    In India when you break a coconut and you find the white flowerlike sprout inside, it is considered very auspicious! It tastes wonderful and yummy. Brings back memories. Thanks. Nice video.

    In the South Pacific during WWII, coconut water was used(in emergencies), as a substitute for plasma. The coconut water is sterile and while not an exact substitute was used in emergencies.

    Love your videos! After I saw your video on soursop, I was obsessed with getting a tree. Finally found a tree and planted it. Can't wait till I harvest my first fruit! I live in Los Angeles area so it should do well. ❤️ Keep the videos coming!

      I had way too much fun picking soursop - mostly because of the unexpected invite was just super cool! My soursop is still small, but doing well. If leaves do drop in winter, they do come back by spring. Go visit Exotica Rare Fruit Nursery if you get a chance. I think they have a fruiting soursop tree!

    I oil my cat w coconut oil. However, I have tried it myself. I love young coconut juice, but the more oily mature coconuts and coconut oil make me break out. I have a reaction to some plant oils.

    Can the sprout be used interchangeably where you would normally use coconut?

    • @wendiland
      @wendiland  6 років тому +2

      I would not think so because the texture of a sprouted coconut is very different than a young coconut. You can blend coconut meat to make a sauce, dip, coconut milk, or even add into curry, but you wouldn’t with a sprouted one.

    How long does it take to start sprouting after it's been picked?

    • @wendiland
      @wendiland  6 років тому

      I’m not sure exactly. It depends on the weather. I’ve tried sprouting my own in So Cal in unheated greenhouse, and it took a few months to see a tiny bump coming through. I assume in the tropics it would take a couple of months at least.

    • @afarmerslife9077
      @afarmerslife9077 2 роки тому

      It takes 3 to 4 months, differs for every nut. The coconut should be fallen itself and keep it inside soil with visible top and water regularly

    I wasn't familiar with this until "Vietnam Meets Dustin" did a video on it. He's a white guy from southern California living in the Vietnamese countryside doing crazy stuff. You should check out his channel. He's not necessarily accurate or perfect, just crazy and entertaining. But you did a much better job of showing us what the inside looks like and what it tastes like.

    Ok sorry this is so not anything close to the videos topic but I was wondering if you could answer my question which is that I have small moss balls but they stink. And I did have them with my betta's but they started to make the water stink so bad like something died. So I removed them and put all my little moss balls in a smaller tank and also some of my moss balls on some parts are white and on others are brown and I'm so cunfoused and concerned. Thanks I hope you can get back to me.

    Nice to see you still making new educational videos. And of course looking pretty as ever. You make me laugh when you try different parts of the fruit like a little bunny "I wonder how the shoot taste num num num hahaha" to cute. I've tried this part of the coconut in Panama before pretty spongy but the jelly and flesh inside and water mostly when it's green taste so good.

      Newf Guy recheck your information. While it is a saturated fats it is considered one of the healthiest fats and its benefits highly outweigh any slight rise in cholesterol.
