I kinda want to reach for it now while I have time but I can hardly do an 8:30 mile on bad days and 17 2miles on a good day maybe it'll be easier in a while consistent 5k is the goal for now
alex drew as a current Xc runner who just watched it I can say it’s in the top 5 on my favorite movies list. I listen to the theme song a lot because it’s very good and the cast made it seem realistic. My favorite part is how it turns out that victor was in prison when he just looks like that kinda guy
The guitar is just amazingly beautiful in this song. I became a distance runner in my 20's for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, and present day I am a cross country coach so this movie really hits home. Love it!
I was born and raised in Kern County, my mom graduated from McFarland High, went to elementary school in Delano, The Central Valley is a beautiful place, proud to call it home!
i am genuinely so proud and amazed of the boys. this movie meant a lot to me, teared up and rooted for them throughout the moments in which they ran! mcfarland!
1 Man... took a small running program, and took a bunch of kids from thr streets. And turned them into the best cross country running team in all of California back in 87' Thank You, Jim White.
McFarland is a wonderful town. The kids are my favorite! ("The Real Danny Diaz" wasn't fat! LOL!). AND the young man who played Danny was a graduate of McFarland High School!

I loved the fictitious Danny Diaz! He was an inspiration to me! Taught me never to give up and keep pushing! He was amazing and I have yet to be that myself. I will some day!

This and running helped me avoid all forms of the bad kinds of peer pressure. ---- I ran Cross Country in high school (h.s.) because I was rejected from the baseball team due to a miserable tryout. ---- Most h.s. cross country teams (including mine) do not have a tryout. As a freshman, on the first day of h.s. cross training, I learned that outperforming an opponent did not matter. It is all about improving yourself little by little. (They call it beating your personal record.) I never finished in the top 5 of a cross country race, but I never regretted any day of it.
