I mean, they wanted to do the footprints thing since Ocarina of Time, that and also the fact that you could chop the trees, and they would have stayed forever chopped... what purpose would it have had? nobody knows (at least for the trees), people suspect that nintendo wanted to do the footprints thing so you could traverse the desert multiple times... first by doing some sort of quest and when you had to come the second time, you would use your own footprints to get to your destination again.

One fun thing I learned from this was the dude named Baito. Like, I knew he was a character, but I never knew his name (or just forgot, it's been years man). Baito is Japanese for "part-time job", which is what he ends up doing after his interview. It's amazing how simple things like this can be lost in translation, since his name isn't a word used outside of Japan. I'll add a fact for this game ya. If you can get footage, kudos, because I've never been able to recreate it. In the battle against Kalle Demos, you can get him down to 1 hit remaining in the first cycle (doesn't have to be the first cycle, but it's how I did it). Once he's down to 1 hit, if you throw the boomerang just right while he's hanging from the ceiling, you can hit his tiny hit box inside, since the boomerang flies through him. If you do this, killing him, the cutscene will play, and exit will appear, but Kalle's vines will still be attached to the ceiling. If you cut down those vines, the battle and music will resume. There's no longer a boss to kill, so you're just battling it's corpse at that point, but it's a fun little glitch. You're not stuck, either, as you can simply walk to the center of the room and leave. I did this once on my first playthrough of the HD version and, again, have never been able to recreate it. If you attempt to, I wish you luck, and I look forward to it.
Edit: Watching the video, the most stunning fact I learned from this is that you can stun Peahats with the Deku Leaf while floating. I always just weaved through them on my way to the Forbidden Woods, I didn't know you could stun them.

While the Forest Water trick with the boss is cool, it’s really only helpful if you’re speedrunning the game because it only lasts for about 20 mins (I think) before it turns into normal water, _meaning_ to use it in a normal playthrough, you’d have to _leave_ the dungeon and _come back_ just to do this one trick that would probably take about as much time as it would to kill the boss without it

Did not know you could one-shot that thing... not only that you should have a bottle at that point that can easily defeat it. A lot of interesting details for sure, I wonder what else lies in store for the next series of fact videos in 2023. This one is quite the send off if it is the last one. I hope you are well, Merry Christmas and to a Happy New Year.

one shotting Kalle-demos, the plant boss with the forrest water i dont think is a cannon event, I think its a programming issue. Because you cant do that in the HD wind waker, so that nullifies it being plot related that a plant boss doesnt like water poured on it. lol

    • @BubblenutMcMuffin

You can in WWHD, it has to be the water from the Forest Haven, and not let it expire. I'd imagine it is canonical, as it's an evil plant thing, and the Deku Tree is good. I know that's not the best way to explain it. I think it's akin to using healing spells on undead enemies in older RPGs.
