- Far-right protesters have clashed with police in London - following a counter demonstration against a pro-Palestinian march.
The Metropolitan Police said that more than 80 people had been arrested in Pimlico, central London, "to prevent a breach of the peace".

Can I be British if I pay my taxes and am law-abiding but I am not Anglo-Saxon? Actually, there were hundreds of people who attended the protest who's grand parents fought in the war. Even great great grandchildren came. And they are all very proud of it. As this march is protesting for peace the very day peace was initiated.

Look up the meaning of armistice day.
There's no such thing as armistice weekend. Besides they chose the date as the 11th because it marks the end of the war not the beginning. We are meant to remember the futility and cost of war and remind ourselves as a society and a species to avoid it at all costs so nobody has to repeat the horrific suffering so many have experienced before. And that the only way to prevent war is to tolerate one and other and avoid letting hatred become a political motive. Somehow many have fallen into the habit of believing that all it amounts to is wearing a poppy for a couple of weeks and keeping silent for two minutes, when in reality it should be a time to remind ourselves what history has taught us and actively push for peace throught the world so no one has to drown in mud, be blown apart or ripped to pieces by bullets again.
Why should it be a problem to celebrate Armistice Day in the UK??

Afraid to say that in the first world war they died for pretty much nothing and their country "England" put very little value on their lives.
