I believe that exhaust heat from the furnace can be used more efficient if we can increase the metal surface of the exhaust pipe ... See what i did in my case...
I was cringing at the heat lost out the chimney just like you. Thank you for sharing this! I may add a thermal paste that I happen to have left over from building computers 10 years ago 😄. I wonder if standard roof flashing would conduct heat as good, I have a big roll left over from an unrelated project, if it conducts good then I can cut it into a bunch of pieces secured to the pipe by a pipe clamp.
