I dont think he was that calculating. In fact I know he wasn't. He sang because it was his passion. And he put his whole heart and soul into it for most of his life. He is honored for that and what he gave so generously to humanity.

Nessun Dorma ( "no one sleeps") is an aria from Puccini's opera "Turandot", sung by all the great ( and near great ) opera stars (male and female)........this is probably the most moving rendition of all....R.I.P., Maestro Pavarotti.......
Nick - if you ever get the chance to study classical voice, Please do ! You have a gorgeous baritone and you’re so musical! Nessun Dorma means “ no one sleeps “ because the Chinese princess will execute the whole town if he doesn’t guess the answers to three riddles correctly. Fairytale! ! I always recommend CARMEN for new opera goers. It’s highly melodic, rhythmical and sexy! You know themes from it- especially the Toreador song. A must watch!!
Thanks for sharing this aria from Turandot. I had the pleasure and privilege to see Pavarotti perform in Sydney many years ago. Real life goose bumps. I’ve been an opera fan ever since.
I knew someone who was training in voice. He said a major rule is to always stay in character until the music ends (not when you are done singing). He does this to perfection
Yeah he really lives this song and feels and makes you feel all of this. Pavarotti is incredibly good. Going to the opera, at least once, is great. I'm not really an opera fan, but we went once last year and it was great! The song's title means 'no-one sleeps': the princess ordered the village to remain awake all night to discover the identity of the person Pavarotti is playing. The Charismatic Voice did a great reaction of this performance and goes into great detail about everything. She also said that he had trouble at first, quit for a while before rising to stardom. My vocal coach has me sing an aria for the development of my voice :-)
This is from Puccini's Opera. It's the story of a princess who refuses to be married. To discourage men pursuing her she states that anyone wanting her must answer 3 riddles, but anyone that tries and fails is beheaded. She kills many many men until Pavarotti's character comes along. He's loved her for very long and he successfully answers the riddles anonymously. She's absolutely furious and announces that no one is allowed to sleep that night until he is found and brought to her so that she could kill him. This song is him somewhat mocking her "Nesun Dorma" = "none shall sleep" and announcing that he will win. The last two lines that were very powerful actually mean "I will win". Gorgeous opera and breathtaking song.

I have actually seen The 3 tenors live in concert in Gothenburg in 1996. That was one of the best experiences ever. And I heard the lovely Pavarotti sing Nessun Dorma live. ❤ Pavarotti had the most beautiful and iconic tenor voice of them all. It was (and is) just magical.

So thank you Luciano, I have now Angelina in my heart for the rest of my life ! 😍
He sold insurance and was a school teacher in his hometown of Modena, Italy. He studied music for 6 years before singing in public. He also said he suffered from stage fright that never left him. He sang in Central Park in New York before 500,000 people. Not bad for an opera singer.
Opera singing mostly requires A LOT OF WORK to reach such level of proficiency. Added to natural talent you reach absolute perfection. Luciano Pavarotti was one of the best - if not "the" best" - tenors of his generation.
Man, watching you react to his changes was awesome. Your appreciation, and ability to understand the magnificence of he was able to do with his voice was obvious.
Now you are reacting to top shelf singers you have A Listers then there is the top shelf and he is one of a handful that sit on the top. RIP Luciano Pavarotti you will never be forgotten.
Yeah, Pavarotti is incredibly good, he is considered one of the greatest tenors of all time, and he also became well known as a duet partner to many pop artists, he was one of the biggest superstars. Enrico Caruso is considered the greatest tenor of all time. He was born to poor parents in Naples in 1873 and begged his way through life as a street singer to pay for singing lessons. I grew up with Mario Lanza, an Italian-American born in Philadelphia in 1921 who has become known as an opera singer (tenor) and actor around the world. I still love his films to this day. The most beautiful film with Mario Lanza was from 1951 (The Great Caruso). I'm not an opera fan, I've dealt with this topic a little bit, that's fascinating, because the rock and pop music that we listen to today was influenced by a lot of musical styles. A good example was Freddie Mercury, the lead singer of Queen, who let the opera music influence his voice but also his stage presence. A good example is the song, Bohemian Rhapsody, which contains elements of opera.
Nessun dorma! Nessun dorma! Tu pure, oh Principessa Nella tua fredda stanza Guardi le stelle che tremano d'amore E di speranza Ma il mio mistero è chiuso in me Il nome mio nessun saprà No, no, sulla tua bocca lo dirò Quando la luce splenderà Ed il mio bacio scioglierà il silenzio Che ti fa mia Dilegua, oh notte Tramontate, stelle Tramontate, stelle All'alba vincerò Vincerò Vincerò ‐---‐------------------------------------- No sleep! No sleep! You too, oh Princess In your cold room You look at the stars that tremble with love And of hope But my mystery is closed in me My name no one will know No, no, on your lips I will say it When the light will shine And my kiss will dissolve the silence That makes you mine Go away, oh night Go down, stars Go down, stars I'll win at dawn I will win I will win
As others have said this holds memories of others too. My dad passed away a few months ago and he used to be an amateur operatic singer who terrified me as a kid belting this out around the house full throatedly. Brings a tear to my eye. They are expensive things to go watch, and a lot of rich toffs go usually but it’s well worth going in person if ever the opportunity arises to feel the music shaking your whole body not just through headphones.
How about Mario Lanza in movies and a nine year old girl who won HOLLANDS GOT TALENT with it, Amira Willighagen. Enrico Caruso had passed away by then.
Merci de faire connaître à un nouveau public les émotions de l’opéra. Pavarotti n’est pas seul. Il y a sur les scènes mondiales des chanteurs extraordinaires . Alller les écouter et pas seulement dans Turandot.
No synth. No vocoder. No auto-tune. Just pure human with a set of vocal cords signed by God.
auto-tune?!?! are you joking. this is another sport.
and that's not perfect. that's opera for americans.
Puccini? Opera for Americans? Come on...
Yes but also many many years of hard work and practice. A man doesn't just wake up one morning and start to sing like like this.

This never fails to make me cry. I was incredibly blessed to hear Pavarotti sing live in Central Park many years ago.
Nessun dorma! Nessun dorma!
Tu pure, oh Principessa
Nella tua fredda stanza
Guardi le stelle che tremano d'amore
E di speranza
Ma il mio mistero è chiuso in me
Il nome mio nessun saprà
No, no, sulla tua bocca lo dirò
Quando la luce splenderà
Ed il mio bacio scioglierà il silenzio
Che ti fa mia
Dilegua, oh notte
Tramontate, stelle
Tramontate, stelle
All'alba vincerò
Vincerò
Vincerò
‐---‐-------------------------------------
No sleep! No sleep!
You too, oh Princess
In your cold room
You look at the stars that tremble with love
And of hope
But my mystery is closed in me
My name no one will know
No, no, on your lips I will say it
When the light will shine
And my kiss will dissolve the
silence
That makes you mine
Go away, oh night
Go down, stars
Go down, stars
I'll win at dawn
I will win
I will win
As others have said this holds memories of others too. My dad passed away a few months ago and he used to be an amateur operatic singer who terrified me as a kid belting this out around the house full throatedly. Brings a tear to my eye. They are expensive things to go watch, and a lot of rich toffs go usually but it’s well worth going in person if ever the opportunity arises to feel the music shaking your whole body not just through headphones.
He was old here but still kills any other opera singer in history
How about Mario Lanza in movies and a nine year old girl who won HOLLANDS GOT TALENT with it, Amira Willighagen. Enrico Caruso had passed away by then.
@@Spo-Dee-O-Dee : I prefer Jussi Björling.
Tears and chills. He is miraculous.
Keep expanding your horizons!!!! You feel the music..... Keep feeling.
The maestro goes viral - in my wilderst dream I never would thought that 😂
I think for some this is live changing ❤
Love from Austria/Europe 🇦🇹
Merci de faire connaître à un nouveau public les émotions de l’opéra.
Pavarotti n’est pas seul. Il y a sur les scènes mondiales des chanteurs extraordinaires . Alller les écouter et pas seulement dans Turandot.
His performance of "Nessun Dorma" at the Winter Olympics is spectacular!!! Loved your reaction!!!🎵🎼🎶🎤🎙🎸🎹🥁🔥
Good quality audio. Congrats.
