Movies aren’t making as much money because regular people like myself can’t afford to go see movies. I can barely afford my apartment. Barbie was a blockbuster summer event with tons of marketing.

Look at all recreational activities and they have all adapted to meet consumers at home since covid. Inflation maybe accounts for 1% of why people don’t go
I agree, and personally I wait until it streams (unless I really want to watch it) because I don’t find it worth the time or money to sit through a movie I might not like. Also, my AMC is always noisy because people just don’t know how to see a movie respectfully anymore or bring their bad kids. I’d rather watch it in my quiet home on my comfortable couch.

I try to go once a month but if I time it right I can fit two trips on half price movie day and split snack costs ($7-$8 ticket and I think popcorn is 17-20 bucks? Bring your own soda or water from home) love the movies but it has been getting out of hand

Im from LA & have a successful career and even i think $20 is high for a movie when $12 was pretty much always the average price for most of my life. Cody’s take on that not being expensive is actually insane.
i work at an independent movie theatre on the east coast in canada and at least the main take away i find from our guest is that people truly just cannot afford the movies anymore. even on cheap night people have no interest in coming in. and a lot of the movies coming out just aren’t making people want to go. there’s too many sequels and prequels and redos that are kinda just garbage with terrible CGI and effects.

I wasn't talking about using a sponge or leech's plastic onto your tupperware container I was meaning it literally breaks down into tiny pieces of plastic every time you use it.

I pay over $20/mo for my AMC A-list membership to see unlimited movies, and I don’t even think that’s reasonable for most people. However you might as well get that membership if individual tickets are a ridiculous $20.
