i once made the choice to binder the 1987 donruss opening day set.(Only players that started the first game of the season). Worked very well with the National league which had 9 players as theres no DH. But the American league had 9 position players and the dh...10 cards. I ended up putting the starting pitcher on the backside behind the 9th hitter (yes, I looked up the actual starting lineup for that first game on baseball reference and put each team in the order they batted.) Left me fairly unsatisfied with my efforts.
Love, love, love this video. All collector's have some form of OCD. What I really want to know is, were any cards harmed during the making of this film? LOL Really well done!
I identify with you fully. I only collect in sets of 9. I have bought cards just to complete a nine card page. I also have moved a card out of a binder if it is the 10th card. The challenge of the 9 is real. Binders forever.
Yes ... yes to pretty much everything in this video! I use certain brands of toploaders for certain cards. I reuse soft sleeves for only certain cards too.
Great video and supporting comments. We collectors have more than collecting in common. The page limitations impacts all of us. My wife always said she wouldn't want to be inside my head. Well she better never see this video for she will see a glimpse of it.. 😄
You have definitely not alone. My topps team set binders I fill the remaining slot with other brands from that year of my favorite players. All my player collections are in boxes and they at a-z
Yeah, you got me on this one. Within a player's year, instead of angling the action to the middle, mine have to be alphabetical by brand. Bowman, Donruss, etc.
No you are not the only one who overthinks this. I have some of the same issues. I have my player collections alphabetically by last name. At some point i want to organize each player by year along with alphabetically. Sounds like a good retirement project!!! I struggle with 9 cards per page or 18 when putting complete sets in pages.
I relate to this video so much!
Many do; we'll have to set up a support group soon!
Haha fantastic video, OCD runs in all collectors. Aw yes the divisible by 9 conundrum😂 This is instantly a top video of 2024
I'm glad at least I remember my 9x table! I'd hate to have so many cards stored away in boxes, so this is my cross to bear.

Great set, and smart way to show the teams! It's that tenth card that always gets us.

No cards harmed, just my sanity questioned.

I got a feeling that more purchases are on the way just to fill in those empty spots. It makes the collection feel complete!
You're not alone in these struggles Mike!
Good to know. Also good that these are my main struggles in life!
My first dip in the vintage composer pool, and I got a great primer on what and how you collect! I love it - so well produced!
Nice to meet you in Garfield! I can't wait to dive into your content as well.

But then how do to arrange and store your top loaders? That's a different level I've yet to explore.

I hear you; she would become frightened by the inside of my mind...

Alphabetical boxes; now there's a project!

What do you do when acquiring parallels? You must always be shifting cards and sheets!

The complete sets I am fine with; it's the organizing of PC pages that drives me nuts!
Just start a new page, even if it's the only card on that sheet. Never on the back!
That means more sheets, therefore more binders. Then the new issue becomes where to store everything!
