@MalachiBurtonnyou’re wrong. most top athletes run races for training purposes. so yes, this was jogging for him. an 800 at any pace is gonna hurt a 400 runner
I was State 400 meter runner in High School. I ran 100, 200 and ran cross country and Good in All but 400 was my race. I ran XCountry for endurance. My Coach put me in 1600meter relay just like Quincy but 800 was NOT the RACE for me even thought I ran a Good Time for my leg.
@@xcbaby123 there is nothing wrong with a good ole fashion nitpick every once and again. Quincy got to know at his young age here today gone tomorrow. u gotta intentionally be a good sport at all times or the lord and me will judge u accordingly sugg
Not nitipcking.. watching the race to the end.. The snub was obvious.. and had nothing to due with lungs on fire. Been coaching track a long time and would let any athlete know that's not the way to handle post race.. Always acknowledge competitors win or lose.
Why ain't most guys who never break 44 not running the 8? That's too many triple negatives...aka, if you can't break 44, instead of spending hours in the gym for diminishing returns, build up some cardio and be even more competitive in the 8.
There's a distinction between being an Olympic gold medalist from heats in a relay and being an Olympic champion. He's an amazing talent, especially for his age, but I wouldn't even call a finals team runner an Olympic champion, because the team won, not the individual. His teammates in HS are awesome too. I just wish the chip on his shoulder was smaller.
no need to go chasing records. Just run..look what happened to the Jamaican women vs what happened to Sydney ...different strategy....Sydney keeps breaking them because she's not chasing them every race. this guy, under the right coaching could become an incredible, incredible record sprinter. He'll certainly drop down to 200m and 100m ...bet
Quincy just ran a 1:17.19 600m. I’d say that confirms this was a warmup
@@carsongambaro This definitely answers all questions.
Gotta get back in competition shape..he will be good...
1:17 600m today, I think he is back
Before anyone goes nuts its called not burning out. Dude jogged a 2:01 800 as a warm up. Sheesh
bro that make no sense 😂😂, you don’t jog races to not burn out and he literally was trying you can look by how bad is form was
Not jogging, he just wasn’t in shape
@MalachiBurtonnyou’re wrong.

@MalachiBurtonn yea bro just went 1:17 in the 600. stop commenting about track
@MalachiBurtonnhe had an open 6 after, i’d say it was a warm up since he ran 1:17
5:10 left bro hanging
That's dirty
i noticed that.
Painful 😭
Yeah that was messed up.
Love this mid distance running for Quincy. Great presentations for outdoor sprints!
Too early. Got to save those legs. World Champs is 9 months away.
just pray that he stays healthy.
“9 months”
Indoor world champs are in march, but I agree definitely too early in the season to have him running.
The thing is he's still a high school student. He's gonna have to complete his season there before he can even think about Nationals or Worlds
getting in shape. Do not get caught up in the hype. Coming off long season.
Too good to acknowledge competitor after running 2:01
Probably sucking wind too hard to acknowledge anything.

@1:31 yes, he didn't step inside and the guy gave him a white flag... pointless having rules and referees if they are not going to do their jobs.
Didn't shake teammates hand at end is worst thing about this video. Lack of fitness is fine, lack of sportsmanship is not cool
He did shake his hand
You watching the race or just the end to nitpick him? Kid was gassed after his first indoor race. His lungs were probably on fire
Are you ok?

Ok he's doing a workout 2.01 800 then 1.17 600m wow this kid is a monster next Juantorena.
its calm bro just let em warm up
Quincy Wilson was jogging-not really trying to
Quincy didn't take his "juice"?
Looks like a conditioning race for him. Early season workout that’s all
🥳Awesome! Quincy will one day run against a 16-year-old African boy named Gout Gout in Australia. This is going to be epic. Watch him on UA-cam. 😯
2:25
Why he running the 800
Prob cuz most guys focus on longer strength work early in the season and go down to more speed work later in the year

He has a meet tomorrow ig idk
Strength building, helps endurance for 300m, 400m, 500m, and 600m
Mind you, Wayde Van Niekerk did the same when he was trying to build up his base during his post-injury comeback
OK if you say so.
He might be getting over a cold didn't look in top form Quincy
Ran a 2nd all time 600m
All these wanna be coaches in the comments😂 just enjoy the content

Really out of shape. He was sucking air so hard just trying not to pass out. Couldn't be bothered with anyone. I've been there.
He came back later and ran the 600 at 1:17 US #2 all time. He’s fine
nahhh looks like the Olympic champion is kinda cooked
Nah he ran a 2nd all time 600m time
Lol
QUINCY is a one hit wonder
