  • I know, I know it's kinda silly but it combines my two loves John Frusciante and Ace Frehley. You know Ace would be vibin' and Gene and Paul would be pouting. lol
**Also RHCP did not cover Kiss at Slane Castle, the audio was taken from Soundboard Recording of a RHCP show in Paris, France Feb. 12, 2003. This was just a fun edit that popped into my head literally because youtube recommends Slane Castle and Best of Ace Frehley montages to me everyday so there ya go! Look! It's Rock-N- Roll! ☆☆ 🚀

ACE se nota que influenció a muchos guitarristas ,entre ellos John Frusciante 🎸🎶🎶🤘🏼

I've always liked Frusciante's guitar playing for his channeling of Hendrixian energy and technique, but him rocking out to KISS is the cherry on the cake.
I've never understood the detractors as 73-77 KISS had well crafted songs played with a ferocity verging on punk. I think Ace Frehley had a great "singing" vibrato on his solos, and some of his extended sustained bends reminded me of Hendrix also. It's not surprising that a young John Frusciante would've been taken by this as many of us were.
    Thanks for the upload.

I absolutely agree. You watch those 70's performances of Kiss being young and wanting it so bad, it's just amazing. John was a child of the 70s and even though he said he threw his Kiss records away when punk broke, there's no way to get Kiss out of your system. Ace is a phenom, even today, his guitar work is legendary. I loved stumbling onto this cover. It completely blends my fan grrrl love of Frusciante with my childhood love of Ace (that has never waned). Thanks again for checking out my video, really appreciate it and your thoughtful words. ☆☆ 🚀

@@aboutagirlnamedjessie Of course and I'll check out some of your vids as you have a huge collection here.
I gave all of my KISS records to my little brother in 1979 when they broke my heart by going disco. Now I'm pissed because now all I have is Alive ('75) and Ace's solo album ('78) as my brother lost them all!! Oh well...
I took the same path as Frusciante as I also went headlong into punk in the 80s loving that same raw energy I got from KISS as a kid....
I still love Ace and old KISS. As you said, you can't get it out of your system! The good thing is there is a plethora of live recordings I've never heard floating around on You Tube.
Thanks for the kind reply Jessie.

@brijhar Hahaha! I still have all my brother's Kiss albums and it's so funny how divisive Dynasty was. It was a real thing. And as much as people embrace I Was Made For Loving You and even (gasp!) The Elder today, it was literally a Got To Choose (haha) moment back then. If you get nostalgic for Kiss, you've got to check out Midnight's Special's videos, Peter rocking the hell out of Black Diamond and Gene with She and Deuce- freaking wow. And Ace is just amazing always! Anyway, I could go on and on!
And definitely check out my John videos, too haha! I'm currently on a RHCP trip following them around their current tour but I don't forget where I came from! Thanks again!

@@aboutagirlnamedjessie Haha nice pun there! You Sure Know Something about classic KISS!
Wow it sounds like you're having a fun summer! All I do is work --rinse, wash, and repeat ugh...
Enjoy and be safe. I'll check back to see if you post any travelogue videos. At least then I can live vicariously through you!
      Take care Jessie

When did they play this? 😮 is really this RHCP?

Absolutely it is Red Hot Chili Peppers! Like I said in the description they did not play it at Slane Castle, that was just some great performance clips put together. This is from a soundboard recording from Paris, France Feb. 12, 2003. If you're a fan of RHCP, you know John loves to do unexpected covers during shows and I have a feeling he and Chad were listening to Kiss on this particular tour because they covered 3 different Kiss songs.
