Encircle a navy? What? I really don't understand how anyone could think that makes sense. You can blockade a navy in a port logically, but you can't surround one on the open sea.
I mean, from the perspective of somebody who doesn't know for sure, getting somebody to delete their navy is surely a lucrative prospect

@Milo The Orange I'm sure they had more than 2 cruisers ;). In all seriousness, that was a blockade which serves a different purpose than a naval encirclement (find an example of that).

Ye, steamers are just fucking impossible to produce. I was 8th GP in my SP game and still couldn't get any fucking coal for my shipyards

@@madijeis4320 Perhaps. I always build steamer shipyards though. If I want to go as a naval power, I go for at least 1 fabric every 2 states
@@madijeis4320 Its because players rarely increase there metallurgy tech which is why its so hard to build stuff in multiplayer games just to much demand and not enough supply since no one takes the techs to increase it. in multiplayer I highly recommend taking metallurgy techs simply so mid to late game you dont have to wait fucking years as the number 1 GP simply for the resources to build a fucking boat.

Naval warfare is really interesting, I wish that mechanics better supported a guerrilla style or else made it of comparable importance to the army.
About the guerilla warfare, it can be employed and you may see it in the future ;)
I mean the navy was never quite as important as the army simply due to well armies win wars navy's support wars I know its not a absolute you need a navy to reach a island but still If your not GB or japan or fighting one of them then this saying holds true.

@@eternalasquith yeah by starving a enemy out so the army will be more effective or by preventing a enemy from reaching a strategic island not directly IE supporting ground troops by either reducing the amount of supply's there enemy's get or simply the amount of solders they have to fight.
WE all say planes cant win wars there just support but the navy is very similar to the air-force just more restricted in what it can do my point the navy cant do much more than the air-force can and we all agree planes dont win wars so why is the navy treated different?
If Pdx really have any willpower to develop Vic3, They should develop better commerce raiding and Naval blocade mechanics for ships tbh.
And maybe implementing Submarine and early CV for late game.
The Naval battle part is already decent enough for me.
