He had a surgical procedure in 2018 to remove a growth. Easily dealt with, detected early, everything fine. He wanted to keep quiet about it but a certain well-known UK tabloid found out and ran a story about his 'cancer battle'. He was absolutely furious as (a) he'd wanted to keep it private, (b) he didn't want his Mum to be reading that and stressing out, and (c) he felt that describing it that way was an insult to people who *had* actually 'battled' cancer. But on the upside, he's completely recovered and in rude health, so it's all good.
