- The next Monster Hunter is Monster Hunter Wilds. The trailer just dropped and I'd like to share my thoughts while reacting to this new Monster Hunter game.

Gonna watch this like it's 2015
6:05 Those Rampage quests in Rise weren't just for nothing. Really have to appreciate the innovation in tech they tried out in Rise to bring in multiple large monsters. You even see large amounts of small monsters. Reminds me a bit of how they had so many dinos in exo primal.
That new engine work was great! Glad they chose to innovate. Hopefully they keep with that mindset.

Exactly. Imagine Rampage's returning but you actually have to defend the hubtown in an openworld setting instead of in the same hallways. It would bring back that same chaotic feeling WorldIceborne had where it'd be way more common for monster invasions to occur compared to Rise.
The MH Wilds logo is keeping in tradition with all other generation-defining games in the series (the numbered titles and World). It has 6 dragon heads to signify the 6th generation, and each prior entry had a number of heads corresponding to the generation it started. The 1st had 1 head, the 2nd had 2, World had 5, etc.
A huge open world desert, a huge open world jungle, and a huge open world frozen tundra with each locale having its own dynamic weather events (such as, desert storms, heavy downpour in the jungle setting with floods, and avalanches in the frozen wastes.) Also the game needs 100+ large monsters, both old and completely new monster designs

I'm Theorizing rn that the monster in the logo is a reference to Quetzelcoatl cause it's associated with lightning and lightning features prominently in this trailer

Expanding on the biomes and interactivity from World.
The verticality given to hunters with WBs and Palamutes from Rise now in one Utah raptor sized package.
The weather effects and how they change the map and monsters, like at 7:21 where lightning hits the monsters spine is very reminiscent of Frontier.
This little trailer really has a lot packed into it and i love it.

6:05, i have a kinda theory but also kinda hope, that instead just of 'large monsters' where theres only a few on the map and are whole ass hunts, and 'small monsters' that are killed in a few swings, theres 'medium monsters', or something like that, where you would go on a hunt against these bear things, but you have to take out the pack, individually they're closer to small mons but together like they are they're tough and will take a proper hunt to kill.
I mean technically we have had areas that had more than 3 monsters at the time. The problem was it was the Rampages in Rise, which weren't very popular, even tho I enjoyed them fine, but I still get that they weren't implemented the best. But in an actual openworld I can see it being much more exciting than being stuck in the same hallways leading to Kamura.
Hell I can even imagine Rampage's returning, but being Way more chaotic and exciting this time if you have to protect the hubtown in a proper openworld environment!
I’ll always be a dual blades main for life, but for every new game I always beat the main story with a brand new weapon. This time I’m deciding between the Bow or Lance. We’ll see how they look as we get more information on this. Can’t wait for it to come out! 😊

I don't even have an idea for what I would want them to do with the Hunting Horn, I just hope it continues to be fun.
They brought back the Slinger and Scoutflies. I'm so happy. Hopefully this game remains moreso grounded, I don't want to see any Wirebugs no thank you.
The hunter face looks really good, but I agree something feels different about the art style, I cant point my finger on it and I cant tell if its good or bad (youtube bit rate thank you) but I saw some screenshots with the lighting and blue effect in the background and it looks SOOOO GOOD in these moments

My internet was bad when watching the trailer and when I saw the spikey monster I screamed
“LAGIACRAS MAYBE?!”
It could mean 6 different serpents or a new hydra elder dragon. Also the clutch claw is back, its on the trailer with the scoutflies lamp.

didnt catch it on my first watch but it looks like we gonna be able to bring two weapons along with us which is crazy
All the footage is likely gameplay, there are some instances of supperficial clipping as monsters gather together that wouldn't really happen in a specifically animated in-engine cutscene.
Also i think the dragons in the logo might not fully represent actual dragons, only Rise did that and at this point it's rightfully treated basically like it was a spinoff, instead i think the logo for Wilds is just six heads to show that it's gen 6.

It was late, I was tired, I'm still sorta sick lol.
Hopefully it’s Q 1 or 2 of 2025. Then the wait isn’t actually that long comparatively.
Looks like to me there’s a medium sized monster class now in between large and small.
Guessing that this will release in Spring or Summer 2025 at the latest. I wouldn't be surprised if it was released around the same window as Rise was.
For years I've been praying for an open desert MH map. Now all we need is sandboats.
As much as I'm excited for a new Monster Hunter game I don't know how I feel about it being open world (if it even is).
The open world games we've been getting lately with the exception of Elder Ring been kinda like empty lands of nothing, even TOTK can feel like that in a lot of areas.
I think I would prefer to fight and explore normal areas.
I'm hype but there just isn't enough info for me to go off of to really be doing backflips in my room. I also don't know if it's open world.

Hey Uno, it was a late night for me but glad I was surprised with this trailer.... deff curious to see how far they pushed it this game...wonder if there will be a weapon switch capability cause the hunter was able to carry a bowgun at least while riding the mount... loved the weather and curious if it will be affected based on Elders or just the biome we will be in... Not sure it will be just go out and hunt as much as you want like Wild Hearts but if it's a big open map that will be cool...anyway just glad to have seen something but it's going to be a looooonnnng wait for the next one but I would rather they take their time and make the release one of the best it can be over getting it next year..

The title has 6 dragons, and the beginning is a bio switch no cutscene it's a sandstorm from dessert to grassland funny I was hoping to get Kiren back and it looks like it with the way the lighting is colored and characteristics. Oh, I wonder if anyone is going to catch the pukei armor on the hunter?

I was up see it all on UA-cam yesterday I see this and was no it can not be and it's say capcom I was so happy and it's say monster hunter wilds 2025 I say to myself it's ok bc capcom Will make it so good
I was watching this with friends in VC and I genuinely thought it was a new FF game or smth cause of how the "dog" looks a lot like a Palamute. We were all freaking out when the "Capcom Presents" came up. Here's to waiting for news!

those graphics seems to be very glitchy.. clipping through ground a lot. and seems like it's worse that World/iceborne
I think uts not wo much the Artstyle and more rhe movement Animations. Its kinda dark Souls esk.

Let’s just hope beyond hope they move away from the Rise gameplay and multiplayer mechanics. Either way no day one purchase for me. I’m gonna have to be won back.

To my knowledge, I don’t believe the Monster Logo has had any relevance to the game’s main Elder Dragons. At least I don’t think.-
That being said, I’m definitely going to be maining Dual Blades all the way. Best weapon imo. ✊
(They better bring Spiral Slice/Slash back. If they don’t, I’m gonna cry. 😭 That’s literally the best move of the Dual Blades.)
