    Quincy just ran a 1:17.19 600m. I’d say that confirms this was a warmup

      @MalachiBurtonnyou’re wrong.
      most top athletes run races for training purposes. so yes, this was jogging for him. an 800 at any pace is gonna hurt a 400 runner

    I was State 400 meter runner in High School. I ran 100, 200 and ran cross country and Good in All but 400 was my race. I ran XCountry for endurance. My Coach put me in 1600meter relay just like Quincy but 800 was NOT the RACE for me even thought I ran a Good Time for my leg.

    @1:31 yes, he didn't step inside and the guy gave him a white flag... pointless having rules and referees if they are not going to do their jobs.

      Not nitipcking.. watching the race to the end.. The snub was obvious.. and had nothing to due with lungs on fire. Been coaching track a long time and would let any athlete know that's not the way to handle post race.. Always acknowledge competitors win or lose.

      Why ain't most guys who never break 44 not running the 8? That's too many triple negatives...aka, if you can't break 44, instead of spending hours in the gym for diminishing returns, build up some cardio and be even more competitive in the 8.

    There's a distinction between being an Olympic gold medalist from heats in a relay and being an Olympic champion. He's an amazing talent, especially for his age, but I wouldn't even call a finals team runner an Olympic champion, because the team won, not the individual. His teammates in HS are awesome too. I just wish the chip on his shoulder was smaller.

    no need to go chasing records. Just run..look what happened to the Jamaican women vs what happened to Sydney ...different strategy....Sydney keeps breaking them because she's not chasing them every race. this guy, under the right coaching could become an incredible, incredible record sprinter. He'll certainly drop down to 200m and 100m ...bet
