Kyle pitts needs to stay put. Y’all give up on people too quick . You got to let him get a season with penix . When he had Matt Ryan he was 1000 yards receiver

I'd rather them play aggressive on defense and risk giving up explosive plays than to give up a bunch of easy underneath passes. Soft coverage gives offenses too many opportunities to get in rhythm and creates too many 3rd and shorts. Bring the heat and force them to make plays

I would like the Falcons to kick the tires on Patrick Graham as a sleeper in this DC search. He has links to Bill Belichek and has a propensity for adaptability to his approach to coaching defense. He is not married to one schematic defense and is known for matching his scheme to in-house personnel available. Very good at in game adjustments and creates his defensive game plans weekly, based on the opponent and tendencies of opposing OC.

Would love it if they hired Wink, we haven’t never had an ultra aggressive DC like him. I think the team we have (will have) would fit his system well. I remember Rah talking about how he always stole from Baltimore defensive system and that came back up in my Brain when they said they were interviewing Wink. I hope they do it. The other candidates would be fine but more of the same that we have had. Wink is a whole different animal.

if you watched his previous stint with Michigan and how stout that defense was, you know Wink is the truth. We need him in Atlanta. Gonna probably have a lot of young players too besides Grady, Bates, and AJ. losing 4 corners and 2 DTs is gonna mean a heavy defensive draft and free agency.

Proper defense.....4-3 base with the RDE being able to also play OLB, which allows for multiple looks to confuse the offense. The front 4, along with the hybrid RDE includes a NT geared toward occupying 2 or more OL, thus creating 1-on-1s for the other 3 DL. You then blitz when you want rather than out of necessity and can, for the most part mix and match the back 7 to confront anything from ground and pound to a shotgun spread with an empty backfield. If you choose a 4-2-5 as a package , you can go with 3 safeties, 1 being a hybrid S-LB in the box or as a possible blitzer and deploy a pair of ball hawks deep to play center field, roll one way or the other to help a corner or some blend of the two. Mix coverages in the back and give the opponent more to think about. Make the QB hold it a half beat more and sacks increase.
Football doesn't change as much as people think. The Chiefs used 3 wides in Super Bowl1. The Dolphins used a hybrid edge in 1972. Sound principles work in any era. The primary issue is that the Falcons have the learning curve of a corpse when it comes to personnel acquisition. If you don't have the horses, you can't run even the best scheme successfully.

It's crazy that Cincy DC is even in consideration. Steve Wilks, Ryan Neilson (our DC 2 years ago) or try to get Brian Flores if he don't get HC job... those would be splash hires imo. The Michigan DC wouldn't be bad either. Knowing the Falcons, they probably go the route of the least popular guy

We should keep Pitts. He's going to play for his future. He will benefit from Penix at QB. Then we can franchise tag him. Then finally get 2 first round picks.

      @GodlyZOfficial 16 днів тому

@@MrDrsogood I got him Penciled for 800 and 7 only cause we have Drake, Mooney, Moore, and Bijan all getting touches next year. Which is a good season for a tight end. People forget, we dont beat Tampa both times without big games from Pitts. If he gets targeted, he can produce. Problem is his targets are down and thats not on him. Thats on the scheme and the QB. I bet with Penix at the helm next year, Pitts will have a big season similar to 21'. Hes 2 years removed from the injury and might finally have a QB that will throw to him. 1 offseason can make all the different.

  • @jackderaway

Jimmy Lake has no excuse. Our defense was half decent the year before. We regressed majorly under him. Which is always a horrible sign that most likely he tries to push his scheme without having the right players. Dan Quinn said it years ago. You gotta scheme to who you already have. Can’t try to force players into a scheme. Grady is useless in 34. Along with almost every other DL we have. As well as just about every edge rusher we have. We gotta get back to 43 and guess what that means we gotta start changing players toward more 43 type. Bc our LB are all gonna be under size. We need to draft one second round if we don’t double dip with DL

We need a couple decent signings maybe 3-4. We need to trade back so we end up with 3 picks within first two rounds. And we also need to hit on at least one player after that. And I mean really hit. We need the steal of the decade in round 4.
All that just to have a chance on defense. All that and we need obviously the scheme to come together and who knows what that’s gonna look like.

It does not require “greatness” to drive that lambo into a mud hole. You are wasting Kyle Pitts trying to block and be the 4th option behind Ray Ray. We ain’t talking about Hayden Hurst. We are talking about a dude that can take over a game. If they don’t want to use him, some offensive mind will use him right and people will laugh at Atlanta again for trading that lambo away for a third round pick that will probably be used in a trade up lmao.

You know what went wrong in Cincinnati Jarvis. Come on man! The QB got paid and now the receivers want to get paid. As a result the Bengals neglected the defense, especially after losing Jessie Bates and then DJ Reader. My preferred choice is Dennis Allen but it doesn't look like he is on the Falcons radar. Let's be honest they want familiarity instead of new ideas. Hire the wrong guy and Morris will be fired at some point during the season.

K.Pitts is a beast before Brock Bowers was second only to Mike Ditka in yards in rookie season it’s a classic case of Great Player Wrong System we need to trade him for both parties the falcons get draft capital and K.P gets a fresh start and he will ball out 🏈

  • @jackderaway

I wanted Neilson as HC if we didn’t get BB. And I def wanted him to carry over bc I didn’t want to shake up an already good defense. Defense had a lot to do with Kirk struggling. When you feel pressure to score 4 TDs a game you start to play like Brett Favre… old Brett Favre obviously when he led league in picks.

  • @kanyalewis3506

We have 5 draft picks. 2 are in the 7th. Trade Pitts and get something back for him. And trade Allgier too. It’s not that they’re bad. It’s the fact you got limited cap and picks, you need to subtract in order to add bodies at positions of need. You have a RB1, TE ain’t important in this offense. Go get you defensive edge help in the first two rounds. Get you a RB and TE later if you must.

Wait who said Pitts didn't want to be great? Did he or a insider because it definitely sounded like an biased opinion thrown out like its factual. Like I've mentioned on other platforms, fans are mad because he was selected 8th overall in that draft over others. Soon as he had a rookie slump and injuries that's when the hate came in. So it's okay for the team to draft Bijan over Carter but Pitts over everyone else is ludicrous 😑... this fan base and organization makes no sense to me

      2) No one was mad after his rookie year, it’s the other 3 years
      3) Pitts disappears in 75% of games
      4) He quits on routes REGULARLY
      5) His comments himself like “I just work here” insinuate he doesn’t want to be great
