    Method 4: use luminosity masks to exactly merge those bracketed shots. That way you will get rid of this uneven lighting across the walls. In my eyes THAT would be a 10/10 photo.

    Excellent tutorial on getting max dynamic range with this camera! I am new to 360 cameras for making Real Estate Virtual Tours for our listings and want to make sure of your workflow. I have the Adobe Photography Plan and noted you use the Adobe RAW module in Photoshop - but don't you also have to first use the Theta Stitcher in Lightroom, then export those files over to Photoshop for the dynamic range tweaks? Also do you have any opinion of the free VT software Marzipano? I do not want to use Zillows free 360 VT software.

    Amazing information mate, I actually started to think about doing virtual tours for money, but in Brisbane real estate agents are very 'old school' and hard to engage in this! I will also try the bracketing thing. Quick question: my camera can shoot in raw (DNG files) but I have to ask - what is the benefit of it? how exactly technically does it give you better dynamic range to work with?

    • @BenClaremont

    I've been having an issue in a few pictures: when I merge the bracketed panoramas in an HDR a small part of the photo gets cropped on the side so that when I turn it into a 360 in photoshop the resulting image looks as if badly stitched. I thought it could be Camera Raw's IA that crops out small details as it cannot see them in the really low exposure ones, but not sure. What's your take? Any tips in how to get around it?

    I've seen this video many times and keep wondering...in the 3 image bracketing example, it looks like you're merging the dual fisheye images. In the 9 bracket merge, it looks like you're merging the equirectangular images. Does it matter which type of images you merge? It's obviously easier if you merge the dual fisheyes. Then you only have to stitch once. Otherwise you have to stitch each one first. Thanks..

    I know you say it was a difficult lighting condition, but the final result looks pretty bad in terms of white balance. I know you were showing just a quick and easy edit, but if that's all you are doing, Photoshop is overkill if you don't use some of their more advanced tools to address some of the color casts on the walls and ceiling. The room has warm lighting from the lamps yet it's very cool due to the natural light. I would say the room should be made to look a bit warmer. When shooting, one thing you could also try is shooting a properly exposed shot with the windows closed to see how the room looks with one color of light and see if you could blend the luminosity of the window light.

    Hey Ben, I am using the trick you did by manually taking 3-5 exposures in RAW mode and stitching them after. I am getting an error saying that my pictures are not a certain size when I try to stitch the merged photo... I thought it was one of my dual fisheyes that was causing the problem, but I was able to stitch all f them perfectly fine. It was only encountered when I tried stitching the merged HDR photo. Please Let me know of as soon as you can.

    Hi Ben, after you do the HDR merge in photoshop, how do you get the Ricoh stitcher plugin to work? I made sure ‘align images’ is unchecked but when I try to use the stitcher plugin I get an error message saying "no compatible dng file." Is there a fix for that?

    The one thing I hate about HDR is that the walls and ceiling looks like it's covered with splotchy mold. 7:25

    • @BenClaremont
      @BenClaremont  4 роки тому +1

      That’s my fault for over saturating.. HDR doesn’t affect colour that much, it’s more brightness and darkness

    • @warrenkawamoto8660
      @warrenkawamoto8660 4 роки тому

      @@BenClaremont No, its not your fault. It"s not really a color problem either, it's a value problem. What used to be one smooth, gradation (a plain white wall or ceiling) is now a very uneven, splotchy one. It's inherent in all HDR.

    Most cameras still don't use the base ISO. The #1 tip is, force the camera to its base ISO. Then bracket with base ISO for every image. Cameras like the One X, wont do this unless you force the ISO to its base #.

    Hi Ben. I'm shooting with an Insta 360 One X. When I bring my 360 images into Photoshop they appear as 2 round images instead of the pano view like yours. Is this due to a setting on the camera or a setting in photoshop? How can I correct this?

    • @NativesunrealtyJacksonville
      @NativesunrealtyJacksonville 4 роки тому +1

      OK, I found that if I bring in the 3060 image into the Insta360 Studio and then save it I can open it in Photoshop as a pano. Wish there was a way to skip that step so if you are aware of a way to open it directly into Photoshop please share. Thanks!

    Mr. Ben. Hi I know this video has been out quite a while, but I’m hoping you have a solution for issues when shooting Bracketed DNG using Insta360 OneX2. The issue I keep getting is stacking raw files creates very noticeable seam lines throughout the image. Each raw DNG has shows major chromatic errors or a distinct lines around all the stitch lines. When insta 360 Studio 2022 merges the dng it’s awful. If I shoot the same stacked HDR using JPG the stitching eliminates this error but then I loose the edit capability as it’s a baked image. So.. have you ran across this, and if so any suggestions for a HDR bracketed DNG workflow? Thanks.

    • @BenClaremont
      @BenClaremont  2 роки тому +1

      Hi Rick, One X2 shots don’t need to be merged manually since it does it automatically in the stitching software. Safe yourself time and hassle 😉
