I love the energy that whole group emits whilst playing, you can feel the Joy you all had jamming this out. I for one, Love the Tones you get with your guitars. It ALL sounds MinT!! Really Like this raw approach, its in the Pocket, Keep em coming.
Listening to this, i am a Lobster on the sea bed in mating season..but loose out right at the last moment and can't stop chasing...A superb thought.Thankyou gentlemen..aaahhh
Absolutely insane. This drummer is sensational, I mean, all the band but the groove changes he introduces here are reserved to a handful of drummers, he's got this vision which is incredibly difficult to pull. exquisite bass lines and tone. perfect keyboard integration. Then, I hate the guitar player for sure the only thing I have in common with him is my Irish cap because in terms of playing I have to work very hard even to dance like him 😃. You are going to kill me Alex!
AlexH is a fantastic player but for being in the Studio with all that incredible gear the guitar tone borders on unlistenable. I’m uncertain if it’s missing something or got too much of something else (treble bite, possibly?) but it’s definitely off. I’d suggest listening to Frank Gambale or Greg Howe for a solution. Less dirt/grit, smoother overdrive with sufficient edge to dig in when inspired.
I think it's just his preference. He tends to prefer more gain/dirt than most fusion players, and it can be a bit too much. I often find myself wishing he would use a cleaner tone with just a little delay and some reverb and that's it, or the edge of break up that only gets slightly hairy when picking harder but sounds clear otherwise.
