It was true. If I recall correctly, preventative measures were enacted. Some of the population was displaced within the country. I believe that some lost property. The wildfires were like what we have experienced in California. The Dixon fire complex. I was in an evacuation zone shelter area passing through. I gave away extra phone chargers & cords. Most of us now carry chargers and cords. Vehicles have the charging hardware now. Prescribed burns are more frequent now. The prescribed burns are run by the forestry departments to deliberately burn areas of risk under supervision. Preventing fires by training homeowners to make the home & 30'+ space hardened against fire entering the yard to burn. I hope these same things are happening across the pond.
