  • Hello, I'm Cody Montarbo the founder of Montarbo Skincare and The Montarbo Method. As San Diego's leading provider for acne, pigmentation, and chemical peels and with over 20 years of experience, I can help you achieve flawless skin regardless of your age, skin type, or budget! I got you!
    Well hello, beautiful I hope you’re having a wonderful Saturday! Just wanted to remind you guys that we are having our spring sale this weekend. You can take 30% off everything using code: spring30.
    CHECK OUT THE SALE HERE: montarboskincar...
    Thank you guys for all of your love and support through the years. You are remarkable!
    In today’s video, I’m just sharing my current a.m. skincare routine. I mix it up almost every day so if you want me to continue to share more about my routines, let me know ( including my p.m. routine.) I do mention a little bit of my p.m. routine in today's video but I hope I haven’t confused you.
    During the day I keep it pretty simple. As soon as I wake up I rinse my face with cold water and apply a pee size amount of my Extreme Hydration Repair mask. This keeps my skin happy and hydrated from using my actives the night before.
    Later I apply sunscreen and go for my walk. When I get back from my walk I shower and get ready for work.
    I typically wash my face before work with my Gentle Glow Cream Cleanser. But today I used Obagi‘s Gentle Cleanser which I’m liking. I’m currently testing a few of his products and will update you with a final review later.
    After I cleanse, I always apply my Vitalizing Vitamin B&C serum. I recommend applying antioxidants like vitamin C after cleaning, toning or exfoliating to help prevent sun damage and pigment.
    I always apply a little bit all over and then more too stubborn areas of pigmentation like on my driver's side. I always let Vitamin C completely absorb before applying the next products.
    Then I apply a pea-size amount or less of my Extreme Hydration Repair Mask on top of the Vitamin C. This floods my skin with massive hydration a creates glass-looking skin. I also add a dash more of the mask around my eyes to help instantly plump skin which helps minimize fine lines.
    If I’m feeling in need of more moisture, like I am today, I apply Rehydration Cream or my Extreme Moisture Repair Serum. Just depends on the day and how my skin is feeling at the moment.
    Currently, I’m testing Zo Obagi’s Growth Factor Serum and only apply it around the eye area. I like to tap it into my skin and let it fully absorb. So far I’m really liking this product!
    Then I finish with sunscreen. Today I’m using UltaMD sunscreen which I love. I apply three pumps all over the face, neck, ears, and back of the neck. Then I add another three pumps and apply a thicker layer to the cheeks and forehead, or areas I’m prone to pigmentation like my driver's side. If you’re dealing with stubborn pigmentation apply a thicker layer to those areas.
    I’m so sorry but I forgot to show you my tinted sunscreen which I’ll do in a future video. I also apply tinted sunscreen. I know that might sound like a lot. Im a mess! It takes a lot of skincare to look this cheap and old...lol

    I'm new to this channel and liked your advice from what I've seen. I hope you read this and able to answer. I'm a 39 year old male that been on a skin care routine of cleansing, retinol (otc, from ulta beauty), along with roc retinol 24 hour less concentrated moisturizer on face, neck, arms. Anyway, I have dynamic forehead wrinkles and few crows feet which debating botox. Other than that, I feel my face has a dull look, and would love that bright, healthy glow. Please help with this, tried several vitamin c products. Overall, face looks better but still dull. Hope you can give advice. Also, this sound like ideal for botox? Thanks and God bless

    • @MontarboSkinCareSanDiego
      @MontarboSkinCareSanDiego  2 роки тому

      Hi thank you for reaching out and trusting my opinion. I would suggest looking into exfoliants like lactic acid or glycolic acid if you’re not using them already. This will help brighten and also remove the top layer of dead skin revealing newer skin and to allow your other products to penetrate and work even better. Botox or filler is certainly an option as skincare can only do so much for certain lines especially from expression.

    Just wondering on 2 things, 1st i use retinA and Is clinical active serum which has 4 different acids in it but was wondering about getting your Glycolic product,, i was going to stay with my retin A and than switch up either my active serum or your Glycolic product. Would that be ok or is that too much different a active products to use in a week.
    Second question for sunscreen which i use everyday always but i dont re apply cause i use my bb cream. I do have a spray, how long would you re appy if your out, i live in Newfoundland which is in canada...far far away lol. I could always use my spray suncreen if im out over my bb cream.

      @MontarboSkinCareSanDiego  2 роки тому

      Hi great questions, thank you for watching and considering trying my line. You may add a glycolic treatment slowly into your routine and adjust to what feels tolerant. Alternating nights or using a glycolic treatment when you’re not using Retin A is a good to separate. If you apply a generous amount of spf to start your day you should be good. If you’re out in the UV for more than 2 hrs it’s good to apply after 90mim to 2 hrs. There is also an option of spf powder like colorescience

    I love spring weather but spring and summer are when my skin gets super greasy and oily, it's very humid inside my apartment I like the humidity though but it causes my skin to get little whiteheads on my chin it's ridiculous! I'll wash my face in the morning and no kidding 30 minutes later I'll see little whiteheads on my cheeks and chin!
    Do I still have to moisturize even if my skin is super incredibly oily and greasy? Can I just use serums alone? I wear layers of sunscreen I'm not leaving my home without sunscreen but at home my skin seems to react to whatever moisturizer I put on even if it's oil-free, I don't get those little whiteheads during the winter I only get them in the spring and summer when my skin is the most oiliest

    • @MontarboSkinCareSanDiego
      @MontarboSkinCareSanDiego  2 роки тому +1

      Oh my goodness thank you for your very detailed comments and questions. Let’s try to figure this out. We wanna look into why you’re getting excessive oil production during these months and try to minimize that if possible so you can not feel so greasy. Are you using a good retinoid now? Also what about exfoliation? Are you doing so with a liquid exfoliate daily or every other day something like salicylic acid or lactic? I don’t think you need to add more moisturizer or products like that to your skin especially if you’re already feeling so oily. But you can’t control that oil which is important because it causes inflammation and aging.

    • @daysoftheboo
      @daysoftheboo 2 роки тому

      @@MontarboSkinCareSanDiego I exfoliate every other day I use a product called Cetaphil extra gentle daily scrub it doesn't contain salicylic acid but I use Neutrogena oil-free acne wash that has cellistic acid I don't use a retinoid but I use Neutrogena healthy skin and tie wrinkle cream which says it contains retinoid facial treatment with multivitamins, I wanted to get a prescription strength retinoid from my doctor but it's $250 it's not covered by my insurance , I naturally have oily skin but during the spring and Summer it gets even more super greasy especially on hot days because in my apartment it's very hot and humid in here I like the humidity I love hot weather but my skin doesn't like it, I wash my face and a couple of minutes later my skin is already shiny and greasy , can hot and humid weather encourage oil glands to produce more oil? I feel like that's what's going on with my skin during the hot weather, I noticed I don't get as many whiteheads when I only use serums and not moisturizer but I've heard it's still important to moisturize even during hot weather but when I do moisturize when I put on my moisturizer that's when I get the most whiteheads on my chin and cheek areas, that's why I don't know what to do if it's okay to just use serums alone without moisturizer? Or maybe I should use a moisturizer that's safe to use on very oily skin? But which one would be the best?

      @@daysoftheboo Hi I also have oily/ combo skin. I live in France and have always felt the need to use a light moisturizer even in the summer in South of Francd. But when I am in Congo which is a humid tropical African country, I don't use a moisturizer as any moisturiser becomes heavy. Some Dermatologists say you have to moisturise others say it depends it is not mandatory. Listen to your skin, not everyone needs a moisturiser under any weather. But you could try a cleanser with salycilic acid daily like the one from the Inkey List and a serum that contains Niacinamide as it helps minimizing oil production. Slowly starting with a low percentage retinA/ retinol.... should help to. I use the nightly serum from Dr Sam and I really like it. Hope it helps.

    What do you think to ZO Skin Health products. I’ve used a lot of them, and I don’t think they are worth the price tag. People buy into them because of how famous Dr Obagi is, when in reality they are full of alcohol, artificial colours and other nasties
