The good thing is that the Walker trade was starting to pay off by getting Emmitt Smith and then later on using it to get Alvin Harper. The Cowboys were 1 win away from making the playoffs. If they had beaten the Falcons that last game they would have gone to the playoffs. That's why Jimmy got Steve Beuerlein the next year as a good backup compared to the crap in Babe Lauffenberg. Either way this was a good sign and each year we improved.

Two worst records in the league the previous year. The NFL had a policy to pair up teams like that to help bring parity to the league. Fortunately the Cowboys were on the way up while the Bucs were on the way to nowhere.

Team turnaround Jimmy Johnson was coach of the year for a team that went 7-9 they were in the hunt for the playoffs until the last 2 games

That game almost got blacked out locally. A local radio station stepped in and bought a huge block of tickets to keep that from happening.
I thought it was odd they faced the Buccaneers twice in 1990. It was good that they did two wins but I wonder why.
