In the 20-21 season Giannis missed 11 of the 72 games, Murray didn't get hurt until about the final quarter of the season and MPJ played the majority of the season(though he got unknowingly injured sometime before the playoffs and still played). 21-22 is when Murray and MPJ were out most of the season. Let's be real here, the NBA MVP is ALWAYS based on vibes. I'm one of the biggest D Rose fans but realistically speaking he shouldn't have won that MVP and theres a good list of names along side his that prove this but D Rose and those other names all FELT like the MVP and we all just kinda went with it cuz we felt it too. This one though? This one wasn't it. Embiid not only didn't deserve the MVP, he also just didn't feel like one. This started as Lukas year and finished as Jokics year. Then the media came in and changed the narrative and now here we are. Following the NBA gets so tiring because of stuff like this, it feels like nothing matters and its all just politics at the end of the day. Edit: Go watch JxmyHighrollers video about MVPs who won it when they probably didn't deserve it if you doubt me on that one
I still don't get why people still think D Rose shouldn't have got it. It's not like he had another player on the team that was just as good as him like Bron did with Wade. You could even argue Wade is the most valuable player of that team alone and had a solid case for MVP himself.
@@rwholemilkisgood5050 There wasn't a huge difference in their stats though. If you were to swap their teams and their numbers, Lebron with slight lower stats on the Bulls with a better record would win, only no one would complain about it. The only reason it's seen as controversial with Rose is because so many people in this era want to find any way to elevate Lebron to GOAT status, winning 3 in a row would've been one of them because it's something MJ didn't achieve.
@@ranchosdelnorte I mean tbh I fw d rose so I wouldn’t argue against the mvp, but the storyline of d rose being the protagonist of the nba def helped his mvp case, I mean I don’t think people would argue that lebron wasn’t a better player that year, but d rose had the narrative and the record to go along with his flashy game
You spend 90% of this video talking about their postseasons for a regular season award because you dont even watch the regular season. You play 2k over watching actual ball
Embiid isn't top 5 until he can get past the 2nd round. He ain't better than Giannis, Curry, Luka, Tatum, Joker, or Jimmy Butler (hot take but f*ck it)
Is he most valuable player in his team and NBA I think no,Joeal doing selfish thing Jokic can put 50 points any day but if don't assist if only he shoothing like Embid so is he most valuable player and what matter 50 points if your team loose?
Listen, both of them deserved it, maybe Jokic a tad more, but its a regular season award. Due to the Nuggets winning a chip, everyone says Jokic deserved it more, but that's hindsight. With all that being said, if MJ, Shaq, LeBron, and Kobe didn't win 3 in a row, neither should Jokic, I'm sorry. Yes its voter fatigue, but thats the way its always been, so just keep it going. There are so many great football players who deserved ballon d'ors, but never won it because of the constant dick sucking for Messi and Ronaldo. Its nice seeing someone else win it once in a while. Giannis and Jokic clearly didn't give a f**k about the MVP anymore, glad Joel got it. Sympathy? Sure.
Embiid might be the least deserved MVP I’ve ever experienced. I can remember years where it was good cases and I didn’t like the result. But Embiids and Westbrooks are the most laughable “let’s not give it to the other guy” MVPs of all time. Anybody disagreeing just trying to be diplomatic. 2017 and 2023 are the least diplomatic MVPs ever.
Yea. People like to change the narrative but as it happened live, Embiid was the right choice. Jokic and Denver stopped caring about the reg season for like the last 3-4 weeks meanwhile Embiid was dropping 56 on Boston a week before the season ended.
@@theprocessss 1 month doesn't outweigh a whole season, especially when it's during a period when teams that already locked a playoff spot are preparing for the postseason and teams eliminated from the playoffs are trying to lose for better draft position. Embiid's only argument is points, which he got through tons of free throws and having one of the highest usage rates. Meanwhile, there way more arguments against him even before you compare him to Joker. Such as: Missed a ton of games, plays with a former MVP, didn't play in Denver for 4th straight year, and his team actually has a better winning percentage without him. Plus it's not like Embiid didn't have bad stretches of his own during the season. The narrative never got changed, Jokic was seen as the better player with the better season but it was clear they didn't want to give Jokic 3 in a row because of who had and hadn't achieved that in the past.
@@ranchosdelnorte I was just going to say those morons won't even read your post. Then I saw they replied admitting they won't. You are of course correct, but they will never concede on any point. Emiid did not deserve the MVP in any of the last 3 seasons, though he should have been in the running this season imo. Everything about his play besides blocks was worse than Jokic's imo, and I am including scoring. Too many braindead fans can't process what they're seeing besides seeing the ball go into the basket. So PPG to them will always be the be-all, end-all. Like how they think Iverson was an amazing scorer. . .when he averaged like 40% FG% which is ass. He just shot way more than everyone else and it cost his team TONS of games, which is why he and almost every other high PPG/low FG% players never have good records and always tank in the playoffs. Embiid is overrated as hell. Always was. With how pissy his attitude is I doubt he will ever even come close to winning a championship as a main guy. In fact, I would bet money that injury prone clown will never play a full season at any point in his career either. He literally averages less than 44 games played per season for his career since he was drafted. Only 56 if you exclude the first two seasons of his career where he literally played zero games of the 164 possible.
People still crying "6th seed, 6th seed", there was only a 3 game difference in their team records with Jokic actually having a better individual winning percentage than Embiid or Giannis. Only reason Bucks and Sixers had a better record is because they were able to still win without their superstars while Nuggets were a miserable 2-8 without Jokic. Embiid and his defenders only have points as their argument and nothing else. Jokic had the highest PER in history plus first ever 2,000pt 1,000rb 500ast season along with 100stl. Jokic even had a better defensive rating than Joel and Giannis last year.

When they played in the 1st round u wanna act again as if the rockets weren't a better team and harden just cooked russ for 5 games when that wasn't the case at all. Also u bring up "hardens the one going to CF" bruh he went to the WCF ONE TIME and need a top 5 PG chris paul to do it. Russ deserved the MVP in 2017 over Harden
he went to the conference finals in 2015 as well you casual. at least know a lil nba history before you talk and this is coming from a guy who thinks harden is massively overrated.
@@ozzee5094 I was definitely talking about during the MVP race and after dumbass, cuz if we counting before that yr Russ was in the WCF in 2014 and 2016 so idk why bringing up Harden in 2015 is relevant
No way bro, that year Westbrook had 100. He averaged a triple double, but I didn't realize how great Hradens stats were though. But Westbrook had a terrible team that year.
Disrepectful to say Embiid is better than Dwight Howard.
Saying it right now LeBron winning MVP next season
I'm a lebron guy but I wish he was lmao.
If he does he'll proll average 27.8 pts, 7.6 rbs, 8.5 ast on 52% from the field with 1.3 stl and 0.9 blks
D Rose got a Vote cause he dropped his Career High
very similar to talent level. No sir i'm gonna have to check you on that. This season proved they're not on the same level.
facts
Jokic stole Embiid’s MVP last year. So it’s fair.
Rose getting a first place vote in the 2020s just invalidated the MVP more than it already was.
He’s better. End quite. What a great fucking argument clique. Top tier argument! Stop it. If you’re gonna claim something as such. Present an argument.
LOL yep they pretend to be blind not seeing the number
"stole" lol
I just watched this today too haha.
Gtfoh embiid deserved it last year and this year
Let's be real here, the NBA MVP is ALWAYS based on vibes.
Nah. I’m not the biggest rose fan but he played 81 games and averaged 25 & 7 on a 62 win team. Classic best player on the best team case.
I still don't get why people still think D Rose shouldn't have got it. It's not like he had another player on the team that was just as good as him like Bron did with Wade. You could even argue Wade is the most valuable player of that team alone and had a solid case for MVP himself.
@@ranchosdelnorte I mean that does count for a story line, a better record with a worse team despite having worse stats than lebron
Embiid should've won 2 seasons ago but he got injured so its fine he gets one now
Sorry but your wrong, the only stats that embid better than jokic is ppg.Every other stats joker better especially advance stats
@@mrp4730 And his PPG is clearly inflated too since he clearly couldn't score in the postseason if his life depended on it.
@@snakeplissken7671embid plays in post season????
@@hughmann7485 He does. At least until the 2nd round. 🤣
@@hughmann7485 Allegedly.
Joel is better defensively
Not in the playoffs.
@pfwag The MVP is a regular season reward and yes Embiid is better defensively in the playoffs
His defense is overrated. Guards and wings are more important defenders in todays league.
@@moonwalde7926 if anything it's just right
You spend 90% of this video talking about their postseasons for a regular season award because you dont even watch the regular season. You play 2k over watching actual ball
There is reason to dislike embiid lmao. He’s always been too much of a trash talker and flopper
Embiid isn't top 5 until he can get past the 2nd round. He ain't better than Giannis, Curry, Luka, Tatum, Joker, or Jimmy Butler (hot take but f*ck it)
Cliques gotta be Joel’s biggest hater
All you gotta say is Kendrick Perkins. He's the one who robbed Jokic of the MVP.
It’s funny cuz the knicks might trade for him in the future
@@reggaefan2700 Everyone who jumped on the racist bandwagon with him is just as guilty.
joel alright, hopefully he makes it out of the 2nd round before he retires
U just one of them people that doesn’t listen.
Agreed with most of the vid, but gotta disagree with James harden MVP over Westbrook, and this is coming from a rockets fan
I would disagree with Russell Westbrook MVP over Harden
Sympathy? Sure.
Except for avg points scored and blocks, the Joker dominated in every other statistical category.
@@pfwagexactly
Jokić is the greatest passer at his position, Embiid isn’t the greatest at any skill within his position
He got the best crossover. That's nice I guess
Scoring? Name a center that better at scoring CURRENTLY
I wanted to watch your reaction, but the pauses, and interaction with your chat made it unwatchable.
Joel Embiid deserved this MVP. He didn't steal anything.
You are correct Embiid didn’t steal it…..he robbed Jokic of that MVP…and Perkins was an accomplice to that robbery 💯
@macman2141 No he didn't. He won the MVP same way Joker won his the year before
Embiid might be the least deserved MVP I’ve ever experienced.
I've never seen someone avg 30 and 10 with great defense and people say he didn't "deserve MVP" people just like to hate embiid for no reason
Jesus Christ loves you
Yeah embidd won it fair and square but ya'll wanna just lie about it
Yea. People like to change the narrative but as it happened live, Embiid was the right choice. Jokic and Denver stopped caring about the reg season for like the last 3-4 weeks meanwhile Embiid was dropping 56 on Boston a week before the season ended.
@@theprocessssAnd Jokic still had a better season
@@ranchosdelnorte don’t wanna read that. You win 🥇

So did Jokic steal the mvp when his team was the 6th seed and scored less ppg than Joel? Stupid argument
Yes. He did steal the MVP from Giannis not Joel.
Everything clique says is retarded
People still crying "6th seed, 6th seed", there was only a 3 game difference in their team records with Jokic actually having a better individual winning percentage than Embiid or Giannis. Only reason Bucks and Sixers had a better record is because they were able to still win without their superstars while Nuggets were a miserable 2-8 without Jokic.
Embiid and his defenders only have points as their argument and nothing else. Jokic had the highest PER in history plus first ever 2,000pt 1,000rb 500ast season along with 100stl. Jokic even had a better defensive rating than Joel and Giannis last year.
At this point, putting Embiid over Jokic is either racism, xenophobia or stupidity. Which one y’all wanna cop to?
