a uk born citzen my dad from trinidad and my mum from jamaica , i have never been to these islands whats your impression of Trinidad and Tobago compared to other carribbean islands
You keep saying that you are new at this. Weill you are a quick learner. Trinidad is THE place to be in the E Caribbean during hurricane season. Glad you like it. I spent every hurricane season there. Loved it. A high point of Trinidad is the culture home of calypso style music Harry Belafante launched Trinidad musical fame. Steel Pan music is amazing Jass Rock Classical. They do it all. I am a musician and got “plugged in” to the music performing there in clubs, concerts etc. Trinidad music scene is great. Poke around and find some live music to enjoy. As far as danger, I never had any issues there. With my cruising I have lived in 18 countries and visited over 50. I have been robbed at gunpoint twice! Both in a very dangerous country. It is called …………………the United States of America. Just use common sense and as you are doing, talk to locals. PS find/befriend some locals and get “plugged in” to some good things there.
Daniela is a jewel and I'm very happy you are not willing to risk her safety and well being for the sake of views on UA-cam. You protect her love and well being with all you have. Congrats on the sponsor. Beautiful and wet tour of the island. Be safe this hurricane season.
I really liked the tour of the boatyard. I think some sailing channels try too much to only focus on the sailing; Maybe afraid that people don't enjoy the other things. But I think for those of us that have never lived on a boat it's all very interesting, at least once or twice. I've met many people from Trinidad and worked with a few. I love their accent and work attitude, at least anecdotally. Daniela is awesome and you both have a very natural welcoming presence on camera. Always makes me smile to see you two.
Thank you that brings back a lot of memories from my frequent visits to Trinidad in the 80’s and 90’s if you had visited Independence square you would have been treated to the best food from the food trucks.
Beautiful top Dani! The step up in formality suits you. The pattern is interesting, the fabric blouses well, and the cut is flattering while still being conservatively suggestive. You have good taste and you wear it well.
Beryl was an intense, but very small hurricane (diameter of the system). At it's most intense, the winds were 140 kts but they dropped rapidly with the distance from the eye.
Love the video And a great high 5 For looking after the safety of Daniela and you She is such a inspiration for you and me Enjoy it till the next video Can't wait for it
Wow ,superb video .I love your videos so awesome 👌 ⛵️ Keep them posting .I was in the Caribbean Islands a long time ago about 30 years ago .Greetings from the beautiful and peaceful place Punta Arenas Antarctica Patagonia Chile 🇨🇱
Hi, Just finished watching your video and was wondering what food did you get at the restaurant with the nice views towards the end if the video? The food in Trinidad is top tier ( I'm biased). I like your story. It's very inspiring and I enjoy watching you and Daniela. Safe travels.🙏🏿👍🏾
Sorry to hear of your bad experience in South Africa, I have lived here for over 14 years now and have fortunately not had a bad experience, although I do know others here that have. However, there are great things about this country so the bad things are worth putting up with. I hope you will sail over to here and I can show you and Danilella a better time.
Appreciate the mention of the stolen outboard motor. I've heard from Trinidadians that it's a very dangerous country, but it seems like the violence is more in the city than coastal communities. Still rife with theft like any country I guess, always good to keep your guard up.
Very interesting and enjoyable tour around the city. The architecture of the churches and buildings.was unique. I think that it is time for you to put some luggage trackers or air tags on your dinghy and its motor. 🙂 Nice to see that you have a sponsor for this video. Thanks for sharing.
The locals are conservative, and dress professional or respectfully covered. Always carry an umbrella. If you don't want to be a target dress like the locals. There were fabulous fabric shops in downtown Trinidad when I was there 12 years ago. I bought beautiful marine vinyl for making new boat cushions. Also big supermarkets have great selection & prices. We used Jesse James Taxi/Bus service. Just keep everything locked up. 🌴⛵🐬🤗
Your past experience taught you that you can get robbed in a crowded place. Be aware also that you can get robbed in an open, lonely area in broard daylight. You still have to be aware walking through parks when there are hardly folks doing the same. Great views stay safe.👍🇹🇹
Pepper pot is a Guyanese dish. In Trinidad you will get doubles, pelau, calalloo, macaroni pie and several types of roti along with a variety of Chinese dishes.
I am happy that Beryl blew so many yachters down to Trinidad. I will agree that our Immigration Officers are generally not a friendly bunch. But once you get pass them, most Trinis are humble and loving as Tilo the German tourist who recently walked the length of the island proved. Of course, you need to be careful and not take unnecessary risks. Stay on the beaten track and you trip here should be enjoyable. A warm welcome to you and Daniela.
Hi I live in Panamá and have a marine salvage company here but also due deliveries around the Caribean and having a Columbian crew is a pain in the butt! visas ,searches and just that unfortunately they have a bad reputation which is to bad because most Columbians are good and friendly people.
You ever been to Trinidad or Tobago ? The Brian Lara Promenade is a very large square that cover the whole length of the downtown start from the waterfront ends at the back of the RC church that this video shown you just saw a small part of it so assuming its needs revamping isn't necessary it's a very busy area that in my opinion needs added lighting
@ayotalsamoth6867 you really don't know Trinidadian its no b.s of course tourist gets attack especially in the POS (city) even gets killed in our sister Island so don't be dumb and show it
I would like to politely remind you that there are many places named Trinidad in the area you are crossing. Providing the GPS position in the description of the movie would be much appreciated.
The level of inefficiency and corruption in this administration is becoming absurd. Those who are disabled and do not receive the support to which they are legally entitled make me sad. I sincerely thank you, Leah Foster Alderman. Imagine making $6k in four days with an investment of $1.5k.
That woman transformed my entire life for the better. Among the folks I've met, Leah appears to be the most trustworthy. I'm surprised you know her as well.

I love my country ❤🤍🖤
Beryl was an intense, but very small hurricane (diameter of the system). At it's most intense, the winds were 140 kts but they dropped rapidly with the distance from the eye.
It peeled roofs, knocked over trees, powerlines & fences and covered the airport in mud on Bequia, 50 nm from the eye, to give people an idea.
Welcome to my island of Trinidad u should visit blue basin waterfall's in diego martin
Cool town thanks for showing it. I hope you got some good snacks at the store. Boating is hard work!

You made it and you're alive and take precautions we live in a world of good and evil...
I'm from Trinidad...
I would have a new quadrant fabbed from aluminum or stainless and the one you have is compromised . You maybe can salvage one off a similar boat .
Leuke video en jullie leven het echte leven! Geniet ervan samen. Gr. uit de Flevopolder
Dank jullie wel!
I was just searching Where's the Dutch guy living in a van in Pakistan, what's he up to, here you are on a great adventure, awesome lol
I live in Trinidad😊
Can you bring us along to a local Roti shop? And look for a local dish called Pepper Pot. Also must go to a bakery and order Pine Tarts..
Good suggestion!
whats pine tarts
Pepper pot is a Guyanese dish. In Trinidad you will get doubles, pelau, calalloo, macaroni pie and several types of roti along with a variety of Chinese dishes.
You will get those items in Guyana. Not Trinidad or Tobago.
Nice, you listened. Nice. Smart. Lady
Hi totally enjoy watching your video, welcome to TNT be safe enjoy like any other country there are unsafe places not to go ok blessings 🙏😻👍💐😀

I think the main square in port of Spain needs a revamp very soon starting to look a way

It doesn't look very dangerous. Is it really true?
Outside from city center we felt very safe
Certain areas due to gang activity...just like many other places..
Which area was this filmed?
This is The Cathedral of The Immaculate Conception - Independence Square, Port-Of-Spain, Trinidad and Tobago, West-Indies.
Nice to see you guys but be very careful with your money here have too much crime robbery & killing be safe enjoy

...There's only one Trinidad and Tobago (as noted in the video title)😉
Actually, its cheaper than the US.
Trinidad is nice but it has become a shit hole pls be safe out there
Kinda sad to see the island with trash everywhere and things falling apart, otherwise a beautiful place
Trash where though ! There is barely trash around the city like that.
Did you check 8n with IMMIGRATION??????
Port of Spain is the least intresting part of Trinidad
