Natashas joyful and pleasant Spirt is offensive to some people. Darkness can’t be in the same place as light. She’s definitely “salt” and “light” in our eyes. Made them 2-days ago and I can't believe such simple ingredients can render such delicious potatoes. It's so simple! I was thinking about adding a tsp. of garlic powder to the mix next time. They're so creamy on the inside! They burst in your mouth. Thanks so much Natasha!
I just tried this recipe. They are perfect. I used the small red potatoes since that's what I had. I added a bit of garlic powder. The butter as she says makes all this difference. I did mine for 20 mins flip and 20 minutes. The best roast potatoes I have ever made. This recipe is simple and easy. And do dry your potatoes. Thank you for this recipe.

I've never tried this but I'm gonna try to microwave them tomorrow and see how it turns out. Hopefully they'll be much better than reheated french fries LOL!

I love these and have been making them like this for years. It I’m curious - I always wait and salt them after baking as I’ve found the salt draws out too much water and makes them soggy. I feel I get better results salting after. Anyone else have any thoughts on this? Delicious though!

I rarely read the comments but caught the first one as I scrolled down to see the recipe. I can't believe that people said they didn't like her personality and to "tone it down". First off, these stick in the muds don't speak for all of us. Second they get a free recipe with how to prep and cook. Seeing as how they don't pay her for it they ought to be thankful that they get her stuff at all. And lastly I wish my life was so awful that I could spend all my waking hours looking for nice people to spread my dark, dismal existence on. Oh wait! No I don't! Why on earth would I want to be a miserable waste of everybody's time??? Keep it up Natasha, you have great recipes and a great nutty personality that I think MOST people find refreshing!
Looks delicious..I put olive oil and zesty italian dressing on them mix and spread out on pan and bake..my kids always loved them sprinkled with parmesean....we called them zesty potatoes. 😀
Hi Natasha, thanks for this recipe. I love roast potatoes which are meltingly soft on the inside. My late father was a chef and would actually place the potatoes in the same roasting pan as the meat/chicken once it was cooked halfway through. Basting the potatoes with the juices from the meat made the potatoes so delicious! The potatoes seemed to absorb it but still crisped up on the outside. I find that using a dark roasting pan helps to brown the potatoes. Sometimes I crave roast potatoes but I don't want to do a whole roast. I think your method is great but as I can't have butter due to a dairy intolerance, I wondered if using goose fat instead would create the same meltingly soft effect or not? I hope it would give it a nice flavour too. Too often nowadays, roast potatoes tend to be bland or hard on the inside. I live in the UK where everyone seems to love using Maris Piper potatoes when making roasties but I find that unless you're going to eat them as soon as they come out of the oven (which I don't advise), the outside becomes too hard. I like the outside of the potato to be fairly crispy but not rock hard! (Yes, that was a slight exaggeration!). I think my parents used white potatoes but I might try a floury potato like King Edwards to see if that works or if that too becomes too hard on the outside very quickly. Do you find that Yukon Gold potatoes are better than Russet potatoes when making roast potatoes?

I rarely read the comments but caught the first one as I scrolled down to see the recipe. I can't believe that people said they didn't like her personality and to "tone it down". First off, these stick in the muds don't speak for all of us. Second they get a free recipe with how to prep and cook. Seeing as how they don't pay her for it they ought to be thankful that they get her stuff at all. And lastly I wish my life was so awful that I could spend all my waking hours looking for nice people to spread my dark, dismal existence on. Oh wait! No I don't! Why on earth would I want to be a miserable waste of everybody's time??? Keep it up Natasha, you have great recipes and a great nutty personality that I think MOST people find refreshing!

Looks delicious..I put olive oil and zesty italian dressing on them mix and spread out on pan and bake..my kids always loved them sprinkled with parmesean....we called them zesty potatoes. 😀

Hi Natasha, thanks for this recipe. I love roast potatoes which are meltingly soft on the inside. My late father was a chef and would actually place the potatoes in the same roasting pan as the meat/chicken once it was cooked halfway through. Basting the potatoes with the juices from the meat made the potatoes so delicious! The potatoes seemed to absorb it but still crisped up on the outside. I find that using a dark roasting pan helps to brown the potatoes.
Sometimes I crave roast potatoes but I don't want to do a whole roast. I think your method is great but as I can't have butter due to a dairy intolerance, I wondered if using goose fat instead would create the same meltingly soft effect or not? I hope it would give it a nice flavour too. Too often nowadays, roast potatoes tend to be bland or hard on the inside.
I live in the UK where everyone seems to love using Maris Piper potatoes when making roasties but I find that unless you're going to eat them as soon as they come out of the oven (which I don't advise), the outside becomes too hard. I like the outside of the potato to be fairly crispy but not rock hard! (Yes, that was a slight exaggeration!).
I think my parents used white potatoes but I might try a floury potato like King Edwards to see if that works or if that too becomes too hard on the outside very quickly. Do you find that Yukon Gold potatoes are better than Russet potatoes when making roast potatoes?
