Hi Paul, Few months ago I bought myself same flugelhorn you have and I am learning every day since. You are my role model in playing brass instrument as I used to play guitar every day, but now I swapped it for flugel. I fell in love in Flugelhorn a long time ago but I wasn't confident enough to try it. When I was looking for information about flugel I bumped into your Adagio from concerto d'Aranjuez - JAZZ VERSION - Flugelhorn and I knew straight away that this is an instrument for me. On the other hand in this track I would like to ask you for advice or maybe like little workshop how you get the vibrato sound that is in minute 2:18? I would be very grateful if you could teach us . Would you be able to do online workshop for people that would like to learn, please? Thank you and kind regards Marcin🎺
First of all thank you for your comment, it makes me very happy. Unfortunately, I don't think I can teach you how I do my vibrato. I can just tell you that you need very good control of the air. I can also tell you that I do a slight jaw movement, which I think is an unconventional method.
hey, I am interested in buying the flugelhorn you're playing on in this video. how does such a cheap horn hold up a year later? how are the valves and such?
Hello, I also have a Thomann flugelhorn, I want to buy a KGU trim kit but I have doubts if the input of the Yamaha flugelhorns fit, the other question is about the spring, it is stuck to the base, no other model that I know of is So, I think the bottom cap would be impossible to assemble, what do you think? I would like to know what you recommend 🙏🏼

He sometimes plays 1st-line E with the third valve, which is necessary on some flugelhorns. Thankfully, on my Yamaha 8315, it isn't.

The 3FL have a deep cup. The 3BFL have a medium cup.
