I like that idea and the R Value.
I’d like to see the size of the squarer version. I’d hope it is a tad wider and a bit longer.
I’d also like to see a more subdued woodland colouring.
It’s a brilliant concept 😉👍🏼
I’m all in! But need a man size, let’s hope they release a wider version! It’s great to see some competition for Thermarest, which have become expensive imo.
Excellent visuals my Friend! Very enjoyable! Please stay connected! 🌸🐝🌸
Nice one dan. Looks like i was the other one 😂 im really impressed with it and looking forward to the large version coming. Will be my go to mat i think. Atb 👍
@NoviceWildCamper just clocked your thumbnail in my feed.. will have a look with my coffee.
The design is a cool idea.
It seems like they've taken a step up in quality, too. The mat feels very premium to me.
@CampLifeBushcraft yeah i was impressed with it 👍
Brilliant video and a great bit of kit.
Great review Dan! The way that pump slots in reminds me of R2D2 on the X-wing.
@@tweedyoutdoors I hadn't thought of that... now I can't think of anything else! 😂
@@CampLifeBushcraft Feel free to pass that on to Flextail as a marketing angle.
@tweedyoutdoors 😂😂
Can you tell Flex tails to make a regular wide in mummy shape. Wide sleeping pads are just more comfortable than regular ones❤.
And also can you let Flex tails know that my feets do not want to deal with the inflation/deflation pump parts through the night.
Look forward to a bigger version.
Looks like a unique quality cold weather pad, but I think the other comments are right that bigger would be better. I’m a car camper though so size and weight doesn’t matter.
That mat may be my next go-to! I think I'd be okay with the tapered mummy-style as I use an under silver foil layer as well but I will see what the larger format will be like. Nice one. Cheers, Warren :)
Great video.
Can you inflate the mattress and hold it to the light to see if the insulation goes all the way to the edges? I am thinking about signing up to the Idiegogo launch but have reservations. The R0.5 had no insulation along the entire side baffles which rendered the entire mat much less effective than my other mattress at half the R VAlue
@@ShawnJ-t3u The insulation does go to the edge 👍
Used the R5 all winter and its my go-to mat now. I didn't get cold at all and its way more comfortable than my Thermarest. That said, minus 3 was the coldest night I was out so not exactly arctic weather. Where did you find issues with it?
@JTRavers69 no issues. Still have it. Bur I have a few mats and it's on a rota 😂
Does look proper nice , bit narrow but longs they do the standard size one be good , super light especially if you use your own pump / light game changer 👍
There also have pads with lower R values (not sure I need a 9.5), but they are heavier (but cheaper)
Nice!! Lets hope the price is nice too.
The 9.5 is in theory, when you lay down the "layers" combine a bit. There is a guy who sleeps on both systems in the super cold and he says it's colder in real life. That pump is amazing idea, but in -20C and below none of that will work. Obviously, no matter what anyone says, all those mats we use are made in China with the same exact valves and etc.
Great video Dan i love it just over £200 for 3 mats is a fantastic deal atvb Jimmy 😎😎👍👍
If the r-value is accurate might be worth picking up
nice!
Is it too expensive?
Just come straight here from BackpackingUK who's been promoting the Decathlon pad.
So many great pads to choose from; but not yours NatureHike.
Clever idea. Sorry but at 6'5" and 250lbs that one would be too small. Maybe they'll make an XL Long size some day. 9.5R is exceptional for such a small pad, imagine a bigger one. Thanks Dan!👍👍
They’re offering a Large size if the campaign hits a milestone, or for a small fee 🙄 if the milestone isn’t accomplished
Very interesting Mr Dan, but a wee bit small for my bulk. Like you say, a squarer one would be better for me Bud.
Cheers for sharing.👍

Moose
Nice video but way too small, need a proper sized one to make a comparison. Also every man and his bog has a flextail pump so why not make a smaller valve version that takes a regular pump
I love their gear but stupid to put the pump inside. Everyone’s got a pump usually with a lantern. Any pad above 6r is purely for winter summit camping. And I prefer the 25inch pads.
If that's the actual R value then Thermarest has competition.
Very promising already that I do not hear potato chip bag 👌
Are you learning Mandarin?
Satsumada, surely.
Different country kiddo. But, you never know, free oranges to construct a shelter, what's not to like?
No way is that R9.5.
Can you link me your evidence? Cheers.
