  • Hello, I'm Cody Montarbo the founder of Montarbo Skincare and The Montarbo Method. As San Diego's leading provider for acne, pigmentation, and chemical peels and with over 20 years of experience, I can help you achieve flawless skin regardless of your age, skin type, or budget! I got you!
    In this video, Crystal and I talk about our favorite summer skincare tips. If you struggle with your skin in the summer and feel like you lose the results you've worked so hard to get, or notice your pigmentation and acne are coming back, we got you covered. I know I've said it a million times, but SPF is your best friend. Also, don't be afraid to exfoliate and use active products like Vitamin A in the summer as well. In fact, your skin produces more oil in the summer due to the warmer weather, so it's important to slough off that dead skin to minimize breakouts and pigmentation from forming. I also show you how I apply sunscreen every day, especially in the summer, to ensure that my skin is fully protected. If you have any other questions or video suggestions, leave them in the comments and we would be more than happy to answer!

    Do you have any comment on Neumi Skin spray? They say that they 'nanosize' glutathione and NAD. But if you broke up those molecules, it would not be glutathione nor NAD anymore.

    What do you recommend for upper lip melasma ? I used dermatica and products like that and nothing no chnage after 6 months with 4% hydroquinone! Im lost on what works!

    Sir, i have watched your videos on hydroquinone, tretinoin. I am suffering from melasma from 6 years. There is no dermatologist near the place i live. All i can do is learn from videos and apply. Sir you mentiom to use lower ph acid before hydroquinone and on top of that apply tretinoin. My concern is that " other are saying don't use lower ph acid with tretinoin. It will be irritating. So how should i follow Aha, hydroquinone, tretinoin in a same routine, so that i can treat my melasma. Please recommend sir because melasma is causing me depression and no one gonna marry me with melasma on my face, already crossed 34 and still suffering. Please can you recommend a melasma routine. 🙏

      Hi there, sorry to hear of your current situation. Unfortunately I’m not a dermatologist and cannot give directions with prescription. What I would do is start slow and try aha on a different day you don’t use tretinoin. You may use Hq and Tretinoin consistently then adjust to what feels best to determine whether to add aha before. Please be very mindful of sunscreen and protecting your skin. Hq is also a serious ingredient and if it’s anything over 2%, do breaks in between like 3 months on then break 3 months. Be sure to treat the entire face to be even, you can apply more to pigment. Just know you’re enough and your skin doesn’t define the beauty that is within you.

    Hi
    I’ve got a question im trying to wrap my head around. If I use hydroquinone with tretinoin and it gets rid of all of my hyperpigmentation, and I go cold, turkey and don’t use it anymore but use other tyrosinase inhibitors will my pigmentation come back? Or do I have to continue to cycle hq on and off forever?
    Thanks
    Btw I have dark skin (African) if that has any relevance

      Hi this is a great question and understandable concern. It should not come back as long as you’re on top of your skincare and extreme protection. It also depends on the condition as some pigment can be effected by internal health or inflammation. Cycling with Hq is usually advised, especially anything over 2%. I do suggest using a vitamin a consistently in general. You do not have to stay with Hq, that’s optional and can be strategic with the season and your life style.

    I like to get my upper lip really well too. I started noticing I was getting melasma there and I do wear sunscreen on my lips but I think I rub off my facial sunscreen easily above my lip or wasn’t focusing on it enough?

      Also, you think it’s okay to do a peel in the summer? I always have in the past but I started thinking maybe I shouldn’t. I’m not really out in the sun a lot but I do have children and I’m a SAHM so my daily activities change a lot based on their activity levels and the weather!

      I use a chopstick SPF 50 on my lips and I spread a thick layer together with my normal sunscreen around my mouth as well (up to my nose and corners of nose). I reapply frequently. The Vaseline like consistency doesn’t sweat off as easily I noticed

    • @MontarboSkinCareSanDiego
      @MontarboSkinCareSanDiego  Рік тому

      Yes very likely there wasn’t enough protection, it’s hard because we don’t realize when we are no longer getting protection. Water resistant sunscreens or general awareness of reapplication in these areas is helpful.

      Absolutely, as long as you can manage your week of healing, I don’t see why not. Weather plays a big part but if you’re in a controlled setting and cooler inside, should be good. If you decide to go outdoors, just be extra with spf and no major sweating. Depends on what works for you and timing.
