You DO know that new things are happening all the time in the music industry? The only Emo/Screamo bands i like is Brand New, Brand New and American Football are great. We now have grindcore breakcore, multimashing genres like Machine Girl. And there is always more hardcore/chaoscore/noisecore bands like Converge that are doing so much more than this guys ever did in life. Then there is HEALTH, Kero Kero Bonito, The Soft Moon, DIIV, Have a Nice Life, Death Grips, etc. There are so much new bands, or older bands with a new sound that was refined long before these guys even started to making music, like Cult of Luna. Yes, those bands are not from "one" scene, but music is always evolving and keep pushing forward. Even Brand New released Science Fiction in 2017 to critical acclaim. So yes, there is room for Emo/Screamo/Hardcore music still. But it has to be good. You think this is good just because we were kids and now you are feeling nostalgic a bit, just like i do. But honestly, the more i look into the music, the more garbage it is. This type of music died for a reason, it was sacrificed for the greater good. Any teen will have good memories of what they listened to and think back about it and say "Oh yeah, this was great, it really feels nostalgic." It doesn't matter if this was THAT scene, or it will be a new scene, or an older scene of music.

I remember they opened with this song at the last warped tour in Toronto. That was the moment my love for Silverstein was rekindled and I cant believe I missed out on so many great albums since the mid 2000s. I was busy listening to hip hop in high school 😅
I can't even believe that this video is still getting so many new views and that so many people hate it. This came out over a decade ago. If you are listening to it now like it's something new, then it is what it is, but even then I don't see how it can get so much hate. But I personally listened to it when it was brand new back in the day and it's still as good as it ever was. And I saw them in concert within the past year and the show was fucking amazing. 27 years old and still LOVING Silverstein. Good music is good music. Terrible audience is terrible audience. Haters can go listen to Escape the Fate and Brokencyde and whatever other horrendous shit they like nowadays.
Hey now, don't put Escape the Fate and Brokencyde in the same category. ETF's first 2 albums were good (although I prefer the first). After that though they did go downhill, but Brokencyde never even had a hill to go down, it's just... you can't even call it shit because that's offensive to actual shit. Anyway Silverstein is absolutely phenomenal on all their albums, but ETF has good stuff too. Now a band i would put on Brokencyde's level is Blood on the Dance Floor, they're baaaaaaad. That's just my opinion though.
Robert Martin Dude i'm 29 and i fucking love these guys! I don't care if others say grow up and don't like my music you only feel old if you act that way and decide to conform to others. And hell yeah bro right on !
I agree 100% basically the new gen kids listen to asking alexandria, escape the fate, etc.. and they hear about this band. Not knowing this band and underoath is literally the reason their shitty music is around but oh well im just glad this bands still kicking and of course norma jean also long live the jean
A further how about this, asking Alexandria is actually around a 15 year old band so is asking Alexandria. You also left from first to last out of your little elitist comment and they're as old as system of a down so fuck yourself.
20 years later and still brings a tear to my eye. Reminds me of old memories -- certain smells, places, people. Take me back to those simpler times!!

LYRICS:
Never again
I'll slit my throat with the knife I pulled out of my spine
Maybe when you find out that I'm dead
You'll realize what you did to me
And if my lungs still let me breathe
Would you be there for me?
If I can make myself believe
I'll give you back what you took away
No, I won't let it go
Douse myself in gasoline
So don't save me when you come into the fire
I'd rather die than have to see your smile
And if my lungs still let me breathe
Would you be there for me?
If I can make myself believe
I'll give you back what you took away
You made me swear
You made me swear
I, I can't sleep
Realize all these things that you took from me
Smash my heart (You made me swear)
Into dust (You made me swear)
Suffocate my mind (You made me swear)
Tear at me from inside (You made me swear)
Smash apart what you created
How can I ever stop you from crushing my soul?
It was, it was yours, yours to begin with
And if my lungs still let me breathe
Would you be there for me?
If I can make myself believe
I'll give you back what you took away

UA-cam suggested it to me and I thought "ill give this an open minded try"
Then I heard screaming and had to learn who listens to this garbage.
@@kendomyers Why you gotta let people know tho...If I didnt like a song, it's much easier to remove it from my watch history and forget about it, than to boast how much I dont like it in the comments
Robert Martin so on the same page, almost 27, and I can't believe the time machine that this music becomes for me.
