She went through a run of 4 straight games against players rated higher than her and only had one loss. She's better than her ranking.
I think online rankings are always lower than what they should be. Because there are so many people online and the ratings are relative. Also she plays in public all the time, that must help too
That’s what happens when you take a break for 3 years. rankings will fall into more accurate places as you play more
She took this more seriously than she normally takes games. Definitely a ringer.
@@robertwilson3866 online rankings are actually 100-200 points higher than otb rankings dummy
@@BenjaJohnsonIII No they are lower unless you are an expert.
Andrea literally has like +100 social interactions quality
+500 autism as well
Ver true
Really enjoyed watching this behind the scenes perspective. I hope you play more tournaments and do more videos like it.
Loved this, Andrea. Wholesome af.
Papa Botez is such a G.
Andrea 2.0 is turning into a chess engine. 19 perfect moves in a row....
THIS is the wholesome entertaining content youtube needs more of.
The fact that she is so humble and says stuff like 'I'm really not the wisest person...' is such a great indicator that she's a damn good person and will continue to improve.
Badass
I mean she literally is no where near the wisest person whats so humble about that 😭 She gets cooked by grandmasters on a daily 🤣
But yes i understand she is very humble but her saying she is not the wisest doesn’t make her humble
@@zulkzymobile7901 Her saying that in the midst of being the center of attention for a big meet and greet, and being a pretty popular personality for a good amount of time now, makes expressing that sentiment in the moment 'being humble'.
It's not a thought that 99% of kids in her situation would have or express.
@@zulkzymobile7901 I agree with that to a larger extent.
Her statement was quite accurate though😌
@@zulkzymobile7901 Au contraire. "Not the wisest" isn't to be taken literally but to mean "not really very wise", so she's downplaying herself - a definition of humble.
THANK YOU! I've been dying to see all about this tournament!! I am SO PROUD of her, like she's my own family! I actually teared up seeing the picture of a young Andrea proudly holding her trophy....I'm just always rooting for her! I'm rooting for both sisters. Ultimately, I don't care about their ratings because they have gotten me into chess and taught me so much. They're about improving, learning, and most of all about having fun with the game (and with life). LOVED the vlog, I was DYING to know all about it and couldn't understand why there was so little content about it. Now I know why. PS: The Meet & Greet was beautiful to see.
ok whoa didnt expect this level of quality and it's a great insight into playing a tournament. loving the vlog content!
You’re actually quite down to earth.. very humble and very well spoken for how crazy you can be😄 it’s a great mix. GL for future tournys
Andrea is one of the best content creator, versatile, great vlog, and you nailed the editing.
What a great content. Both the stream and this vlog. Really happy you decided to play this tournament. Big W.
Guys, this was great. You both should play in tournaments more often, it makes great content. I'd also love to learn more about your early chess careers. :)
COMPLETELY agree, on both points.
Ooh the Botez secret history would be fun.
Fascinating, the research component is a great addition to the vid!Cheers!!
Loved the vlog-style, hope you post more of these in the future. Also, only one loss in 7 games is crazy, well played!
Truly think this was some of the best content you girls did this year, both this and Alex her tournament have been a blast to watch and a great idea to follow that up with a very well put together vlog. Keep doing what you're doing! 👍❤
8:42 really beautiful scene, wish it was longer. Also want to hear Eric's thought on the game or whatever you guys are talking about.
I see Eric I click. Eric is the mostly likeable person ever honestly.
For me this video feels like a love letter to chess and I absolutely love it!
Love seeing the insider content of your process during the chess tournament. Also your family & friends giving you much love & pride 🙏🏼
I Love the Botez sisters… their videos make me laugh all the time. This one was much more emotional, the amount of gitters/anxiety/excitement before each game and the emotions at the end of each game made me just want to hug her and tell her she did amazing!! Overall really enjoyed 💜
wow this is an awesome video for beginning chess players wondering what it's like to be at a tournament! i would love to see more tournament vlogs
This was absolutely fascinating ! Great result . On point editing. Well played. Thanks X !
Cool video and happy for your return to competitive chess!
Gj on the wins. Hope you hit your goal soon and not give up on it. You are so close. It's like a movie that needs part 2
Cool recap andrea, awesome dedication by the botezlive team :)
Good job, Andrea! I really enjoyed getting to see what it's like to participate in a tournament like this. I would also have enjoyed a longer version with more screen of you with the other streamers you met up with, but this was great too! You'll get 2000 soon! We all know it :)
Fun vlog, the tournament streams where good as well. Would be good to see you do more.
I love these type of vloges
This was good content. Great recap and really enjoyed the behind the scenes
I also started playing chess a few months ago because of your clips (and Levy's videos!)-y'all make chess fun
I like the interactions with Alex, Levy and Hammer postgame. Gave us a bit of insight of what you thought and what the others thought
Andrea ... YOU ROCK!!! ... good job on the tournament - it takes courage to get out and compete, you did a great job! This is very inspirational for me - thank you for sharing this
Great video! You and your sister are an inspiration. Looking forward to seeing more tournaments and to Botez Abroad 2!
this is amazing. I love vlogs and a chess one is so refreshing. Very entertaining and informative.
Fun video. Enjoyed it from start to finish
This was great, more tourney vlogs in the future
This was an awesome Video in every regard!!!
Top quality content, ngl. Was well worth the wait
Really enjoyed this video, one of your collective best!
I love the video quality of botez sisters is improving overtime.
Keep it up.
This was one of my fav videos. It made me an even bigger Andrea fan than I already am. Some of the other top comments captured it so well.
Congrats Andrea! Wish you success in the future
Got to be one of the best videos to date. Well worth the wait.
Well if she could have slipped a ten minute rave in there, it would be out of the Park-Love this girl.
Best Botez vid by far. I love this real OTB stuff. Keep it coming!
Honestly this is a fantastic video. Great first blog attempt.
That was really interesting to see behind the scenes of the tournament , I watched most of the games on stream you did really well 👍👍
Alex as Andrea's coach... Very good, very serious, very professional. 👍
GREAT editing!! Congratz!
Brilliant stuff Andrea !! Love the interaction with sis, Gotham and co :)
Congrats! That was an awesome run. Thanks for the video.
Congratulations on a Great Great Tournament!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Hope to see many more!!!!!!!!!!!!! Also good to see how your entire family was backing you the entire time.
Loved this video! Hi from Norway !!!
Fantastic comeback to the tourney scene. Watching matches is such an honor and a pleasure.
i love how alex is so supportive and caring about andrea, and andrea you did wel for a 3 year not competing.
You did such a great job Andrea! Hope to have you in Vegas again was a great time meeting you again!
Congratulations Andrea!!!
Great tournament!!!
Would be nice to see a longer version i guess
It’s just been 2 minutes bro u haven’t even watched the full vid
I just learned to play chess a few weeks ago after watching your streams! Not very good yet but it’s a lot of fun. I wish I had learned years ago!
Same here
I learned years ago, but didn't really play it much coz everyone I knew couldn't play it. Thanks to the internet and some Botez motivation, I play at least one game a day now. I'm on the easiest level v the computer, but at least I have a 100% win record so far 😂
Study, play, study, play, study, play study, play.
Yep. How do you like Atlanta‘s soccer stadium?
I enjoy playing chess too. The botez sisters made it quite fun for me.
This was such a fun video to watch. You did so well, Andrea!
Love you girls.
This sort of helped me to know what to expect, and I needed that because my first ever chess tourney is coming up and I'm really excited but a little nervous as well
In that Robert Forney game, Andrea played at a level that was easily 2500, IMO.
I've never seen her play that well before.
You dont understand the level difference if you truly think that she played a game like a 2500 fide rated player. While she played very well on critical moments the general basis of moves were nowhere near the level of a 2500. Shes under 2000 fide and played absolutely great but its just disrespectful to call that a 2500 level game from her side
@@autosemimatic6071 cry
@@autosemimatic6071 agreed, acknowledging her skill doesn't require a hyperbolic statement.
@@autosemimatic6071 Don't be jealous. Her play was at that moment in time easily a 2500 level.
It wasn't 2500 level at all.
Really well put together blog
This girl is always so chill and smily.
I like that chess pullover!!
We need Merch!!
I love this kind of content. What a cast of characters too.
I watched this on your stream. It was so good.
lmao that ending! this is such a great video, well done andrea
More chess tournament vlogs!
This was one of the more enjoyable chess videos I've watched in many a long day.
I just started getting onto chess myself. Love the video sis ❤️
This was interesting. Thanks a lot for sharing your life at the Las Vegas open.
Amazing run through the tournament. Well done Andrea. 👏👏👏👏👏
Great Vid! Could you do a post analysis of these matches?
Loved watching this behind the scream video. It’s very interesting.
this was a really fun video
Congrats!! Also very interesting to follow along with.
I think this is your best UA-cam video ever! keep up the good work...
I like this kind of content. Good tournament too!
Pretty new to the channel but this is def my favorite video by far, you and everyone in the video help make chess look so cool!
This was a great video
You are an inspiration to so many young players! Keep it up🙌
I wondered why it took so long to post this video but the wait was worth it. I loved it. Quality production!
We love you Andrea keep up the good work. Great video btw
As a player +1600 in USCF & FIDE who has been on a hiatus from competitive chess for 8 months, I got back to studying this spring around late March/ Early April, and I have basically been rearranging my opening repertoire, I’ve been slowly working my way back into this, and I’ve been eyeing some return dates, too as to which tournament I’m gonna compete in.
Andrea played so well. Great job!
lovely recap :D!
Was wondering when this would come out, I said hello in the hallway while you were looking at the draw. Congrats on a solid tournament
Congratulations on your success at the tournament...and the last scene is😂🤣
Hope you get those last 5 points soon!
Woo video finally out:)) good work andrea
Congrats on almost getting to 2000. Five out of 7 seems good.
Excellent video!
Lets gooooo Andreaaaaa! Great job!
Lol, shows up and is forced into a meet and greet. Fantastic video!! We need more of these.
I really like this video. Your best content so far outside asking magnus how the horsy move 😂
Really an excellent video, and such a great idea. This reminds us all that you're really a top-notch player, not just a Twitch/UA-cam poser (not that I ever thought that!)
great vlog, i learned chess 7 months ago after finding your channel and started watching all the botez abroad streams, im fully addicted to chess now and have lost my wife and job, i sit and play chess most days feeding my addiction, thanks alot for making me a chess junkie, im also now partially deaf in on ear thanks to your loud voice, your basically my dealer who got me hooked on hard drugs, but i love you sisters none the less, cheers
lmao
I love seeing gamer mode, good stuff.
This is awesome!
I actually watched a few games of yours during the tournament. While there, I competed in the non-rated section. This was such a cool experience and hearing that you were going to be there was awesome. I wanted to do my best just because I knew that someone I watched was going to be doing the same, so it was inspiring.
What an awesome performance. Good job!!
