I absolutely love the details that you out into this video. My husband can follow this step by step and create this. He is not a plumber but can do just about anything. I am going to watch your other nail salon dust collector too to see which one will work for me. Thank you Talia. PS. Your brother is cute just like you. You are fortunate to have family living in town with you. ❤️
You have such a great family!New system looks great, and I am loving the look of your new armrest! I now have that added to my wish list for when I get a new desk..lol
I'm getting emotional watching this it's the musicccc ...and seeeing you'll come together amd so helpful i loveeee this !!! And the end result too I like our narrator lmbo perfect explanation girllll lol
Is is so cool! This is a great video. I also am very thankful to have married into a family that wouldn't think twice to helping me out when I need something.
It looks awesome Talia! I bit the bullet and got the Nova Flair but I have clients hour after hour for 9-10 hours four days a week. I am LOVING my new table. Thank you again!!
I am still in ✨ awe ✨ of your set-up! I haven’t been active in nails since 2015 and just started again recently. I remember splurging on a cheaply made desk with a built-in dust collector. We’re going to DIY a desk this time. Thank-you for the videos 🌟 💫 💖
Probably one of my favourite videos to date! I love that you are so thorough with the information about every little thing! For some reason I feel like the arm rest should be the other way around but I just checked the website and thats the way they have it. I just feel like where it angles down a little bit would favor the clients elbow/forearm!
You and my mom think the same way! She even said that to me when she came in last. BUT if it did, then my clients would dangle and have no support when I'm working. I tried dangling them over the end a bit and they were too floppy for me, so I back them up a bit so they are resting on that slop and it works fantastic!! BUT I do think it might support their wrists better the other way. Maybe I will swap it and see!
Hey also - for your client with carpal tunnel..I can’t rave enough about COLD LASER therapy! In 2 treatments it cured the locking in my fingers, in 6 treatments my carpal tunnel went away
Fantastic cutting down on some of the sound. Some people with bad backs can't have their hands up higher then their waist as it pulls on their neck and back. Thus making for a painful experience. The lower the hand rest the better. One idea for some people would be to cut holes and have the poles through the table resting on pre-screw blocks of wood on the underside of the desk. That makes for a lower and more comfortable hand rest, resting right on the table with no raising it higher then the desk. Unless you have a computer chair that you can raise for the shorter clients to make it more comfortable for them. One woman's husband did her desk with a built under exhaust fan with a bag attached and works like your's does. Her husband did her's in 2017.
Love it i might do the same cuz that dust is crazzy i dont wear a mask so this will work thanks !!😍😍😘😘😘 oh i do wanna say my uv/led lights i straped them under my desk so my laddies can now just slid there hands in almost like saying there puting it on there lap i love it cuz it gives us more space on my desk
Hey quick idea..... If you want the top to be flush just counter sink the top of it about an eighth of an inch and then you won't have a lip to try and brush your dust over! I love this idea though!!!!!
So I have a question about your original vacuum system in drill.... I’m seriously thinking about purchasing one... do you have to remove the slip guard that’s over drill each time to change bits?
Hey a couple of questions I’m looking at doing this for my wife. Tell me more about how to hard wire the vacuum into the switch. Also how are you turning on the vacuum with your phone? Also, an idea for your lip of the floor drain you used, I bought my wife some little plastic Matt’s at IKEA that she uses like a place matt. Cut a 4” hole in one of them and put it over yours and it would be flush just like you really wanted it. Plus it protects your desk from paint and the drill.
you just plug the vacuum into the switch, download the app and pair it. It explains everything in the instructions on the plug in. Thanks for the tips :)
Ive been wanting something like this because dust goes EVERYWHERE. My husband and his dad just helped me build a nailpolish rack this weekend and I don't want to file my nails there because it'll be a pain to clean all of that. I'm gonna start filing my nails in the garage for now so I don't have to worry about the dust and it'll just blow away but once I get my license and start doing clients I will definitely need this! Also is this vacuum strong enough to suck up acrylic. I don't like using gel because all the dust flies up into the air so I stick to acrylic
This is awesome! Do u think I could do this w a marble or granite top? Cuz I’m debating on whether to get a granite top without a vent or one w a vent, but I know it won’t be strong enough, so I’m driving myself crazy rn lol..
That looks awesome Talia. I'm in a rental so unfortunately no holes are allowed. But I'm thinking I can try a combination of that and my Erica. I find the vacuum in the Erica is just now quite strong enough. Do you have a how to video on the old system ❤️❤️
How did it do with the fumes from the monomer? Did it reduce that? I love doing nails but I developed asthma and the monomer makes it worse. So I'm hoping adding MORE ventilation will help
I've seen desk top dust collector made by Valentino Beauty Pure, checked them out. It's not extremely expensive and are known for the good suction and low noise
Mary Gold I’ve honestly not heard good things about them. I tried one years ago and it would be good for acrylic because it’s heavier, but for gel it wasn’t good. They might be better now, but I’m find with this setup. I researched and looked into MANY systems before going this route, ultimately this worked for my needs 😊
I can't remember if it was in this video that you talked about using proper form placement rather than e filling under nail. Who was it you learnt from?? 💖💖
Awesome ideas! I have the Valentine desk top version, I don't like it, I'd rather have a built in dust collection set up, because my table is a small classroom nail table, & my room is only 8 ×10 there is no extra space for a bigger table,or even a pedicure set up! I still GET dust everywhere, the Valentine is loud, & the only dust it collects is of I file directly on top of it! I wish I could afford to make the one u used previously! Thanks luv your space!
I have the valentino desk top version and I have sunk it into my nail desk. I have a video on my channel how I did this if you are interested. Its so much better now and even works better to collect the dust.
Bels Gels I’m definitely going to take a look. I REALLY want an in desk extraction system but I can’t do a Talia’s homemade which would have been great due to my space. I have the Valentino desk top and it’s just not doing the job😔
could you explain the timmel system more please? im very interested in that and havent been able to find any info been looking since i first seen ur video like a year ago
great video ❤.. have a question? I want to be an entrepreneur to have a real estate license but I want to do nails on side. and to have a nails business at home on side for fun love doing nails would you think have time to do that as a realtor.and do a nail tech make good money ?
Talia, One thing you could try on the vacuum is to use a variable speed control since it's essentially a fan you can slow it down which would create less suction and noise at the desk. This may not be the best option but due to the small opening and large volume of air it is definitely something that could help. Here is a link to one on amazon, there are many different ones and I have not used this one but it is capable of handling the load. www.amazon.com/TruePower-123-Variable-Router-Controller/dp/B00YEGVC6W/ref=sr_1_15?ie=UTF8&qid=1537772049&sr=8-15&keywords=variable+speed+controller
When we were looking for supplies, they didn't have the 1 1/2" PVC pipping we needed. They only had 2" PVC. So we went with ABS piping so we could get 1 1/2" :)
This is by far one of the best homemade systems I have seen . I really like it .
I don’t know anything about nails really but I am in awe. Like its so good when you are serious about what you do! Nice!
I absolutely love the details that you out into this video. My husband can follow this step by step and create this. He is not a plumber but can do just about anything. I am going to watch your other nail salon dust collector too to see which one will work for me. Thank you Talia. PS. Your brother is cute just like you. This is AMAZING! You are so blessed to have such a handy and willing family!
You have such a great family!New system looks great, and I am loving the look of your new armrest! I now have that added to my wish list for when I get a new desk..lol

Great idea, I unfortunately have already bought a desk that came with a built in vac system..what a money saver tis idea would have been. Great video❤

INVEST IN A NOVA FLAIR DUST EXTRACTION MADE IN GERMANY
Why didn't you get the pipes White??????
When we were looking for supplies, they didn't have the 1 1/2" PVC pipping we needed. They only had 2" PVC. So we went with ABS piping so we could get 1 1/2" :)
4000RPM Nail Dust Collector Desktop Built Suction Vacuum Fan Cleaner Machine US
That's way to much for a homemade system. You could have bought a really nice system for 230
