- This is the 1st HD gopro... i ordered it especially to do this comparison..
against the Hero 10... wow its crazy how far we have come.

Wow that’s Hero1 was actually not bad, especially for no stabilisation
But the 10 is 1000% better especially with low light and direct light

The Hero One was actually a film camera.
as you say the original was the GoPro Hero 35mm which as you say was a film camera. Then came the DIgital Hero, then the Digital Hero 3 & Hero 5 (3mp & 5mp) before the HD Hero he's using

I did a similar test video between the Hero 9 and the Hero Plus, and could see a difference, but not as dramatic as in your test between the Hero 1 & 10. At times the video from the Hero 1 looked like it from the 90's. Great testing Danny.

Actually it came out in 2005! and the original Go Pro released in 04 was a 35mm film camera

Yeah, I've still got my 10year old GoPro lying around somewhere and yeah, 1080p back then is nothing compared to 1080p today!
I'm pretty sure that Hero 1 had lens damage, the way light and blur scattered wasn't a side effect of an old sensor.
The hero2 had a mic jack does the 1
technically you didn't the "original" GoPro, the DIgital Hero was before the HD Hero you had. Also they did a 35mm film camera before going digital. Good comparison though & I'd still say the HD Hero footage is usable

Everyone keeps saying its go pros 10th anniversary and the hero 1 came out in 2010... But I bought my Hero 1 in 2005!!! I remember seeing the ad in a surf magazine and was like I want that! Also the original Go Pro was a 35mm Film camera that came out in 2004. The GoPro surfer boys comment made me laugh, Because we were Go Pros Original target audience!!
Correction... I looked into it more and the 2005 Gopro was the Go Pro Digital Hero and the 2010 was the Hero HD. @dannyblack you should get your hands on a Gopro digital hero and do another comparison!! that would be awesome!

I did some research for it, although it was a bit confusing because I did see that the first one came out in 2004.. but every time I looked into hero 1, it was 2010 lol. I would have loved to get my hands on the very first gopro product but they are hard to come by!. this hero 1 was hard to come by finding a working one lol
@@DannyBlack yeah go pro did make it confusing because the 2004 was the digital hero 1 and the 2010 was the gopro hero 1. I learned something new as well! Also if you find a digital hero 1, for some reason the plastic gopro used gets all sticky over the years.
