  • I know you all have been asking for this, so here it is! My UPDATED hair care routine! Also, our LASH NEXT DOOR mascara is IN STOCK! Click here to ORDER YOURS before we SELL OUT! ▶️ www.brooklynand...
    Today, I'll show you my whole process and the products that I use! We have 6 GIRLS in the house, and while most of us use the same products, and I’ve taught the girls all my secrets, this routine is specific to me and my hair! (It works best if you have medium to thick straight hair.)
    Feel free to tag your own photos of your routine or products with: #CGHHairCareRoutine
    Again I’m going to stress how important it is that you understand that about 60% of your hair health is due to genetics, and the remaining 40% or so depends on how you take care of it including diet, sleep, etc. Since we cannot do much about the first 60% of hair health, you really need to find what combination fits for you for the remaining 40% to put your hair in the most ideal, best-looking condition as possible.
    Here are a few things to consider:
    1} Drink lots of water
    2} Eat healthy, including plenty of fruits and veggies
    3} Take a multi-vitamin {and drink milk}
    4} Get a good night's sleep and exercise often
    5} Regular hair trims {to eliminate dry, damaged, or split ends}
    Below is a list of all the products mentioned in the video (in order of appearance) with shoppable links!
    * HEAD AND SHOULDERS OLD SPICE PURE SPORT 2-IN-1 ANTI-DANDRUFF SHAMPOO: I can use any shampoo and conditioner for my type of hair, but currently I’m just using head and shoulders!

    if you have wavy frizzy hair, (just like mindys routine) just wash your hair until it gets foamy, rinse out. I only ring out my hair with my hands at the top and bottom and I shake it around. Then I use conditioner (i use dove hydrating conditioner also use dove hydrating shampoo) and comp it through with a small wide tooth comb until smooth. i put it in a ponytail then wash my face and my body. take the ponytail out and rinse it out just until the conditioner is rinsed out. then i get out of the shower and put my hair in a shirt instead of a towel because it’s less harsh with your hair. while it’s drying i dry my body and wash my face and get dressed then i take my hair down and put 1 drop of moroccan oil and then brush through with a wet brush. i sleep with a ponytail in the i also put an elastic at the bottom of my hair where the end of a braid would be and you get lovely beach waves. just brush your roots and brush your hair out with your fingers and you get amazing beach waves 💘

      NO PONYTAIL ON WET HAIR
      your hair is SO much more vulnerable when wet so instead you could quickly braid it ( only halfway if you want it to stay but don’t want to spent your shower braiding) to keep it out of the water.
      Or you can just use a scrunchie ( cotton, silk, or satin) instead of a ponytail

    I already followed a few of these tips but I was a bit skeptical about how much a difference the conditioner tips would make. I was so wrong removing water from your hair and running your fingers through it made the biggest difference in the softness of my hair. Thanks for the tips!

      I wash my hair once a week and I'm working towards stretching it even more. I don't use any product in my hair except for a cheap shampoo one a week. I don't use dry shampoo or hair spray or anything like that. I also don't use heat on my air. I feel like my hair is a lot healthier than my sister's who washes every day. She gets split ends a lot faster than. I'm talking months here. She'll get split ends after a month or two, but I can go over nine months and still don't have split ends.

    Trimming the hair actually does not make it grow faster. It simply makes it look healthier and retain a better appearance. Hair growth occurs only at the scalp and root level. Nothing that happens to the ends of the hair can affect the growth.

    • @hn3997
      @hn3997 5 років тому

      Alaina Atk. Actually the ends splitting from you not cutting it will continue to split and your hair will break off. So in a way she’s right.

    Hi Mindy! I love your videos! Buuuut using tea tree oil for lice prevention is a common myth. I actually work in a lice removal salon and the only proven preventative for head lice is mint. It can be any kind of mint spray, mint oil, or mint shampoo, but mint is the only known preventative. Clients come in all the time shocked that they got it because they use tea tree every day. Sorry for the bad news, but I hope this can help you and others in the future!

    • @saraha5522
      @saraha5522 4 роки тому

      I once got rid of lice with henna. You keep henna on for hours and the lice suffocate. I also read you can get rid of lice by oiling your hair very thickly with a natural oil like coconut oil and leaving it on at least 2 hours, because apparently lice can hold their breaths for over an hour but not 2.

I usually have to use so much conditioner but I used the tiniest amount and it worked so well. Pls don’t rub your hair together like how you did when you applied the argan oil on your ends. Because of the added friction, it can damage your hair. Don’t wanna ruin your beautiful hair !!

    cutting the bottom of your hair (aka the dead part) won’t make the roots (the living parts) grow faster? that doesn’t make sense. it keeps your hair looking healthier and less damaged, but it definitely won’t grow faster.

      All hair is dead. But split ends split upwards so those split strands will break and not grow

    What does it mean when your hair dries crispy-ish at the end?? Should I be putting oil on my ends?

    • @delaneykanavel3407
      @delaneykanavel3407 6 років тому +14

      Alexis Coates it just means your ends are dead. You could either get a trim or yes oil your hair, but only about the last 2 or so inches. Hope this helps!

    • @amyovard4817
      @amyovard4817 6 років тому +7

      Hey Alexis, if I were you, I’d get the ends trimmed up nice and even (even if you get layers😉) That way you can get the most life out of your hair ends. But, like Delaney said, already, definitely use an oil, especially if you can’t get a trim right away. If you get a trim and your ends are still like that, it means your hair is super dry, and it needs a little bit of TLC, and that’s easily done with a good oil, like Mindy explains in the video!! Hugs!!

      you might use too much what on it so i recommend a trim and a good conditioner and an oil like a Moroccan oil

      Yes and stop using so much heat! I would honestly stop using heat until the crispy is gone...but the only way to fix the heat damage is to cut it off unfortunately

    One trick that I have learned is that as soon as you get out of the shower put powder on the roots. This way te powder attracts to the water and when the water dries into the hair it takes oils out.

    I’ve been struggling with my hair since I’ve had my son back in 2016! It’s grown so much, I love the length but it felt so lifeless. And honestly was a drag to deal with after I showered. I have thin - fine hair and it was just a NO GO! I am pregnant again with my second baby, about 14 weeks, but my hair has been driving me insane! I’ve been dying to just chop it off and FINALLY I have great feeling hair. I did these steps today and I’ve never had my hair feel soo good! Love these steps!!

    Hi Mindy! I don't know if you will read this. But i wanted to tell you that when i saw your video i was a little skeptic because i was told one that brushing your hair wet could cause breakage and also because I did ti once, and i had a lot of hair fall. But i decided to give it a try, and for making the fall less possible, I untangled my hair before going to the shower, and after that I did everything the same as you but with a little more time with the product( I received a call jajaja) and with different products! And OMG, my hair next day was still wet, but when it dried it was soft and with so much less frizz, it felt like soft and healthy... it looked like i han iron it! it was amazing! thank you so much.

    On the splash vs submerge debate I read something a few weeks ago when looking for remedies to dry skin that said our skin and skin oils aren’t designed to deal with the intensity of the shower head so putting your face under the stream can strip your face of natural oils and cause drier skin.

    Another shampoo and conditioner that contains tea tree essential oil is Giovanni tea tree triple treat. It’s like adding tea tree, peppermint and rosemary essential oils without having to actually add them to my shampoo and conditioner. What I usually do before I turn off the water and finish showering is to end it with a cold rinse for a few seconds.

    Trimming your hair sounds like it will work but it actually doesn’t, your hair grows from the roots out not from the ends so trimming it wouldn’t help it grow because you are cutting the ends off. But trimming your hair gives it a healthier look.

    • @huppelhupje
      @huppelhupje 6 років тому +31

      Winnie Durham well it does work by growing it longer, the ends will break if you let it grow and not letting it cut by time. Their rubbing constant against your shirt and thats not making it better.
