- Hey guys, I today's video I talk about how to overclock a GPU. You may want to do this to boost the performance of your graphics card and get it's full potential. When you buy a graphics card it is set to factory defaults meaning it is not running at peak performance. By following the instructions in the video you can increase the performance of your GPU and get the most out of your hardware.

hey guys am planning on OC my Nvidia 1080 ti I have never done OC before so this is all knew to me I have a few questions.
1. am I suppose to play with the numbers till it crashes to find the final number I can push my card ?
2. do I need to mess around with the fans? I seen videos where ppl say if you don't know what your doing leave them on auto and some that say auto is bad.
3. how long do I need to leave the bench mark program run after am done with OC.
4. any preset any one can share for a 1080 ti reference card.
5. do I need after burner open in the background always to have the OC take effect?

i want to note that you should stress test overclocked gpu with what resolution your game will be using most of the time. 1280x720, 1980x1080, etc. If you didn't notice, he's getting 200+ fps on his kobustor window, this is because the res is low(lower than 480). I stress tested my gpu(1050ti) with 720res i can't even go over 70fps. I tried running Zelda BotW(cemu and without other FPS hax). It gave me a 15fps(min) to 20(max) compare to a very unstable fps that I have before. This is pretty much playable. I currently have 20-25 that sometimes drops to 15 for a moment then goes back again with other fps hax.

So if you put power limit at 100% so it will increase fps on games

You can directly Mod your card from the GPU bios settings. Even through I had a grey display, I could change the memory clock and manually set fan speeds if I have to
Also, 2 of my rx 570 work at 24 mh/s and my other one is working at 28. Kind of strange

i have water cooling and my temperature stays really low

On the left of my afterburner screen, GPU Clock and Mem Clock are above half always. Even when idle, i dont know why but is that normal? I have a GTX 1070 MHz and GPU clock is 1500 and Mem Clock is 4300 MHz, is that normal?

That program I downloaded, it's just a stress test that was trying to blow up my card. No controls for fan etc.... doesn't look anything like what you have in this video. Edit; the mistake I made was downloading the benchmark tool. The website has changed. The actual download button is at the very bottom of the page left side. Saw the android app there, thought those were all phone apps. Had to take a second look dang I'm loosing it.

overclock it so your card doesnt go over 70-80 degrees celsius i would say. just dont max it out unless you have a wind turbine right next to it

Never set your power over 100%. It reduces the life of the board. You're right in leaving the temp at 83 and the fan speed to auto.
What do you put it at if not 100?

Yes you can, your motherboard will shut off before it fries, don’t worry.

Thanks and i learned it the hard way. The fan spinned at max for about 5 min, before shutting down.

Yes you can overlock most other graphics card with this as well. Doesn’t have to be the brands you mentioned.

Processor: Amd FX-8320 - 8 core

Platform: Windows NT 6.2 - 64 bit
and when I go into Afterburner the power and temp limits are grayed out plz help i want to over clock (and yes i can see them so its not in the User interface).
The issue is you are using the wrong program, you see since you have an AMD card this will not work for you. You should go watch my video on how to overclock an AMD graphics card.

Some cards have the bios locked from the factory, see if there is any software that came with the card you can use instead.
Pretty much everything for me is grey, only the Core clock and Memory clock r not grey, even the two clocks are grey, please tell me why and how to fix this.

No, that should not happen. The GTX1050 is a fairly low power card and most models lack even a 6-pin connector. They have pre-set thresholds for power limit that are safe for your motherboard to output.

Some graphics cards have their own software for overclocking. Try to research overclocking on your exact card.

I fixed it now, but that wouldn’t work, as I when I booted into safe mode nothing happened.

Games usually doesn't take all 4 gb, some games might do but they're often around 2 gb! BUT the 4 gb ones is better.

That's a cpu not a GPU. I would probably do it in bios or use a different video.
It seems you overclock your cpu as normal and the integrated graphics goes up with it

To be honest it surprised me that the plastic backing never melted, Or ANY plastic inside that thing for that fact lol. But I don't suggest running something worth money that high. 70-80c is usual what you wanna be at nothing much higher unless you don't care.
