, some weapons looking more low-poly than usual, is it cuz stress on a full lobby, something related to the build, or...?

Perhaps changing the multiplayer menu to match the XBLA Port would help with Online play, so you can see who is present before you start the match. Just keep the old menu for Local Play. Also, When will Agent 4 and Jonathan be added? I main those two on Xbox.

There is, but the free aim works really well (and feels cool as fuck) with mouse controls. It's more useful in the campaign than combat sim since you can't move while aiming (although the same applies with a locked reticule), but I haven't played an FPS on PC where you can acquire targets with such speed and precision as with PD's free aim + mouse.

@@Caolan114 If you don't know what port forwarding is, I'd recommend to rely on joining instead of hosting. It depends on your ISP and router so that's something you have to research on your own. The network option is not in Combat Simulator but the main menu itself, if you don't see it try another browser as you may have downloaded the wrong build.
playing against Graslu is what it feels like when you play against 8 sims and decide to make juuuuuust one of them a DarkSim

This is essentially still splitscreen and the original game did that so it switches to the low poly models. It'll be fixed!

why do some weapons like the dragon and DY357 have a low poly count? is it to make netplay run more stable or just an issue from the PC port?
All the guns in multiplayer use low poly versions, it's a leftover from splitscreen. It'll be fixed eventually.

Splitscreen uses low poly models, and this is essentially still splitscreen. It'll be fixed in the future.
