Hey fellow drummers I've been playing 60 years and I think I just got thrown out of a Black Sabbath tribute band cuz I couldn't play this part in the middle rock on fellas I met my match.... Someday I'll keep trying but right now I'm waiting for the Band-Aids in the cast to come off this cat's awesome KW
That’s badass man! I’m a 30 year guitar bass and keys veteran. I figured it was time to conquer drums. I have about 20 hours in of practice total. I pick up instruments pretty fast. I can keep up with Pink Floyd at least, but I want to do what you just did! Any advice?
I'd say practice hand technique first for fast rolls. That will allow you to play more relaxed. Check out the Moeller technique. Also practice, practice, practice with a metronome. Nothing worse than a drummer who can't keep steady time. Oh and double stroke rolls. Once you have those foundations set you'll be golden.
