      It’s what happens when the media controls so much of how people vote. I’ve heard people say that Perkins’s racism comments didn’t hold weight, but they do hold weight when the only votes that matter are media members. When your friend and coworker is saying something, you gotta back him up. The fact that Jokić got left off an MVP ballot says it all to me.

    It’s pretty simple why Embiid Won the MVP over Jokic last season. The Perkins “it’s racist to choose Jokic” shit lit the fire, some of the play during that time just accelerated it, the fact that is would be 3 in a row for Jokic got many idiots in the media talking about that you need to be one of the best players of all time in order to win 3 in a row (as if the state of the league/MVP race at the time means nothing) and Embiid being so brazen as to bitch and complain about EVERYTHING just solidified it.

    • @ranchosdelnorte
      @ranchosdelnorte Рік тому +8

      In the 20-21 season Giannis missed 11 of the 72 games, Murray didn't get hurt until about the final quarter of the season and MPJ played the majority of the season(though he got unknowingly injured sometime before the playoffs and still played). 21-22 is when Murray and MPJ were out most of the season.
      Nuggets are always good when healthy despite usually having slow starts. The last 5 years they are 2 or 3 in regular season wins, and have been a top 3 seed in 4 of those years. People try to make a big deal about being a 6th seed last year, but the West was stacked with teams with great records and their record from last year would've got them no.3 seed this year. The difference between Nuggets and Bucks in 20-21 should have been bigger but Milwaukee was still able to win when they were missing Giannis.

      Embiid’s regular season was entirely based on FT’s and having a former MVP on his team to pass him the ball. Similar idea to John Stockton and Karl Malone on the Jazz. Embiid takes a million shots and 13 FT’s a game in the regular season because he’s only an iso player and Harden passes him the ball. It ain’t a coincidence Harden led the league in Assists.
      If anyone legitimately thinks Embiid had a better regular season than Jokić, they’re delusional. Jokić is clearly the better player, and Embiid hasn’t played in Denver since 2019. He’s ducked him consistently and “been injured” for about a fourth of every season. Crazy stuff.

      @@mikenike7315 yes, they are delusional. Most NBA fans don’t watch games, especially not Nuggets games. It ain’t a coincidence Embiid gets dumpstered every time he faces somewhat real competition in the playoffs, even though this year the Celtics tried their absolute best to hand that series to the Sixers on a silver platter. If you look at any stats, or watch any games and how they play out, Jokić is the best and Most Valuable Player in the league.

      Embiid's only argument is points, which he got through tons of free throws and having one of the highest usage rates.
      Meanwhile, there way more arguments against him even before you compare him to Joker.
      Such as: Missed a ton of games, plays with a former MVP, didn't play in Denver for 4th straight year, and his team actually has a better winning percentage without him. Plus it's not like Embiid didn't have bad stretches of his own during the season.
      The narrative never got changed, Jokic was seen as the better player with the better season but it was clear they didn't want to give Jokic 3 in a row because of who had and hadn't achieved that in the past.

      Emiid did not deserve the MVP in any of the last 3 seasons, though he should have been in the running this season imo. Everything about his play besides blocks was worse than Jokic's imo, and I am including scoring.
      Too many braindead fans can't process what they're seeing besides seeing the ball go into the basket. So PPG to them will always be the be-all, end-all. Like how they think Iverson was an amazing scorer. . .when he averaged like 40% FG% which is ass. He just shot way more than everyone else and it cost his team TONS of games, which is why he and almost every other high PPG/low FG% players never have good records and always tank in the playoffs.
      Embiid is overrated as hell. Always was. With how pissy his attitude is I doubt he will ever even come close to winning a championship as a main guy.
      In fact, I would bet money that injury prone clown will never play a full season at any point in his career either. He literally averages less than 44 games played per season for his career since he was drafted. Only 56 if you exclude the first two seasons of his career where he literally played zero games of the 164 possible.

Only reason Bucks and Sixers had a better record is because they were able to still win without their superstars while Nuggets were a miserable 2-8 without Jokic.
      Embiid and his defenders only have points as their argument and nothing else. Jokic had the highest PER in history plus first ever 2,000pt 1,000rb 500ast season along with 100stl. Jokic even had a better defensive rating than Joel and Giannis last year.
