- What is the difference between frontend and backend development? Find out here: careerfoundry....
In this video, CareerFoundry co-founder and ex-web developer Martin Ramsin explains the difference between frontend and backend development.
First, learn all about the frontend - the part of the website that the user sees and interacts with directly. Learn about some of the most crucial frontend languages and technologies.
Next we'll take a look at the backend - the part of the website that the user doesn't see. The backend is responsible for ensuring that everything on the frontend works as it should. Learn how it does this and what technologies are involved.
We'll also explore the day-to-day tasks of the frontend and backend developer in turn, giving you a better idea of which you might prefer.
If you are new to the world of web development, this is the ideal introduction to frontend and backend. This video is brought to you by CareerFoundry, provider of mentored online courses in Web Development, UX Design and UI Design. Learn more on our blog or discover our courses:

Finally a really clear and comprehensive explanation. Thank you!
A pleasure!
Very clear, straight to the point from the first minute, no marketing BS. I recommend for beginners. Thanks a lot! G
I watched, i turned it off, and continued my research. I remembered i forgot to like your video. I've returned, I've liked. You deserve it. Thank you
Thank god...! I found this video, nowhere else I could grasp it. You've explained the tough concepts exceptionally well. Thank you for posting...!
This is a good overview from the perspective of a business owner, think I'll start with hiring a full stack developer then once we grow enough I'll a front end guy & a back end guy who can specialize in each thing & the full stack guy can bridge the knowledge gap & hopefully that'll be an effective team. Though I gotta make sure to pay them well so they dont quit & I'm left with no clue on how the system works.
I love the way he explained. His english is easy to understand. Thanks for the explaination
Glad it was helpful! Thanks Muhammad!

Thanks, came out out highschool 3 years ago and they didn't teach us anything useful we can use these days.
I'm trying to get back to the field again. Luckily in my country my school is enough for everything but my knowledge isn't great.
I get it. Front end, order a a pornstar martini at the bar. Back end, server goes to back, gets the ingredients makes the drink. They deliver the cocktail to the person that ordered. Front end, receives drink and continues on
Thank you so much bro. Sending virtual hugs. Worked like a charm ;-)
Very informative!

perfect man u did a good job.
Clearly explained! Thanks 😊
Amazing tutorial many thanks 🙏
I disagree with the analogy that the frontend is the client and the backend is the server. The client in web development is mostlikly a browser, which communicates with the frontend.. Either its rendered on the server (frontend) or by the client (browser). If you disagree please let me know why.
Yeah very clear explanation indeed. thanks
Thank you for the clear and easy explanation!

This video answered my questions, thank you so much.
You're welcome, always happy to help!
If a Frontend developer does what we can see and interact(?) with, then what does a UI designer do?
The actual visuals like marking up where everything goes and and any pics and color schemes

Mashallah ! And simple explanation
WOW
!
amazing, thanks
How good do I have to be at the front end before I can move on to the back end? E.g I have gone through html and CSS on free code camp, except the projects. I likely can build something simple myself, but if I am asked to build something specific, I would struggle.
Font-end is not my thing, I want to focus on back end.
wow thank you ❤️
You're welcome, Joanna!
I have a question if someone here can answer. How many Frontend developers you need in a team if u have 5 Backend developers? My team currently function with 2 Frontend, and 5 Backend developers. We are building a web application. All are senior developers btw, but one frontend developer is mid to senior range. I cannot find answer to this question anywhere. Thanks!
CSS and HTML are not programming languages, only JavaScript is.
I want to become a full stack developer help me out for the path 🧐🙌
Trust me, if you don't want to be looked down upon by backend developers and be treated as 2nd tier developers in a company, don't work as a frontend developer!!!
Bro you have a corn on your shirt
You need to be more expressive.
#Emmanuel, & #Danny. 🧸🕎✝️☪️🍪
Thank you!
Thanks, glad you enjoyed it!
