"Don''t know what that is , but I'm sure if it was in Australia it would Kill you! " I watch as much for the sense of humour as the amazing repairs , comedy duo 😂
Processional caterpillar nests (I think). They won't kill you unless you're a dog and get your face deep into them, but leave them alone as they're deeply unpleasant.
Processionary caterpillar nests. Very dangerous to dogs, they can sniff the fine fur which can cause an allergic reaction and kill them. They descend the tree trunk in line, then head underground for 6 months resulting in an ugly brown moth
They certainly are processional caterpillar nests....you get them in maritime pines everywhere (we have to set traps on the pines in our garden in southern Brittany). The caterpillars descend towards the end of April - all nose to tail in a long line. The hairs sting badly and can even fly/float and sting you. Our previous dog lost a 1/4 of her tongue to the little devils. They're seen as a dangerous nuisance in France and are burned off Red Adair-style (doused in petrol before throwing a match and jumping smartly back)
Thoroughly enjoy watching Christian and Vera's adventures and their expeditions. Great touring videos in the best-maintained Discovery 3-Series on the Planet.
Christian when I look at those steps etc I just think “well I’m 63 and I’ve had my first (mild thankfully) heart attack…I think I’ll just enjoy this vicariously”. I used to enjoy that sort of thing in my 20s. More power to you still at it in your 50s. Awesome trip!

10:10 "I came along here. Look at this! This is not according to German Quality Specification". LOL. .... And then people say Germans do not have a sense of Humor!... I love watching you videos! The comments just crack me up! Watching from Rotterdam, The Netherlands.
This video is very interesting. It’s also nice to see a Land Rover in use on a road instead of being in a workshop on the end of a wrench. Thank you both for taking us along with you.
Beautiful and fantastic video! Disco performed admirably and was completely in it's element. I would also be very nervous on some of those snow and ice covered tracks - but the Disco eats them... yes, snow chains and I use BFG mud terrains which work surprisingly well on the road if that were an option and have a much taller profile. I have the natty little mud flaps that keeps the muck off the vehicle and do not foul the ground with the suspension raised. What pressures do you run in the tyres? The diesel heaters consume a surprising amount, so it's difficult to assess mileage without separate metering. Thoroughly enjoyable video, well done!
As an Australian that blob might kill you if it contained wasps, but the snakes, spiders, crocodiles, sharks, jellyfish, octopus and the deadly drop bears will surely get to you first and kill you in as little as 30 seconds from contact! Great episode , despite Vera’s “ babling” and your boots sounding like a German storm trooper. ( ha ha ha) Wonderful scenery and what a fabulous trail to trek. Vera looks to be sprinting away from “old man Christian” , but that fresh underwater may have “held you up” ( pun intended ), so a great excuse! You are a funny couple and work so well together and have created a very entertaining travel show Cheers from Australia, gotta go, I need to chase that big brown snake out of the house and feed the drop bears to stop them eating my dog.
Good morning Vera & Christian 😊 wishing you and all of your family a very happy New Year 🥳 That was an awesome road trip and thanks so much for sharing your adventure with us 🤩 Vera’s LR did really well with no major issues thanks to Christian’s mechanical engineering skills maintaining it 👍🏻😍 xx
Thanks for the great ride along! I've done Spain also many times with my Discovery but being a single driver I would travel through central France and drive max 5 hours then overnight I would take it easy and reach Valencia after 3 days from central Germany ... brings back a lot of very nice memories.
We needed to stay in a certain area because of Philipp. We have been to the Pyrenees Mountains three times with our Discovery 3, long before UA-cam however. Nextime, we will go further West to Bardenas Reales and go hiking in Picos de Europa National Park. 👍👌🙋♀️
So kind of you both to allow us to travel such a gorgeous journey. I do believe that this time Christian was the first to say "omg" in a video before Vera. You are both the best!

Epic adventure makes all the hours spent on that discovery 3 worth the effort,, thank you for bringing us with you ❣️,, Awesome stuff ☺️☺️☺️☘️☘️☘️☘️☘️🌄
Stunning, rugged land that I wouldn't have associated with Spain. Reminds me of Colorado. Of course, in terrain like this, an efficient and torquey turbo diesel is mandatory.

I’m really surprised you don’t have a ground anchor. Ooooooh a side project 😂😂 my wife is from the of salou there are fantastic trails in that area 😎😎😎😎😎
Hey Christian and Vera 😊 That was a most enjoyable trip. Thank you for taking us along with you 👍🏻 I wish you both a very Happy New Year and look forward to seeing more great content. Today, I myself am going to set about servicing my EAS Valve Block for the Air Suspension on my Range Rover P38. I bought the car at the end last summer and know for sure, that it has probably never been serviced. It is a task that requires being meticulous, which suits me down to the ground. Wish me luck, haha 😂😀🙏
The Landcruiser stayed on his first night in a hotel, by choice. It had two Holland bicycles ( if you know what I mean ) on his hitch, I don't think he will ever hit those trails. 😃👍🙋♀️
When the going gets tough, the Landy gets going! What a brilliant adventure you two went on in Spain with your Disco! Greetings from yet another Australian!
After watching all of your many repair videos, it was a great pleasure to see you using your Land Rover for what it was intended, overlanding across Europe. Most impressive of all is to see how fit both of you are hiking with challenging changes in elevation. And to see remote backcountry I never knew existed in western Europe. Take more vacations!
So, I sit on my sofa for another nice video, and you almost immediately give me vertigo on those steps...! OMG as Vera says. But then I get to relax after that, thank you for taking us on a most glorious travelogue!! And seeing a Discovery do what it's designed for too (not shopping trips) 😊
Ein herrliches Video, vielen Dank dafür. Und ja, wenn ich mal einen Disco 3 habe, dann nur mit Schnorchel, denn man will ja gut aussehen. Frohes neues Jahr Euch, wünscht Christian
Fabulous, guys, I dont , however, understand how viewers can criticise from their cozy couches. You are out there living life, seeing life, being alive! Awesome. I'm off to the Gourges Du Tarne, se france , on my Motorcycle, not exactly Off Roading, though I do have two L320's, but so looking forward to the trip. Much love, and a Wonderfull 2025!

Lovely episode again, I thoroughly enjoyed it. I’ve been at the French side of the eastern Pyrenees quite a few times (relatives have a house down there). Nice to see the similarities and especially the differences. Spain is particularly much more desolate. Impressive footage!
Your footage of the staircase of death is the scariest I have ever seen in my life! It reminds me of a regularly recurring nightmare I have where I'm climbing a staircase on a rockface or wallface, and there are missing stair treads. Suddenly, the handrails disappear, and then turning around to go back, you find that all the stairs behind you have gone. Then I wake up! Your comment about changing your underwear being a waste of time is very apt and hilarious. I'm glad you took the decision to not go further on a trail. As Clint Eastwood said in one of his Dirty Harry movies, "a good man has got to know his limitations". You're a good man, Christian. You two go where angels fear to tread, but in this case, stop where "tyres" fear to tread.

@@edwardgrimes8572 I agree Texas is worse. Far fewer dangerous critters but loads more deadly humans with no impulse control.
