    I had two main additional thoughts. One, the documentary didn't delve much into the experiences of the mothers. Don't get me wrong, the kids had a shit time, but these women were assaulted and violated and they mention it only briefly. Second, you didn't point out that they were all within a small area, so you have to forever worry about inbreeding lol.

    • @permiesanders
      @permiesanders 2 роки тому +720

      bro literally annoyed me so much, the mothers barely spoke, i think the focus was too much on the children’s experience, which was obviously horrific. but i wanted to hear the mothers talk about how they felt when they realised and dealing with the fact that both the law and some people don’t see it as assault.

      @@josemacias6207 assault is defined and cited by wikipedia as "the act of inflicting physical harm or unwanted physical contact upon a person or, in some specific legal definitions, a threat or attempt to commit such an action". in this case, assault _most closely_ aligns with the latter definition (unwanted physical contact).
      according to google, to violate [someone or something] is to "1. fail to respect (someone's peace, privacy, or rights); 2. treat (something sacred) with irreverence or disrespect; 3. rape or sexually assault (someone)." any of these could apply honestly.

    The part in this docu that got me so fucking pissed off was the fact that these people are forced to look for their siblings. Even after he had already violated their mother's and forced them through a procedure they did not consent to, he is now forcing these people to look over their shoulders for the rest of their lives. They all live in the same vicinity and because they're at something crazy like 30+ (and counting) siblings they need to know if they might be dating someone they're related to, god forbid it's a spouse and you have biological kids. What you should’ve really drove home was that a lot of the dads had submitted their samples that were supposed to be used, but the doctor still used his own. Dr. Klein was never supposed to use his sample in anybody. They had donor samples that were meant to be used, but the doctor just threw them out, and used his own. It’s so disgusting. Like he tries to say that he just wanted to help the women, but that’s bullshit because the women’s husbands had given perfectly good samples that were supposed to be used. I would be devastated if I was one of these dad’s, and I find out that the doctor had just thrown my shit away, and put his own in. That guy is a freak man, and I can’t believe that what he did isn’t considered illegal. Also, what’s disgusting is that he did this dozens, and dozens, and dozens of times in a very small vicinity, so a lot of these people in this town are related, and don’t know it. You could’ve married your brother. The odds that you hooked up with a sibling is pretty high. Hopefully nobody had kids together that were siblings, because it’s disgusting, and also can lead to horrible birth defects, and medical issues for the child. 🤮

I’m going to law school right now and we’re constantly having classes and sessions on mental health awareness and how we need to consider talking to mental health professionals due to the nature of the job/client confidentiality and the stress. I wonder if it’s because there was a shakeup a few years ago that caused it. It seems the in medical field there’s a lot of “fear of being seen as a failure” and seeking mental health help is in that category. Also, I know a few people who are in the medical field and I know the cultures they came from don’t have a high opinion of therapy. I wonder if that contributes too.

We have no idea if SHE put out an ad looking for a baby daddy, or if HE had an ad out..... but she has said things like "no worries he has done this before", "he is a smart man, good genes, he's a doctor!" - SO IT'S OKEY THEN.
    Kid, and the internet, is now syncing up around being old enough to watch youtubers talk about DNA kits, and understand there is an issue - the issue being NO explanation to who and where bio dad is. This amazing human is also constantly broke, friend has had enough and told her to start using food banks, and did they actually go as far as to say, "call the bio dad...?" - I know they wanted to say it! Literally not my friends problem that their sister's is part of some Noah's ark cult experiment. Bio dad is likely not American - BUT - kid and mother ARE blond and blue eyed.
